| What Happened To The Nigeria We Once Knew? by Rapmoney(op): 11:42am On May 28 |
Times and seasons have past. In these present times, It looks like each day in Nigeria comes with its own series of complexities, distractions, and troubles. Sometimes, I look back with an immeasurable level of nostalgic feelings to how life used to be in the 80s and 90s. I don't really call people born in those eras millennials, I call them the last set of people who witnessed a peaceful and socially balanced Nigeria. Even though those eras were mostly characterized by military administrations, we still had a decent level of sanity in the society. SECURITY: In the 80s and 90s, you could literally travel from Warri to Kaduna, without knowing anyone, and still find a decent place to sleep. A young man could easily travel from Akure to Owerri, without knowing anyone, and still find someone who would assist with accommodation. Today, Nigerians cannot travel from one part of the country to another without praying and fasting. In these times, travelling by night is like a suicide mission. Something we used to do previously. We used to move from Warri to Bauchi on night buses from 1993 to 1997. In 1999, Brazilian ex-football star, Ronadinho Gaucho and his teammates toured northern Nigeria. Can that happen today? SOCIAL LIFE AND EDUCATION: Before the advent of kidnapping, organ harvesting, internet fraud, etc, young people had a better social life. Today, people are extra careful with one another. We have heard and seen too many cases of dismembered bodies of young women in gutters, drainages, septic tanks, and on roadsides. The things we place value on today is sometimes shocking. From the early 90s to the early part of 2000s, it was a milestone to aspire and gain admission to study in the university. Today, it is a milestone to purchase a 50,000,000 Naira Benz at the age of 17, with no known source of income. The most lethal problems of Nigeria are multifaceted. They cut across religion, ethnicity, value system, culture, and both the old and the young in the society. And like I stated initially, as the days roll by, the demons eating into the fabric of the society multiply. If we could have a generation of old people who are not sympathetic towards the young and the unborn generations, and a set of young people who neither understand their collective roles in the society nor concerned about real changes in the system, I wonder what the future generations would turn out to be.

| Re: What Happened To The Nigeria We Once Knew? by Didijiji: 12:13pm On May 28 |
Tinubu and His Lagos boys ascended the scene and wrecked the country If only Nigeria knew, we would have teargased and stoned the enemies of Nigeria when they gathered at Ojota in 2012 for a very deceitful SAVE NIGERIA protest If only we knew they were coming to damage our country, we would have rounded them all up and jailed them for life Now even our innocent children are paying for their mess Only divine intervention can restore good life in Nigeria again |

I miss the good old days!!! The good old day where people could travel without fear. The good old days where the minimum wage could feed a family of 2. The good old days where you could travel without keeping money for ransom, just in case. The good old days where we had more virgins in the rural areas than non-virgins. The good old days where we only saw unclothedness on pornography videos, not what we see everyday in the street. The good old days where 95% of DNA test were positive, unlike the 15% we have now. The good old days where non-virgins didn't need vagina tightening cream, unlike today. I miss the good old days!!! What do I even know sef aside enlightening my fellow men nationwide with the good news of DNA test |

nigeria at no time was near perfect, go back and watch past documentaries each period with its own difficulty. the present kidnapping issues we experiencing i will implore every one to go listen to Mrs patience jonathan when she visited chibbok, very painful people only saw cruise and not the real message passed, the current government is guilty of the current kidnapping situations, because it was a means used to remove jonathan from power now who ever we dont know is sponsoring this insecurity massively. lets not forget how jonathan stated it clear that saboteur are within his government. the current decay is massive the country cant be fix, i can bet on that, whoever that is claiming he/she is able to end this somehow, within his govt there will still be saboteurs who will frustrate his effort. the solution is to split the country and reduce dependence on the federal system we operate |

What happened to Nigeria is simple. Democracy is not fit or well suited for a country as massive and ethnicly diverse like Nigeria. Maybe let's try military dictatorship again or communist (like China). Why am I suggesting this? Socrates the wisest man that ever lived saw the loophole in democracy, he postulated that democracy will allow the ignorant rule over the elite intelligent bringing about backward society, meaning if democracy doesn't get it right with the leadership, the society will never progress. Guess what? They put Socrates to the death because of that and guess who did? The ignorant democratic leaders in Athens Greece at the time. So welcome to Democratic Nigeria. |

