Has Mbaka been hounded to lead protests against Buhari and Tinubu like its being done to Adeboye

Keep the same energy you are using for Adeboye for Mbaka as well
Mbaka is very open about his support for Buhari and Tinubu. An unapologetic APC man. And he has been cancelled too by his lovers

Maybe na why him case dey different. Pa Adeboye says he's non partisan (not like I want him to lead a protest oh).

Because I am seeing you want to make it an Igbo vs Yoruba matter. Na Yoruba RCCG member say e no go attend church again, because Adeboye no lead protest.

The lady clearly lacks emotional intelligence, if not she would've read the room that people are genuinely pissed with the current APC government at the federal level and are not ready to listen to another government apologist gaslight them again.

She just set herself up for drags. For sonsone who gets regular gigs from the APC government in Lagos, she ought to know any pro-govwrnment opinion she's airing will be tagged as she hustling for her next paycheck.

If I was in her shoes, I would rather keep quite than make the kind of mess she's found herself now. It seems even her fellow gospel musicians have joined in calling her out sef

The dragging on Adeboye is unnecessary but I expected it. And very soon, all of them will be dragged.

Adeboye is 84. To be honest, why do we need an 84 year old man to lead a protest?

But my issue with Nigerian men of God is their inability to speak, boldly take a side, and condemn what is wrong. It's horrible

"300 people were killed in Kwara (For example". The Nigerian Pastor will drop one post on SM, and then go ahead to do "FAITH and POWER" conference that week.

If we had a Christian-Christian ticket, and Nigeria was like this, I trust the Muslims to be the perfect opposition. And yes, they are right.

Adeboye should not be dragged to protest. But yes, they should speak up. Condemn the government, rather than telling us "All parties are in your church".

Lols, you go wail tire. Only those that know human history well enough know all the gods of religion had existed in the past as humans (gifted humans).

Calling gifted humans such as Messi, Ronaldo a god (or goddess) and regarding them as supernatural entities is an age-long practice.

If in doubt, ask old people in your village if you're lucky to find such people that know human history deeply.

Like I've said before, if gifted people like Messi and Ronaldo had existed 1000 years ago, you'd be worshipping them now as God ignorantly and argue with those of us that took time to research deeply about them they were not humans because people would have built a religion around them to exploit and enslave others.

The African gods and the gods of religion generally are rightly called early beings or first beings and are the ancestors of present day humans. Only religious people call them gods.

As an agnostic, I don't see them as gods because there's no proof to show they're the source of the universe.

Anyway, the honest and knowledgeable ones among the pagans in your community know that their gods (deities) were once humans that were deified in the past for achieving one historic or memorable feat or the other.

You can keep wailing 😂😂😂😂
Omorr, you nailed it here kpatakpata. Sango is called god of thunder, but people didn't realise he was a human being who claimed to have power to command thunder. So also they didn't know Jesus to be a human being. They thought Jesus was actually God because he told them so. No be mumu be that?

So INEC has admitted that Wike's aide truly assessed INEC's admin database.. They've made zero arrest and there's been zero punishment..

I just want to believe that opposition parties are silent because of the Oyo state matter, if not, this breach should be the major topic of discussion..

How far with the Ogonis?

Yes they don't have the population but haven't they produced enough political aware and brilliant individuals over the years to stake a claim for the Governorship of Rivers?

Ibime:
You are incorrect on Rivers State

Odili is an Ndoni man. Ikwerre have to move with Etche, Ahoada, Ndoki etc to produce Governor

So far in the 4 Governors since 1999, there have been 2 Ikwerres, one Ndoni and one Ijaw

Contrary to what you are saying, it was an Ijaw man (Jonathan) that succeeded Amaechi with Wike, Amaechi had chosen Dakuku (Ijaw) as his successor, so there's nothing like Ikwerre rotating among themselves. They are not that dominant. Wike then passed it to an Ijaw man (Fubara) but Fubara went against the gang, if not he will be doing second term. The Igboid tribes combined have majority but not that outsized, and Ikwerre is just one of them.

