Original EGA (Gable) adopted the gimmick to mock lucha wrestlers he was feuding with. When Gable got injured, Kaiser picked it up and continued as a heel.

Kaiser could promo and sing in spanish thus, connecting more with Mexican audience. He respected their traditions unlike Gable.

Eventually, the audience began to cheer EGA(Kaiser). He became a full babyface after Dominik turned on him.

Gable returned from injury but now a babyface on RAW. However, he was still a heel in Mexico hence a bizarro face/heel dynamic like Bret and Shawn in US/Canada.
