I am not sure what can be done.

These guys obviously have foreign sponsors and support.

They obviously have local sympathisers

And we have mercenary security agencies that are easily compromised

We caught robbers in my estate in a persons house. As in they took one of them straight from the house to the police car. Even with the way the police were acting, people were already muttering that the police would let them go. And after two days they did. Likely for small settlement.

With police like that who will inform on hideouts and locations - especially as for police and military every kidnap is at its root a windfall where they simply wait for their cut from the ransom.

We also have an army personnel shortfall that needs to be filled with non northerners 😑
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 7:53am On May 31
Voting Tinubu is just a waste of time, and a greater risk to your existence.

You have a higher chance of dying now because of insecurity, than in the past.

Nigeria's security challenges is not new. Tinubu came and it became worse. People like Matawalle that had their state run down by Bandits, were given portfolios of Defense Minister of state. This is a man who's documentary is on BBC where he had a roundtable with Bandits and paid ransoms. He made the Jigawa state governor Defense Minister. Someone with zilch experience, other than "I stepped down for him in the primaries"

For Tinubu, Defense is another sector to settle his political friends. And if he can boldly do that in his first term, his 2nd term would be worse.

Nobody should gaslight anybody that the North is after his second tenure. The same north is unlivable today. He isn't protecting them, and now his own region cannot be protected.

Remember, if you die because of insecurity, you will be used as a defense for him, and why security votes are not being used judiciously. None of his fans will blame him. None will call him out. It is either the 200 million Nigerian minus Tinubu that is at fault, or Lord Lugard, or anyone dead. Anybody but Tinubu sha, should be blamed

In summary, try not to die or be kidnapped, abeg

Exactly! In the years if Lt. Gen Ihejirika, we recorded huge successes against the insurgents mostly because the bulk of ground troops were drawn from the middle belt and south infact a small census in my unit in 2012 revealed that we outnumbered core northerners by 18%.

These people are senseless and it is tiring, you cannot win a war with a severely compromised security structure. Everyday we witness the deaths of innocent people, even poor children that know nothing. Its a pitiful situation

The President has failed woefully in all aspects and it is a pity that what we call the opposition could not get their acts together and boot out this mistake

We were saying it here that voting for Tinubu was just a continuation of the shege and clueless governance experienced under Buhari. Dem say we dey intimidate and bully people for their political choice; today everyone is seeing how that brainless decision of voting Tinubu has affected every facet of our lives.

Under Buhari people were living peacefully in Kwara, Kogi, Oyo and Ekiti states. Today, people get snatched from their home by terrorists and bandits unchallenged in those states.

It's unfortunate knowing that we have people have set their mind to still re-elect the man once again despite every his glaring failure at governance.

Like I always say: We must learn a lesson! I just hope and pray we and our loved ones will not have our lives cut short as a result of this government's incompetence 🙏

Playing politics with the lives of everyone, except themselves.

Whether anybody wants to vote Tinubu or not is not my problem. Just know that you have a greater chance of been killed either through kidnapping, banditry or terrorism anywhere in Nigeria than before.

2 weeks, and the whole Nigeria Security architecture does not have an idea of where these kidnappers are. This is a case that has the attention of the IGP and the State governor.

I saw videos of Makinde visiting the families of the victims, and the number of policemen and Soldiers in that video should be enough to at least give some heat to these guys. Rather, they can even release videos to spit on the faces of 200 million people.

Defend Tinubu all you want. Tell us how he gave NELFUND and built coastal roads. But you'll see how that helps you, when you can't leave your house, or get beheaded with zero consequences for the killer.

These people raided Kwara and caused a lot of havoc there. Towns were left desolate, and nobody said anything.

Next thing is Oyo. And now, it's as if it's a big news.

Once they repeat it like 3 times in Oyo, we would forget about Oyo. Then they move to the next state, and we all will react again.

Tinubu has left all of us defeated mentally. If you see a video of Bandits attacking a place, you watch and scroll. Infact, people will still travel there the next hour, rather than shutting down the place till security and confidence is restored.

Tinubu doesn't care if you die, and that's the truth.

And it is what you should care about too at this point.. There should be no fence sitting or nonchalant attitude by any Nigerian..Get your PVC, vote and PROTECT your vote.. Follow your vote down to your state collation center..When you refuse to get involved in politics of your nation, you end up with unadulterated evil like Tinubu..

This is the worst we've ever been, numbers are flying around of casualties from insecurity but it's not just numbers, it's human beings like you and I.. Nobody is safe, not even toddlers.. Can't believe that Tinubu has allowed kids as young as 2yrs old to be in captivity for up to two weeks now..