Urhobos are doing the right thing cos their dominance is not absolute, there are checks and balances if they try to run roughshod

Didn't he protest against Jonathan in his 70s? He can preach but can't protest. Oya nau. Will he be quiet if it happens in Redemption Camp or one of his churches.

I don't blame him. I blame Nigerians especially the youth still carrying religion for head. And I mean both religions.

I'm saying I don't expect an 84 year old to be walking under the sun from Ojota to Alausa because of a protest. But he can be bold to call a spade a spade.

Na my issue with our own version of Christianity here be that.

I don't think it's an outright deliberate spread of false information per se, rather I think there was a mix-up over time in the roles Pastor Adeboye played and how vocal he was under past administrations.

The fact is in 2010 under Jonathan's administration, Pastor Adeboye petitioned Goodluck Jonathan over the spate of insecurity in the country and he planned to stage a one-million-man protest. RCCG collected signature of members who may be interested in the rally, but the truth is that proposed one million march never took place eventually. Below is link to the news report back then in 2010.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/10/kidnapping-rccg-petitions-jonathan-to-stage-one-million-man-protest/

Fast forward to 2020, Pastor Adeboye along with some top pastors in RCCG held a "prayer walk"/ protest against insecurity under Buhari's government and that's the video/picture that is available online which people mix-up thinking it is the proposed 2010 protest under Jonathan which never happened.

That being said, I think generally people are not happy Pastor Adeboye has not really been vocal as regards the state of things generally under this current administration like he did under Jonathan and Buhari's government. Most people believe he has a soft spot for the Tinubu's which makes him difficult for him to call Tinubu's government out directly like he did to his predecessors.

These are the words of Pa Adeboye in that link.

"The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who yesterday initiated the move, insisted that it was high time religious organisations raised awareness over the depreciating standard of security in the country, adding “we cannot afford to celebrate, clinking glasses and congratulating each other when a horrendous decimation of the most vulnerable is picking up a pace and our stock of human capital heading for the abyss.”

I wonder what happened to this kind of blunt criticism in today's Christianity.

Exactly why people are calling for him to speak up now instead of saying members should continue to pray for "our leaders".

People expect him to be firm in speaking truth to power considering the security situation now is worse than it was back then. If you ask me, I will say the people are not wrong in their expectation one bit! He portrayed himself as one who cared and spoke up when it mattered most, so he should just keep up that appearance now and not look away like it's not his concern anymore.

It's just the same way Wole Soyinka too had a lot of words for Jonathan and Buhari's administration but now he has lost his voice. Nobody really want octogenarians and nonagenarians leading any protest, but the people expect them to at least stand by their age long principle of speaking Up when things are not looking good in the country.

They have no chance

When the Igboid tribes rotate power, they will rotate it to the Ijaws for 8 years then rotate it back to themselves. They can't be adding more years to that to accommodate Ogoni

What their highest achieving politician should aim for is Senatorial seat for South East Rivers for delivering Ogoni and Eleme, and that is the current arrangement

How is this not false information?

People are forcing a tribal narrative onto the issue. Go on Twitter and see for yourself. They claim that Pastor Adeboye protested during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan because he was from the South-South, but refuses to protest now because President Tinubu is from his own region.

These are the kinds of false narratives that flood the internet. They spread so often that many people accept them without verifying the facts. It even got to the point where Eedris Abdulkareem released a song promoting this narrative, to mislead gullible people.

There are all sorts of character on Twitter. We are talking about Nairaland , this thread in particular. I don't see anybody forcing Tribal narrative into it here, rather people are seeing it from the lens of Pastor Adeboye not speaking up because Remi Tinubu is a pastor in RCCG. And there's also pictures of Pastor Adeboye eating with Tinubu's family online.

I already explain the context of the whole thing stemming from mix-up in the timeline of events. It is majorly about Pastor Adeboye being vocal against the last 2 administrations when things weren't looking good.

Perhaps you think it is okay for him to keep quiet now when he has been vocal in the past.
