These bold railway expansion projects reflect strong leadership and a clear commitment to national development. Commendations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritising modern transport infrastructure that can boost connectivity, trade, jobs, and economic growth across Nigeria. |

This is awesome if it can be achieved within the shortest possible timeframe (2 to 6 years for a serious government). |

Cajal:Not until the system (government) start hitting hard on corruption. You can't embezzle hundreds of billions on naira and goes onto plea bargain to pay paltry of hundred to 200 million for the system to Fred you and still have the effrontery to use the money to contest for Senate, Governor or President and expect a New Nigeria. It's the biggest JOKE of the century. And to me, no matter how wonderful Tinubu or any other President will perform, if they didn't hit hard on corruption, they failed woefully. Cos this corruption is really dealing with us and we're all paying dearly for it. |

Every Nigerian state should operate a public-facing digital portal where registered citizens can access real-time development roadmaps across industry categories- infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, and so on. Not press releases and mere project announcements. Nigerians need actual timelines, contractor details, budgets, and progress updates. And an agency to create massive awareness on how to interact with the solution so every Nigerians can participate actively in building the nation to their expectations. The portal should include a structured feedback system. Citizens submit input, it gets routed to designated supervisors, and the system tracks frequency and severity. Recurring concerns automatically trigger escalation. Threshold-based reporting sends professional summaries directly to ministry heads for review and recommended action. This is not a goodwill initiative but a performance architecture. Right now, government accountability in Nigeria is theatrical. Projects get announced, photos get taken, and the trail goes cold. Nobody knows what was actually delivered, what it cost, or who signed off. When things go wrong , and they do , there is no clear chain of responsibility to pull on. A portal like this changes that. Every project has a name on it. Every milestone is public. Every feedback cycle creates a paper trail. Citizens stop being spectators and start being stakeholders with standing. The real measure of government performance is not news coverage of groundbreaking ceremonies. It is whether what was promised was built, within budget, on time, and to standard , and whether someone is answerable when it is not. These things are not difficult to established and implement. But cos Nigerians politicians are all thieves plus those they lead too suffer from small mindset - this evil structures will continue till this generation fades away like dust in the dessert. What an unfortunate country and people. |

Find a way of connecting all the rail lines instead of existing in isolation. This way someone can leave Abuja to any part of the federation. I think the best thing to do is to create rail lines connecting all states in Nigeria that will reduce costs of transportation, goods and services in the country. |

Obapluto:Which kind Igbo talk be this, must you bring tribe into everything. You nor dey read, na to jump come moment. You nor see Aba, Onitsha,Nnewi, Owerri, Abakaliki,Enugu, so all this place are located in noth-east abi. If all this projects are executed and delivered, then couple with light rail projects handled by individual state government, that will solve almost 70% of haulage problems in Nigeria. Let's make Nigeria work. |

| Re: 13 Proposed Railway Projects Across Nigeria by Reference(m): 12:47pm On May 27 |
Hmmm....sounds nice. Hope it will be pursued with the same vim as the concrete road caper. And states should be mandated to play their parts in urban rail/tram roll-outs. A whole national capital has no urban rail in 2026... |

| Re: 13 Proposed Railway Projects Across Nigeria by Reference(m): 12:52pm On May 27 |
OredoPikin:There is nothing wrong in planning.. And we don't expect all these projects done in a lifetime because we just donot have the economy to execute them with the rapidity of China. But if the plans and programs are INSTITUTIONALISED, and not PERSONALISED like these fancy new coastal and sahelian highways,.then they will truly belong to the people who will defend them. The key to long term planning and successful execution/realization is ownership by the people. |

I just wish it can be done and completed in time because that system of transportation is convenient for moving about, especially from one state to another. Imagine travelling from warri to itapke, then you get a cab or bus to Abuja. Nigerians will surely be excited to see this project completed. |
