2027: Peter Obi Will Be Sworn In As President - Kwankwaso by Segunbabba(op): 6:27am On May 30
Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and running mate to the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that Peter Obi will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.

Kwankwaso made the declaration on Friday during the affirmation of consensus aspirants of the party in Kano State, describing the process as a demonstration of unity and internal democracy within the party structure

He said the emergence of consensus candidates across constituencies reflected strong cohesion among party members, noting that the exercise was conducted peacefully despite the large number of aspirants in several areas. According to him, some constituencies had more than 10 aspirants, but stakeholders were able to reach agreement through consensus building.

“I’m talking about Peter Obi. He will be flying our flag, and by the grace of God, on May 29, exactly one year from now, he will have been sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Kwankwaso said. He commended party leaders, elders and supporters in Kano State for ensuring a smooth selection process across all constituencies, describing the outcome as a product of cooperation and political maturity.

At the event, former Kano State deputy governor, Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo, was affirmed as the party’s governorship candidate, while Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna emerged as the senatorial candidate for Kano Central. Other candidates were also affirmed for the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly and various senatorial districts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso appreciated members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, the CRC, Lafiya Jari groups and the New Nigeria Peoples Party for their support and commitment throughout the exercise.

Earlier, the chairman of the party’s primaries committee, Mainasara Abubakar Sani, commended the conduct of the exercise, describing it as peaceful and well-organised. Speaking after his affirmation, Gwarzo pledged to run an inclusive and open-door administration if elected governor in 2027, while urging youths to remain committed to the party’s objectives ahead of the polls.

Go and look at what you wrote again to note you are not proficient using the English language. You make it seem Kabiru Sokoto was found in Tinubu's house.

Even you sentence in bold above is not grammatically correct.

By the special grace of God Almighty that oversees the affairs of mankind, who sees the innermost heart of man and knows that we are only supporting Peter Obi for a better Nigeria for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.

God knows I am only against Tinubu because of how he turned Nigeria upside down in less than 2 years he became President; destroyed the economy, super inflation that reduced Nigerians purchasing power which killed so many businesses in Nigeria. The mad insecurity making going to Nigeria scary and making living in Nigeria for those in Nigeria a dangerous venture, and turning traveling inter-state by road one of the 1000s ways to kpai.

Secondly, I am against Tinubu's regime because of how he has caused so much tribalism and division of Nigeria with his tribalistic and divisive policies, appointments and project implementation.

Thirdly and lastly, I am against Tinubu and his regime because of his insensitive nature of ignoring the suffering of Nigerians and how businesses and entrepreneurs are struggling to survive by implementing a tax law to widen existing tax law to raise more money for those in government who failed in accounting and making good use of our crude oil revenue for decades now.

I do not hate him because of who he is but because of his actions as a political leader and President

You lie a lot. The bolded is bollocks. Tax reforms the Tinubu regime introduced is to improve the tax to GDP ratio of Nigeria, that is below the African average, so that more is available for Government to use improving the lives of Nigerian as is the standard case across the world.

Look at the simplistic explanation of tax to GDP ratio below whereby the world Bank recommend it must be above 15% while OECD nations average around 34% whereas that of Nigeria is pathetic and one of the lowest in the world at around 10%.

How can any well-meaning educated person then try to lie that efforts of this government to improve our tax to GDP ratio is a bad thing unless they have a hidden agenda for their attempt to misinform?

Your sort simply want an Igbo President and that is why you are online daily lying against Tinubu. Be bold enough to admit what you want because your criticism of PBAT are never factually valid.

Kwankwaso is an evil genius. He knows Obi will lose woefully. But supporting him now means he will inherit his followers ahead of his own ambition in 2031.

All his comments, he always distances himself from next years impending disgrace. As the potential vice, is he not supposed to say, we will win 2027 election? He always singles out Obi grin

The Nigerian government have shown highest level of inability to manage and account for our collective crude oil revenue, plus other revenues gotten from natural resources and other forms of direct and indirect tax and levies for many years now.

Nigeria have no national water supply system.

We do not have stable electricity supply.

