Commonsense. Why in the seven worlds would a network throttle down download speed to 500kb just for this flimsy excuse after i paid a whooping N40,000 undecided

I don’t even want to understand how some of you guys think.
start your own network and make a resourves thats limited to you (bandwidth), unlimited to your customers.

FYI i have an unlimited data subscription on another network that cost less than half if what op pays. The only difference between me and op is his is 24 hrs but has a fixed time window everyday.

I do download speed of up to 6mb/s. There are months i even use 1TB of data.

You can’t charge N40,000 and come up with very ridiculous terms that wasn’t stated anywhere before payment. Then people like you would make others believe its a normal thing when in fact it is an infringement on the right of the customer.

There is 5g here but it appears as though the decoder doesn't pick the signal.
As you can see from the attached picture, it says the 5g is strong, however, the sugnal bar for 5G appears blank while those of 4G are populated. I don't know what to make of it.
Please what link did you use to access this page?

I was using spectranet Fibre on air, all of a sudden, they discontinued their service in my area, saying that we are only two using it and they are not making enough money. I casually switched to Airtel ODU as mtn fiber is not in my estate and I was wowed. It is amazing, maybe it is because I'm leaving in third floor and have good elevation.

Also my experience greatly improved when I set the signal to 5g/4g/3g

On a contrary i have had nice experience with it. It has its down time but get fast in less than an 30mins to 1 hrs my neighbors amd my tvs and phones are connected to it yet it’s still fast with out buffering. Location is Ikotun.
I think I need this for when I go 9ja
what happens if you dont re subscribe for like 5 to 6 months ?
Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by josielewa(m): 3:37pm On May 31
i conect my laptop and phone, tv, and about 4 other guys use their laptop and phones on the sam enetwork. if Mtn fibre is active in your area, go for it. The only downside to mtn fibre is fibre cut due to fibre damage from road reconstruction or ferocious wind.
Yampotatocarrot:
Please, how many devices (both TV and Phones) can be connected to it?

Wanted to go for the MTN fibre whatever, since they started connecting the wire in my area few weeks back, now I'm hearing of this one.

Same #25,000 (except the initial 40k for Airtel installation) now confused which one to go for.
Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Gamo89: 3:52pm On May 31
My Experience
1)The first month is unlimited, when you renew the subscription the next month 25k=1TB,45K=1.5TB.

2)If you've exhausted the renewal subscription the highest download mpbs you ll get is 2mbps it won't go beyond that(from 18-46mbps - 1.03-1.89mbps).

3)Most time when the wifi signal is showing the (!) I switch the network mode from Auto to 4G and it starts working perfect.

4)When I discovered people who I gave password shared to almost everyone in my street(25-30 users), Most time within 2 weeks 25k renewal sub is finished.

5)I added only people who I want to access the wifi to the Wifi Whitelist(they shared the password again asual it not working only those I allowed worked).

That Airtel ODU is so useless I dashed it my useless landlady son while packing out from my former apartment.
It might work very in your new location. All the networks are like that.

My 5g MTN router dey show me shege at my place at Obantoko, Abk.

But if o carry my router enter Abiola way to test, it give 60-150mbps. I wanted recorded 600mbps.

Immediately am back home, about 4km distance, shege will load back onto the router.

[quote author=Plotinus post=139521365]Hello guys, I bought the Airtel ZLT W154R PLUS (Airtel ODU) today, for 40,000 naira because I heard its unlimited.
But I have an issue with the device. I stream videos in 4k and browse really fast. However, my download speed is terribly bad, as it download in kilobytes (50kb -300kb). How can browsing be so fast and download speed so slow?
Bro i can tell you for sure that it's an intentional way of restricting people from downloading unnecessarily.

This is just marketing versus technical reality.
Unlimited: Yes, to attract customers.
1 week good performance. But their Network architects are looking at people's usage and ability of
their equipment to handle.
Once they see you want to start heavy (Gb) downloading, they just throttle the device to Kb speeds
The unlimited is still there O. So you cannot say they lied.

That is the bad-faith mentality that majority of Nigerians operate with - business is never successful unless the other party is getting shafted

just imagine. try get a rod, and take your antenna up high to where your gp tank is and recheck the signal, it might cost you more wires, but its worth the try, just remove everything and install in a high position, then check the signal. Airtel is good, its just the quack installers. Used about 680gb this month alone.
Are you serious, 680Gig in just one month? shocked

Na wetin you dey download?

Well done ooo Airtel PPRO
Commonsense indeed

they should have pre- informed customers of the pros and cons if that is the case. Not collecting exorbitant amount like this and tagging it unlimited with high speed then giving customers far below their expectations.
no mind the over sabi.

Get back to the agent that sold this to you, firstly the antenna that is placed outside may not be properly placed which is like to be an error from their installer. Secondly the agent should always give you after buying services like escalation of problems like the one you having to their office after which you will be thought how to troubleshoot or if they are going to have to escalate the problem to their backend gurus to Fix it for you. If you buy the ODU from a good marketer you wouldn’t be having most of these issues.. I know someone who’s their marketer that’s why I am able to see through this..

Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Odidigboigbo(m): 6:09pm On May 31
Airtell OUD unlimited is a big scam. I don't blame them but NCC. The network is very poor. I can't even use it to stream netflix, I didn't think twice when MTN came to my estate. I have to abandon it for MTN fibre x, at least, I have rest of mind.

I have used it for over five months and I have different models of it. If not for the bad network which is usual with Airtel, it's the cheapest data plan currently in Nigeria
Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by alkines(m): 6:52pm On May 31
My experience with the Airtel ODU should be like 75% good. It has its off days but largely i have been enjoying it for almost 6months now.

The installer that came to install mine wanted to install it somewhere, i was the one who told him where there is good signal in my house which worked perfectly.

The installers don’t know your house like you do, you should know where network is the strongest in your house and instruct them to install it there.

I get up to 20mbps in remote area.

I’m at the verge of paying for mtn fiber

The 25k per month is the 50mbps option right?

Why does it them exceed that for you?

I get up to 250mbps mtn in my home using just my phone without fiber
So I’m hoping even if I do a 50mbps it’ll go over that some times
Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Concierge: 9:41pm On May 31
