Go back to FBN let them reconfirm the status of the transaction, GTB has little to do about it. They can even recall the transaction since it hasn't hit your account in GTB. Go with your GTB bank statements from a day before the transaction till date. In that case FBN will have no excuse but to follow up for the reconciliation, your money is definitely sitting in one of their suspense GL accounts |

ceejay80s:If you go to Firstbank with any complaint you will fill form then wait for a very long time for your turn then they will ask you to come back the following week. This is if you are very lucky their network is good. |

If u have a lawyer friend that loves small trouble then contact him/her to write either/or both banks on your behalf (pro bono). These fuckers need to be taught lessons. Na so dem do me during covid era I got debited Transaction failed on pos terminal Banks weren't working I wrote emails Spent monies on calling customer care No level after almost 2 weeks Had to call out gtb on Facebook and got the issue resolved within 48hrs |

Write to CBN and copy the banks, they will resolve it sharply. Or better still, threaten to report them to CBN first. Once CBN gets involved, they'll resolve it sharply, because there's usually a fine attached if I'm right. You can check CBN website for the mail to report to. |

Jef4u:When fbn says its succeessful, its always successful. Your money is with gtb |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 4:34pm On Jun 02 |
Jef4u:It's not the fault of either banks. Nigeria banks are very fast in inter-bank transactions. NIBSS experienced network downtime and it affected interbank transfers. Reach out to the issuing bank for resolution. |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 4:36pm On Jun 02 |
femi4:Many successful transactions were reversed on that date. He should reach out to the originating bank. |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by femi4: 4:39pm On Jun 02 |
Rutherinspace:FBN dont move like that...if its reversed, it will be in your account even with the charges reversed |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 4:49pm On Jun 02 |
femi4:You clearly don't know how inter-bank transactions work. FBN is not the one initiating the reversal. There was a glitch at the settlement system. They are responsible for most reversals and not the banks. |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by femi4: 4:55pm On Jun 02 |
Rutherinspace:I ve been using FBN for decades. I am not new to glitch. Whenever money got reversed, you ll see it in your statement or mobile bank history...they are so efficient like that Few yrs ago, they had 24hrs glitch n everything was rectified the following day with reversed notification / emails etc |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 5:04pm On Jun 02 |
femi4:The glitch was not caused by FBN. Billions were trapped. FBN can confirm if the transaction was successful or not by checking their automated reconciliation or acknowledgement from the receiving bank. Most of the glitches are not from the banks. This was from the settlement system and it messes things up. |

Rutherinspace:How do I get my money back on time please? |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 5:21pm On Jun 02 |
Jef4u:The bank that debited you is responsible for tracing your funds. Call/visit the bank and ask them to trace your transfer using the session ID. They'll update you on the status of the transaction. |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by femi4: 5:34pm On Jun 02 |
Rutherinspace:And where did I say it was caused by FBN Read to understand not to argue |

Jef4u:When we tell you people to use online banking like opay and moniepoint, you people will be shouting they don't have office up and down. The ones that have office how far? |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Jef4u(op): 5:53pm On Jun 02 |
eallstar:There are occasions that needs convensional banks e.g. salary and some contract payments |
| Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by Rutherinspace: 5:58pm On Jun 02 |
femi4:If you understand how inter-bank transfers work you won't be typing FBN being efficient and reversals. I can teach you the workflow if you're willing to learn and then you'll realize what you typed doesn't make sense. |

Jef4u:Sorry oh Please send your official complaint against the banks to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Consumer Protection Department at cpd@cbn.gov.ng. Before escalating an issue to the CBN, you are required to first lodge the complaint directly with your bank and allow them a minimum of 14 days (or the stipulated regulatory timeframe) to resolve it. When you send your email to the CBN, include the following details: Your full name, account number, and contact details The name and branch of the bank you are reporting The date and channel of the transaction in question The exact amount involved Details of your complaint and proof that you already reported it to your bank (e.g., Complaint Reference Number, screenshots of previous emails, and receipts) You can also copy contact@fccpc.gov.ng (Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) to ensure wider oversight. |

Opay and Palmpay will not even try this shii but trust the usual brick and mortar bank in Nigeria to always drag their already battered image in the mud, ordinarily, both banks don't even need to involve the customer going back and forth before this would be resolved but trust me, Nigeria will always be Nigeria, anyhowness is a big thing here. |