We do not have a secured border.

We do not have secured nation, most Nigerians provide their own security through private security guards they pay for from their pockets.

Nigeria have no credible social welfare for citizens.

Nigeria have no credit system that give citizens opportunity to have a good life without paying outrightly like it is in the nations Tinubu is copying his tax law from.

Nigeria have no system that protect rich or semi rich citizens or help them when they go bankrupt.

We dont have free comprehensive medical insurance in Nigeria that cover for every citizen.

No safety net for Nigerian citizens.

The little Nigerians was getting from government in the form of subsidies on fuel, subsidies on tertiary education tuition, subsidy on electricity bill, Bola Tinubu's insensitive and consciencless regime removed them all from day one without providing credible automotive safety nets to protect the suffering, dehumanized Nigerian citizens that have been misgoverned for years.

Now the same government that have been grossly incompetent and irresponsible in accounting for existing nation revenues is trying to widen the tax net to cover more citizens and to tax the few financially successful citizens who succeeded through personal labor, trial and error, taking risks and struggling by all means without government assistant and you expect sensible citizens that are not zombies and ethnic jingoists that see nothing wrong in whatever the President does just because he is their tribesman using our collective resources to concentrate national development in their region.

Citizens will be happy and willing to pay tax if they see that the government truly care about their welfare and wellbeing by being responsible in managing the nation's mineral resource revenue and other revenues effectively in a way that it helps make life better for all Nigerian citizens. You dont give your hard earned income to an irresponsible leader who has been woeful, disastrous, wicked and bias in his governance of the nation.

God will reward us all according to our work and hearts

More lies and incoherent arguments. Nigeria has been destroy by cumulative inept leadership , over several decades, before PBAT become President.

Yet tax reforms that became law formally only in January 2026 and that all experts praise, for it's attempt to increase our tax to GDP ratio above 15% the world Bank indicate is the minimum nations should aim for, is the cause of all the problems you cite above?

You are a compromised enemy of Nigeria's progress. The effort of you guys to demonize Tinubu as main and singular problem of Nigeria, since lord Lugard amalgamation, is distasteful.

Tinubu's wickedness, insensitivity to the Nigerian masses and his bias leadership is the reason he destroyed Nigeria's economy and everything.

Yes Nigeria have been unfortunate with Presidents but Tinubu's became the worst. He took incompetence, tribalism and wickedness to a whole new level.

He removed:
Fuel subsidy at a go
Electricity tariff subsidy
Tertiary education tuition subsidy

He unified FOREX!

He increased import duties multiple times in less than one year which made commodity prices to shoot up so high.

He started borrowing more loans than previous governments combined after removing fuel subsidy.

He introduced more bank transaction levies/tax.

He increased electricity tariff even when electricity supply wasn't improved.

He introduced band billing to further exploit the rich, businesses and industries that use heavy electricity consumption which also increased price of goods and services as those businesses added this to their product and service cost.

Now I ask you, if you want to operate on a patient that had an accident and in the process you discover he has other health problems that he had been managing before the fatal accident and can still survive with those other health challenges pending when he recovers from emergency situation. Will you go ahead and be doing a major surgery on him while also doing him organ transplants and also place him on chemotherapy for a cancer that is still in stage 1, and also place him on a strict diet for diabetes and still start operating him for an eye issue that has not become an issue for his sight all at the same time just because you want to save his life and make him completely free of every sickness and disease at once?

You are supposed to start with the emergency situations to save his life first, when he recovers from that, you can then gradually start treating other illnesses to avoid killing him with overdose of drugs and pains from multiple major treatments and surgeries.

This is exactly what Tinubu did to Nigeria.

Moreso, he went and started a fruitless project called coastal highway that was not necessary at the moment, abandoning other major roads in Nigeria that need urgent attention just to siphon money and to enrich his family's joint business with Lebanese partner.

It is too early to be talking of swearing in when you have not talked about how to make people vote...last elections, thugs went to scatter many election centers.

What is being done to prevent reoccurrence?

How do you prevent thugs from chasing voters away from election grounds and snatching ballot box