Turn by turn happened to Nigeria. I've never envisaged that Nigeria's growth could ever be this reversed and that's what happened when sentiments are rated above integrity. We used to abuse people here in lagos that...see as you're as useless as cotonou cefa. Sadly, that cefa today has overtaken the naira in value. Many african nations have waited for so long, to see our giants awake, alas! They've moved on and left us behind. Na chibok girl dem kidnap wey tinubu sponsored protests in lagos and invited press to cover the show. Several people had been kidnapped and killed under this administration but everybody, including those key elements who were present at chibok girls protests are now keeping quiet, suffice it to say the true enemies of Nigeria have taken over the government affairs. No nation achieves meaningful progress with insecurity. Of all the business trips made by tinubu, how many investors are here? They're not stupid and this is what happens when you made a terrorist founder your running mate. Shetima will never utter a word on insecurity. Our mumu go soon do |

Propaganda happened and they will gaslight your reality. APC as a party is skilled in manipulation and I'm sorry for you. gaslighting /ˈɡaslʌɪtɪŋ/ noun the practice of psychologically manipulating someone into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning.

Pit Obi and insecurity largely happened. That man's ambition has done immense damage to many young minds psyche. i remember that video of him saying he's going to six burials and has packed his food. That guy tore any religious and tribal fabric laced together before. As for insecurity, the chicken has long come to roost. Irresponsible parenting and religious banditry have yielded fruits. |

That Nigeria will never come again. Islamic jihad has destroyed it, lots of southerners too are foolishly embracing that backward evil culture, that spread death, hate and division. |

When they said a bird at hand is better than a thousand in the bush, we considered it a joke... We were not contended with 200 to a dollar but where we are today with 1400 to a dollar is a journey of no return or maybe not in this generation... |

I would say we overlook the number one reason ...... unfiltered access to the internet. It has massively corrupted our culture ....African culture period. We have turned our backs on our morals...our traditions and adopted the practices of the evil and immoral West ... wanting to be like them. We're no longer our brother's keeper ... it's about self... selfishness...greed ... get rich by any means necessary... even ourselves we no longer appreciate.... we bleach our skin... proudly wear a h hair if other people but not ours...etc. And we wonder why we are how we are today...thanks to the unfiltered internet and policy makers who see nothing wrong because they are equally influenced by the very internet. |

muyico:The type of progress that you have defined in your head based on your personal and selfish interests, right? Modified: Each time you talk about Nigeria's problems, some set of kids online begin to attack you by name calling. It shows that they know the person who occupies the seat is incompetent. To them, any issue that brings out the incompetence of leadership in Nigeria is a direct attack on their paymaster. That means the paymaster is equivalent to failure. |
| Re: What Happened To The Nigeria We Once Knew? by Kemetian: 12:50pm On May 28 |
Rapmoney:ABEG SPARE ME ALL THIS NONSENSE. EVEN BACK THEN IT WAS NOT SAFE. WERE THOSE NOT THE DAYS OF ARMED ROBBERS? WERE THOSE NOT THE DAYS OF GBOMO GBOMO? KIDNAPPING CHILDREN FOR MONEY RITUALS? WE ARE EVEN SAFER NOW. TODAY YOU CAN SEND YOUR KIDS OUT TO PLAY WITHOUT FEAR. TODAY YOU CAN SLEEP IN YOUR HOUSE COMFORTABLY WITHOUT FEARING THAT ARMED ROBBERS WOULD SMASH THROUGH YOUR GATE, STORM INTO YOUR HOUSE AND DEMAND MONEY AT GUNPOINT. THIS WAS A DAILY OCCURRENCE IN THE 80s and 90s. LAGOS WAS THEIR HEADQUARTERS. MANY TIMES YOU WOULD GIVE THEM EVERYTHING THEY WANT AND THEY WOULD STILL SHOOT YOU. I PERSONALY ENCOUNTERED AND ESCAPED ARMED ROBBERS ONCE OR EVEN TWICE BACK IN THOSE DAYS. IT'S NOT LIKE TODAY WHERE YOU ONLY HEAR ABOUT KIDNAPPERS AND BANDITS ON TV IN SOME FAR CORNER OF THE COUNTRY AND YOU START SCREAMING "INSECURITY!" BACK THEN IT WAS A LIVED EXPERIENCE. |

Bingo. So you don't know the world is evolving and still evolving and transforming? When did industrialization start? The next 200yrs you will be here to write how humans have evolved to robots but back in 2027 we were acting normals as humans. Your jargon writing about 1980 & 1970's like you know a proof of incidents that happened then. Nonsense |
