total number of soldiers may be less than 250,000

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geJoniON7SQ

i have shared this repeatedly. this is the reality we are in.

we have theaters of war in the east, up north, in the middle belt

so where exactly do we deploy our already overstretched soldiers to?

it is not as if we have an easily replenished limitless pool to deploy

https://punchng.com/coas-announces-recruitment-plan-new-army-bases/

the nigerian army is pushing a recruitment exercise, bit the other harsh truth imho is that the people most interested/suited for the army as grunts/recruits are northerners - poor norherners who are already ideologically compromised

we also have a problem of a corrupt military hierarchy who continue to divert funds to their personal projects. we are discussing a project now where an OATT is saying money from a construction project should cover his new hotel as well. so how much funding for hardware, fuel, equipment etc is being diverted?
Was Tinubu not aware of this challenges before campaigning and promising solutions if elected as the president? If Obi had won and security in the SW had gotten to this level, will you hear any excuses?

and did the military boys win?

does a sit at home look like victory?

or videos of government official being killed or beheaded?

coordinating security for protest is different from fighting terrorists who have a completely different agenda and are armed and supported by foreign interests
Sit-at-home is a non violent means of protest; no government can force people to go out if tbey choose not to. Freedom of movement is a fundamental human right guaranteed by the constitution.

I am simply telling you that the government chooses what it decides to prioritize (quashing peaceful protests that are legal) and you should stop making excuses for them. It's irksome reading some of those excuses.

On this insecurity issue, there's now a trend on social media, especially TikTok.

Young Nigerians are dropping "farewell videos" that if they're ever kidnapped and taken hostage, their families should not negotiate with the kidnappers for their release.

Their families should take it that they're dead and move on with their lives because they refuse to be used as tools to enrich the bad actors.

In the words of one TikToker, Josi,

"I've told my family, my wife, my siblings, my kid...if you ever get a call that I have been kidnapped and you should pay X amount of money, look at the time and record the moment of that call as my time of death. Pick no further calls after that. Because I for don kpai. I'll rather kpai than for these people to take me and treat me in the inhumane ways they've been treating Nigerians. It will never happen. Na business abi? I will be the most stubborn person you have ever attempted to pick up. See I don go. Record it as my time of death, and take no further calls. Do not indulge or engage with no other person. You will not make a dime out of this body bla bla bla.....'"

I don see like four of these suicidal videos on TikTok these past week, and it's worrying.

And the scary part is that lots of Nigerians are liking and sharing the videos, meaning they agree with the sentiments expressed.

When people get to the point where they believe death is preferable to the possibility of surviving a kidnapping, it shows a complete collapse of confidence in the state's ability to secure their lives.

It means the situation is now dire, and hopeless. No society should normalize this, and no government should be comfortable with it.

Try not to get kid.naped or even kill.dd in today's Nigeria because the criminals in power are more interested in next year election. You are on your own.

Just like someone said above, villages, towns in Kwara, Benue, Planteau, kogi and others where these bastardsss wreck havoc are still deserted up to this day.
Some are still been attack but are not reported in the news because our attention is on this unfortunate incident in Oyo state.

you have 10 police men and you have robberies in 6 estates at the same time. you need to deploy a minimum of 5 policemen to each robbery. so where do you sen dteh police men to, knowing that at least four of these robberies are by the same gang who are coordinating with each other?
I’m guessing from this analogy of yours that if you were in charge of this scenario, you’d simply fold your hands like Tiefnubu and allow the robbers to do as they please because you only have 10 policemen. Na that excuse for inaction you dey try sell here? Make dem just fold hand and do nothing?!

How about going after the robbers in at least one estate first and making an example of them to the rest?

Egbon... if I’m being honest, this analogy of yours is part of the main problem. If you, as a normal citizen who isn’t part of Tiefnubu’s cabal, can readily create all sorts of excuses on his behalf, then I can understand why your guy is moving like a blind bat without people around him telling him the true situation on the ground.

By the way, the question shouldn’t just be where you deploy the 10 policemen. The question should be why, after knowing for years that these robberies keep happening repeatedly, you’ve refused to mobilise every available resource to tackle the problem.

If robberies are happening in six estates at the same time, are the 10 policemen the only security personnel available? What happened to the army, navy, air force, dss, civil defence, local vigilantes, efcc, private security outfits, customs, and every other resource at your disposal?

That’s exactly my point. You’re acting as if the government only has one tool available when that’s clearly not the case.

The insecurity issue didn’t start yesterday. The so-called master strategist spent years in opposition criticising the previous government over the same problem. If after all that time the only answer is, “We don’t have enough policemen,” then what exactly was the strategy? And why is he looking for a second term?

