OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU BY OGBOMOSO SONS AND DAUGHTERS HOME AND ABROAD.

The entire Ogbomoso community would like to appeal to the President to reconsider the appointment of Principal Officers of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede Ogbomoso, it is quite saddening when the Community read a letter of the Minister of Education which directed the Governing Council of the institution to appoint some people from the same institution as a Rector, Registar and Bursar.

This very position of the Minister is totally against the spirit of fairness, equity and justice. The Minister of Education acted against the interest of the host community and Oyo State by not considering anyone from the environment for any major appointments in the institution.

Though the institution is a federal School but it was sited in our Community to boost our economy and develop human capacity, the Minister failed in his responsibility to ensure the interests of the host community is well protected by illegally and tactically approving the appointments of three individuals from the Federal Polytechnic Ede to Lord themselves over our Community.


Mr President, several institutions were created in recent time and most of those institutions are being led by the indigenes of the host Community, it is quite surprising that the Honourable Minister of Education has decided to compromise competent individuals within our Community to protect the interests of his cronies. Ogbomoso Community will not succumb to this malicious act of injustice of the Honourable Minister who has failed to act on several allegations of financial infractions against the former Rector up till this moment. The entire Ogbomoso community hereby appeals to the President to:

1) Set up a fact finding Committee to examine the financial activities of the institution from 2021 till date.
2) Order a fresh exercise for the appointment of the Principal Officers.
3) Immediate removal of
1. Chief Matthew O. Adesanya
2. Chief Mrs Monisola A. T'ẹgbẹ
3. Alhaji Aminu Bala Sokoto
4. Alhaji Mosu Goba Mintar from the Governing Council of the institution.
4) Set up a Panel to investigate all contracts that have been awarded since 2022.
5) Completion of the permanent site of the institution with the access roads.

This is absolutely disgusting. What is internal issue of federal polytechnic Ayede got to do with Ogbomosho abduction? What an aberration that the host community is striving for headship of federal institution as a birth right. Poly Ede has been created more than forty years ago, no indigene of Ede have become deputy Rector let alone Rector until recently. OAU has never produced an Ife an indigene as Vice chancellor till day. The most barbaric aspect is a learned professor who suppose to know better still sign the purported and direction less letter. It is a pity.
