We are not children here who can be conned by cock and bull stories of a magic unknown app that somehow downloaded and installed itself outside of playstore and outside of restrictions and suddenly stole your banking credentials.

You chose to install your banking app on a rooted device with thief ware installed on it.

if you downloaded the app from apple store or Google play store, you can sue the app store. But if you didn't download it from an app store, take your L and change your password informations

Even if it is a POS operator, the account must have a BVN or NIN. Cant anything be done using the info on the BVN to track the thief?

The money is moved directly from the op account to the POS account, there's nothing you can do, all tracking will end at the POS account.

The only possibility of catching the hacker is if by luck the tracking was done the same day and the POS agent by miracle knows who withdraw that amount of money that same day.

If tracking is done a week or even 3 days later, I will be almost impossible for POS agent to remember.

Note that he didn't download a fake Opay app, he already had Opay so how was that scam app able to access his bank accout?


No SMS OTP, No mail, no verification at all. If this is true, then it shows how unsafe opay is rather than blame the user