We're not at the point of respecting people's choices anymore..Any APC supporter or apologist whether bold or cowardly is your mortal enemy..Vile individuals who'll make excuses to gaslight people despite the inhumane evidences staring everyone in the face..

My brother, respectfully, we should stop making posts like this to start with.

Let’s use your personal business as an example. If local bandits or foreigners keep attacking your business, I’m sure you’ll put up a better fight to protect your livelihood than what Tiefnubu and his goons are currently doing. As a matter of fact, if Nigeria was a private institution that kept coming under attack, nobody would be defending the MD if he kept putting the lives of staff at risk instead of solving the problem.

For starters, Tiefnubu should deploy a sizeable number of army, air force, navy and police personnel from barracks across the Western region, working alongside local hunters and even the agberos he uses during elections, to comb those forests. He should direct the DSS and Customs officers to gather intelligence and be ready to engage when necessary. After all, no be like say dem no know how to use weapons too.

Bring together Civil Defence, local vigilantes and able-bodied men willing to support the effort. The truth is that the president is so useless that even the governors seem completely unbothered. All of dem dey more interested in embezzling our common wealth than solving the country’s problems.

If him and his goons are this clueless when it comes to internal security and can’t even protect human lives, why is he vying for another term? We are practically at war already, yet the tadpole is busy strategising about how to steal another election when he is clearly incapable of providing even the most basic security for the citizens of this country.

All these shalaye and excuses won’t cut it. It’s not as if na 2 million armed men carry out these recent atrocities. He should do is job! Any other institution with a dullard like Tiefnubu would have long sacked the weyrey da nu.

There are currently abandoned villages in Kwara and Kogi state due to fear of attack by these terrorists. I see videos of some of them online and I'm sure the intelligence agencies are seeing it too but they don't really care. Their data boys are busy blaming Seyi Makinde for this Oyo incident but you don't see them blaming Kwara and Kogi state governors for the terrorist attacks in their state.

To them everything is just politics and nothing else. I can understand if Tinubu the failure of a president can afford to be seeing everything from the prism of Politics, but I can't understand why citizens who can be affected by his is governance will follow suit with ni benefit inherent in it for them.

The crazy thing is even the kidnappings are under-reported in the news. I saw a video last week on TikTok posted by a Yoruba radio station on their page. A woman went on the program to narrate how kidnappers invaded their church during a revival program; they killed the guest revivalist, kidnapped the host pastor's wife, kidnapped the woman's son and dozens of other church members. When the woman mentioned the name of her town which is located between Ekiti and Kwara state borders, I swear I've never read about the incident in the news till that moment. The incident never made the news, if not for that woman going on the program to beg for government's intervention and possibly donation(the kidnappers initial demand was 1 billion for everyone kidnapped, then they reduced it to N500m), nobody would even know such incident happened.

Now imagine pockets of such incidents happening in villages and towns around those areas which neither made the news nor get mentioned on social media because of how remote those areas are

so where exactly do we deploy our already overstretched soldiers to?

it is not as if we have an easily replenished limitless pool to deploy

the nigerian army is pushing a recruitment exercise, bit the other harsh truth imho is that the people most interested/suited for the army as grunts/recruits are northerners - poor norherners who are already ideologically compromised

we also have a problem of a corrupt military hierarchy who continue to divert funds to their personal projects. we are discussing a project now where an OATT is saying money from a construction project should cover his new hotel as well. so how much funding for hardware, fuel, equipment etc is being diverted?

This should be the story you're talking about

https://www.nairaland.com/8681568/bandits-refuse-release-over-30

Imagine raising 11 million plus other items, yet they refused to release the victims. Imagine what it takes a village to raise 11 million naira.

Tinubu knew Nigeria's security issue before he entered. He knew our soldiers are less than 250k. He knew everything you know.

So anyone telling you how the problem started from the Tower of Babel is more interested in winning the argument, than calling out his failure.

Every election winner put out their best foot in their first tenure. If our security situation is his best so far, you are more likely to die in the next four years from insecurity, than in his past four years.

We are talking about life here; not sea port, or roads, or ethnic or political appointments. His friends are parroting online that Northerners want to bring him down with insecurity

Any common man like me can choose to believe that, until it happens to you. Then, you'll know that Tinubu does not care of you die.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 11:24am On May 31
Had Peter Obi agreed to run with Atiku in 2023 we wouldn't be dealing with this failure right now.

