I have come to realize that tasting shawarma is one of the many things I have never done in my life.

As a young lady in her late 20 s, people tend to laugh at me when I say it.They act as if eating shawarma makes us complete as young ladies, somebody ones told me that"don't let people hear it".

Anyway I prefer local dishes, give me better fufu and egusi/achi/afang/ogbono soup with original palm wine, I will pray for you forever.

What's so special about eating shawarma?

Note: The place where you eventually eat the first shawarma will determine what follows afterwards - Some shawarma literally taste like heaven, while some taste like porridge wrapped with flattened bread.

But them nor dey telli person.... It has this taste - whether hot or cold, with all the mixed ketchup and cream, diced chicken, sausage rolled up 🤤

You don also chop barbecue fish?

You cannot prefer doing something over another which you’ve never experienced before. How are you sure you won’t like the new activity over what you’re used to? I cannot prefer my Colombian side chick over my Nigerian girlfriend because I’ve never met a Colombian in my life. How will I know if they won’t turn out more friendly and submissive?

What we eat in Nigeria is not the original shawarma recipe.
Let's just call it wraps (of whatever they put inside).

The original shawarma recipe has lots of chicken inside, no hot dogs, and it's not filled with soggy/messy cream. None of that messy stuff.

You dont need to eat pizza alone
You have to eat it with chilled natural yogurt to enjoy it

Hotdogs
Burgers and the rest are not my thing

I prefer catfish pepper soup/smoked catfish greens/rice/grass cutter peppersoup with agidi inside stepam down with palmwine

Me too.
Never tasted sharwama, pizza, burger.
Not because i can't buy it, but no necessity for it, plus haven't gotten a honest opportunity to why i want to take it.

Even ice cream, no real motivation to why i want to lick it.

There are varieties of shawarma which is also a form of what is called "wrap".

Bottomline, you are eating some flat bread with some type of protein. If you prefer Agege bread with akara or moinmoin or suya, you miss nothing but it's more balanced and healthier if you add some greens.

Same here, never tasted it and don't have the urge to try it. Once work for a boss that bought me pizza. I packaged and took it home then dash it out.
I'm never a fan of those types of foods. Meat pies, Pizza, Sharwama and co

Shawarma get type sha, if you eat thrashy one you'll feel its just hype, but you eat better shawarma na addiction straight up, first time i tried it was in abuja, chicken shawarma with lots of clunky chicken, there's also suya variety, its expensive but worth it, get it at junkyard grills, had it with freshly made milkshake.

The thing Na Nonsense we dey mostly call Shawarma around here with their bread of 2 weeks and later. Na only 1 place for Lekki I don chop Shawarma wey be like Middle East own. This Dubai own emh, E go dey hungry as you dey see the preparation process

I tasted one in Sokoto in 2011 up until now I still crave for it.

I now tasted one in a roadside joint in Ibadan my brother I feel like committing

But yet Shawarma is a nice snack worth trying out
