You start by denying and distancing yourself from the video. Apart from Bayo, many online users already believed the clip is real and actually emanated from VDM. Insulting Bayo should not be his first response

*make or create AI video or chopped video of VDM releasing an audio clip of the President in that video (the audio clip was also created - it's not real. The President won't sound that petty the way made him sound in that video)
*Presidential spokesman then calls for VDM to answer to releasing the clip. (How did you even tie him to owning and releasing the clip because it wasn't anywhere near his page)
*twitter mob who are tribalists, political jingoists and paid propagandists help to spread the call for arrest of VDM..
*The Security and Intelligence communities receives a formal petition and a court order to arrest him as he touches down - remember these ones have no mind of their own, to do a simple due diligence and see that these are stvpid propaganda..
*The whole scheme is to have him defending what he knows nothing about, for months and keeping him busy and away from public space as the run-up to the elections reach campaign stage..

It's all a grand plan.

But then VDM can beat them to their game. They have no evidence linking the video to his page. Infact the concocted video has nothing to do with him but they are ready to make him face all these and later pay damages for deliberate wrong Incarceration. VDM's biggest asset would be the social media which he himself can use to find out the root of the video ahead of them..

And like someone suggested, sue the spokesperson that called him out, for defamation of character and assigning to him what he knew nothing about.

Go and read about the fake picture of Atiku that was used to tarnish Atiku and how they created the fake picture and routed the picture through 15 digital devices just to disguise the digital footprint of the picture. That particular Atiku case took many months before it was unravelled.

Why then do the police come back to arrest informants after arresting kidnappers? After all the informant was not present when the kidnap happened.


Thank God the SSS and the Police CID never employed these ones if not no single criminal case would be solved

Sorry just seeing this now. What I'm curious to know is who exactly is going to be charged with this Cybercrime law in this case? Is it the blogs posting it or is it Bayo who re-shared it to threaten VDM or is it you and I who listened and forwarded the audio to our friends?

VDM did not generate the alleged audio, and VDM did not post or share the audio to anyone on his pages. Even in the video he posted purportedly denying the claim, he didn't even as little as repost the so called audio for context. Someone obviously cropped an existing video of VDM talking of a totally different issue, and then they added the so-called audio to a previously existing video. So how is the existence of this audio recording even the business of VDM?