Maybe you should share this take with the families of those who have lost their lives to these demons, or those whose loved ones are currently in captivity.

As long as we still have people supporting and defending this government even in the face of this carnage, attack on the citizens and the unprecedented hunger in the land, I doubt if the government would ever take responsibility.
Even baba Emilokan said nobody should pity him because he knew what he was getting himself into. Yet, we still have people defending and explaining away the ineptitude of the president.

Training for Manchester 10km race in 6 weeks with aims of completing in 55 to 60 mins which is 5.30-6.00min/km pace.
Ran a great time of 56 mins 30 secs in the Great Manchester 10km placing me 5000 out of 40,000 runners and top 500 in my age bracket. I may have finished below 55 mins if my wife didn't book us in the slowest wave of the race. Spent so much energy zigzagging between slow runners, getting stopped in my stride and sapping my energy to keep running across the road to overtake etc. I also started from the very back of the field meaning more slow runners to overtake. Heat was also a factor.

Did you let the side down or not?

Are you relegated to the kitchen to the end of the year?

Did your designer trainers fail you?

From my time you should know I won handsomely. You think any 10km run below 1 hour na beans?

They even recruited 2 of their other friends to try and beat me when they saw what I'm posting in training. The main girl they thought could beat me is one tall athlete who trains everyday, no body fat at all and runs that Manchester 10km every year. Unfortunately for them, she came in at 57 mins to my 56.

Now what is your own victory prize?

Foot massage for the next 3 months?

Acknowledgement of your dominance and role as the lord and master of the manor?

Now that the wenches have been put in their place we must flex 😁

Bros…..I do not understand all these excuses you’re creating for the master strategist.

The fact is, everybody is aware that Tiefnubu is fantastically corrupt to the core. That’s why everybody dey carry move mad, because na “I chop, you chop” naim be Tiefnubu’s slogan.

The so-called corrupt military hierarchy are people he personally chose and placed in those positions, and they are simply modelling his body language and actions in the way they carry out their duties.

Most men here already deal with different levels of urgent matters in their personal lives and still find a way to prioritise them to achieve whatever goals they have set for themselves at the end of the day. I don’t see how a so-called master strategist would spend years as an opposition leader calling out these same issues and still not have a clear roadmap on how to deal with them.

The fact that you’re asking where they should deploy our already overstretched soldiers is baffling, to be honest. It’s not as if we are fighting a conventional war, so I do not see how waiting for new army recruits to come on board would solve the problem. Like I stated earlier, they should use all the resources we currently have instead of doing nothing.

We have the navy, air force, dss, mopol, customs, efcc and others already trained in the use of firearms. Tiefnubu and Makinde should deploy those available resources alongside local hunters, vigilantes, Civil Defence, their agberos, and other private security outfits to tackle the issue. This should be done across states experiencing these issues because, when there’s a will, there’s always a way. The fact is that your guy is not willing to do his job!

By the way, it is not a hidden fact that insecurity has been a problem for a long time, and the so-called master strategist, while in opposition, was busy putting the blame on the then president. As someone who harboured the ambition of becoming president long before he eventually got there, he has had more than enough time to think about solutions and how to tackle this crisis head-on.

I make bold to say that it is the clear lack of leadership, care for human lives, his nonchalant attitude towards these killings, and failure to take any action to deter them that has emboldened these demons. He’s literally surrendered and allowed the continued killings of innocent citizens because they are not his own children.

For my life, I never see any fighter wey dey fold hand dey shalaye while collecting punches during a fight. Abi you don see am before? Tiefnubu and his people should stop all the shalaye and let him do his job!
No be the same military wey he say dey overstretched Tinubu deploy to Benin in April 2026 for inauguration of government officials in Benin Republic? last year we saw Naija airforce fighter jets in combat operation in the same Benin to quell military coup. This argument of military been overstretched doesn't hold.

This is why I told GloriousGbola those excuses he was giving on behalf of FG are actually not it. The government just chooses what it decides to prioritize while other issues are left unattended to.

It's just the same way Buhari government left a lot of roads not repaired and then decided to start constructing railway line to Niger republic and we have people making excuses on behalf of Buhari's government explaining the benefits of constructing that railway line.🤦‍♂️

I genuinely hope we get tk a point where we decide the lives of Nigerians is enough to determine if a leader deserves to win elections or not.

At some point this country will have to put her citizens first.

Your score card as a leader should be reduction in deaths of your citizens.
You fail that and nothing else should be a talking point for you.