Irrespective of how emotional anyone gets about this, neither Atiku or Obi can defeat an incumbent Tinubu alone. 2023 will repeat itself next year because of pride and emotional politics.

this is the actual goal of the bandits terrorists - this is not about money - this is about creating a climate of fear and despair

https://www.britannica.com/topic/terrorism

terrorism, the calculated use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. Terrorism has been practiced by political organizations with both rightist and leftist objectives, by nationalistic and religious groups, by revolutionaries, and even by state institutions such as armies, intelligence services, and police.
their objective is not money - but an islamic state

At least I was very vocal about a Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023. I didn't want it, not because I had anything against Islam, but in the hands of an extremist, it is a problem

And it's not just Islam. Any extremist in a religion is setting things up for disaster.

But no...There are Christians like me and believed it doesn't mean anything. In 3 years, Tinubu has matched the number of killings of past presidents since 1999....In just 3 years.

2027 is here. Anybody can convince themselves that a Muslim-Muslim ticket means nothing.

Just know that Tinubu's best in security is what you have seen; A Nigeria where you cannot travel by road with peace of mind.

I saw a video where a vehicle broke down in Kogi state, and the passengers just began to run out of panic. Nobody was chasing them, and everybody including the driver was scared to even fix the vehicle.

That's the Nigeria we have today.

Bros…..I do not understand all these excuses you’re creating for the master strategist.

The fact is, everybody is aware that Tiefnubu is fantastically corrupt to the core. That’s why everybody dey carry move mad, because na “I chop, you chop” naim be Tiefnubu’s slogan.

The so-called corrupt military hierarchy are people he personally chose and placed in those positions, and they are simply modelling his body language and actions in the way they carry out their duties.

Most men here already deal with different levels of urgent matters in their personal lives and still find a way to prioritise them to achieve whatever goals they have set for themselves at the end of the day. I don’t see how a so-called master strategist would spend years as an opposition leader calling out these same issues and still not have a clear roadmap on how to deal with them.

The fact that you’re asking where they should deploy our already overstretched soldiers is baffling, to be honest. It’s not as if we are fighting a conventional war, so I do not see how waiting for new army recruits to come on board would solve the problem. Like I stated earlier, they should use all the resources we currently have instead of doing nothing.

We have the navy, air force, dss, mopol, customs, efcc and others already trained in the use of firearms. Tiefnubu and Makinde should deploy those available resources alongside local hunters, vigilantes, Civil Defence, their agberos, and other private security outfits to tackle the issue. This should be done across states experiencing these issues because, when there’s a will, there’s always a way. The fact is that your guy is not willing to do his job!

By the way, it is not a hidden fact that insecurity has been a problem for a long time, and the so-called master strategist, while in opposition, was busy putting the blame on the then president. As someone who harboured the ambition of becoming president long before he eventually got there, he has had more than enough time to think about solutions and how to tackle this crisis head-on.

I make bold to say that it is the clear lack of leadership, care for human lives, his nonchalant attitude towards these killings, and failure to take any action to deter them that has emboldened these demons. He’s literally surrendered and allowed the continued killings of innocent citizens because they are not his own children.

For my life, I never see any fighter wey dey fold hand dey shalaye while collecting punches during a fight. Abi you don see am before? Tiefnubu and his people should stop all the shalaye and let him do his job!

He’s literally surrendered and allowed the continued killings of innocent citizens because they are not his own children.

For my life, I never see any fighter wey dey fold hand dey shalaye while collecting punches during a fight. Abi you don see am before? Tiefnubu and his people should stop all the shalaye and let him do his job!
you have 10 police men and you have robberies in 6 estates at the same time. you need to deploy a minimum of 5 policemen to each robbery. so where do you sen dteh police men to, knowing that at least four of these robberies are by the same gang who are coordinating with each other?

Did this issue of 10 Policemen happen today?

Is Tinubu not aware that we have 10 Policemen for only 6 estates?

What exactly was the plan to increase the number of Policemen?

But when there's protest for good governance in 36 states of the federation the police always have enough men to disrupt all the protests despite protests being guaranteed by the constitution.

All these excuses no be am at all.

If this present government has the willpower to fight banditary/terrorism/fulani militia to a stop, they will get the job done. When Buhari was interested in fighting IPOB in the southeast, didn't he send the miliary boys gun blazing after them?

and did the military boys win?

does a sit at home look like victory?

or videos of government official being killed or beheaded?

coordinating security for protest is different from fighting terrorists who have a completely different agenda and are armed and supported by foreign interests
