I just went through this thread and really the poster raised serious issues you can hardly fault.

So are Nigerians one of the worst people?

Countless times it is said, once you buy a new car, or your status just changed, then you have to change your location. This is because your breakthrough will stir envy.

However,

1. My people will defend their oppressors (the politicians that loot their present and future).

2. My people envy their neighbors/friends who are merely trying to survive, and if care is not taken, they are ready to take the lives of their neighbors/friends just because of envy.

The reasons for the envy could be, the neighbor/friend just got a Tokunbo car (but this person didn't buy it from your common wealth, this person did not tax you etc.) This person got it from his hustle/struggle/sleepless nights.

They could envy their neighbors/friends because he has a beautiful wife, or caring husband (common, they did not snatch them from you).

But my people do not envy their oppressors who are the real cause of their misfortune.

My people hardly get angry with their oppressors who deliberately planned and created their poverty (so that they can continue to rule you).

Rather,

My people hail their oppressors

My people defend their oppressors

My people snatch ballot for their oppressors over peanut.

Don't you people think about this, this is misplaced envy and jealousy.

Let us change our behavior, let us direct our grievances to the right channel.

👉 vote wisely

👉 do not snatch ballot or do any dirty job for any politician

👉 let people who are sure of their manifesto, antecedent, competence etc. come to free and fair election

👉 hold political office holders accountable

👉 recall underperforming representatives

👉 live above ethnic and religious bias during election

👉 vote based on competence and merit (enough of mediocres and mediocrity).

Leave your friends and neighbors alone, let them drive their cars.

Don't think evil against your innocent friends and neighbors. They did not cause your misfortune.

Target those that squander and lavish your common wealth.

We cannot continue to target those who did not wrong us.

We cannot continue to be docile.

We cannot continue this way.

But that's human nature. People don't envy those who already made it way above them. They envy their mates or neighbors who seem on the verge of making it, or whose success reflects on them. If Tinubu has a convoy it doesn't reflect on you, u hail him. If your neighbor or mate has tokunbo it reflects on you (with your Leg-edes Benz! )

If I want to decipher naija men from international sites it's by their comments.

Envy is real.

When you want to go far without delay keep friends out of your personal space and life completely.

No body go fit use envy destroy waiting he nor get access or closure with.

Wisdom, there's nothing like best friend or life squad cos they can sell you and everything they know about your life for a dollar without hesitation.

The only true connection is God and he's faithful with grace and mercy.


Until we the youth grow above religion and ethnicity in unity, that's the only true solution to every Nigeria problem today to be in the past.

We all need each other cos we all are important to rescue Nigeria for our children's future.


In a nutshell, most guys envy their friends and neighbors deliberately doing it out of competition. They use both physical and spiritual ways try to bring you back to their level of low life.

Me no friends, no squads and no competition cos the last time i checked was still competitive with myself to do better than yesterday.

Only business associates and learning news ways to make money is allowed.

Keep people at distance, all their evil plans can never get to you cos God is faithful.

But I really don't understand what you mean by reflecting on to you. Anyways, human nature is very bad then, going after innocent people who didn't hurt you but neglecting those who deprive you of your future in the name of governance and sometimes even defending them. Let's change that.

What do you mean you don't understand what reflecting on you means. Do people compare you to Tinubu's son? They compare you to your mates close to you: "Your mates don marry finish" or your neighbor has a shiny new car and you park your raggedy old car beside it!

Is it the crooked politician that parks his shiny new car beside the raggedy old car you're managing? No, it is your neighbour!

All this talk of envy is more common among southerners. You hardly see this among northerners. Southerners are so toxic. Reason why I prefer living among Hausas/northerners generally to living among southerners.

No, but he should be careful how he handle the situation. It is our DUTY to make sure we behave in a way that our neighbors or friends are not jealous of us

Regardless of how you behave so as not to stir envy in your neighbor, even if this includes you laughing sheepishly all the time, and even bending to greet that neighbor who is your age mate or even younger, the moment you are living a life that they dream but do not know if they will ever get to live it in this life, they will beef or envy you.

In short, people envy you for no reason most times.
