In 2014, name the person who would defeat sitting President Jonathan. Honest answer? Nobody obvious. Buhari had lost three times. ACN, CPC, ANPP were scattered. Then insecurity cracked Jonathan, the opposition merged into APC, and the rest is history.

You might be correct that the insecurity that contributed to Jonathan's downfall in 2015 is repeating itself again.

But the truth is, Tinubu is different from Jonathan. Jonathan made a big mistake in 2015. And that mistake is not aligning with the right people. There are some people that matters in the scheme of things; you need to woo them and weigh options.

Who among the oppositions can defeat Tinubu in 2027? Let's be realistic this time around. The only person that can challenge Tinubu come 2027 is Atiku. But Atiku will have problems with funding and nationwide reach. How many polling units can ADC cover? How many can NDC cover? These are the pointing factors to Tinubu's Victory come 2027.
Forget all the noise obedients are making online. Elections are won at the polls and not online.
And let me add this; Atiku and Obi's ticket would have been the perfect combo to defeat Tinubu in 2027. But the same scenario that plays out in 2023 is also playing out now.

Despite the security challenges we are facing now; Tinubu's 2027 victory is assured cos the oppositions who are supposed to come together to send him packing are after their own personal ambition.

I just read the post you made on march 19th about how terrorists invaded your residence and took away your belongings after beating you and your family. Yet you are the one supporting a president and govt that is not doing anything important about fighting insecurity. When insecurity is that bad, no referee save anybody.

You are right, Buhari wrote 2019. But let me correct the history...

Jonathan didn't lose because he was weak or because PDP lacked machinery. PDP had been in power 16 years, controlled most governors, had the state apparatus. Jonathan lost because of internal betrayal and insecurity. His own party ate him. Governors abandoned him. Insecurity broke the narrative that the government was competent.

That is the real lesson. Not that rigging is impossible. By 2027, if rampant school kidnappings are still happening, Tinubu may face the same problem: defections, internal cracks, loss of confidence.

The machinery only works when the base still believes.
