As a Lagosian, we don't want any protest here pls. Everyone should lead their protest to their various polling booths next year with their voter's card. Abuja would be the best place for this kind of protest not Lagos e joo. Protest here could be hijacked by hoodlums and before you know it, looting will start

After what happened during the Endsars protest, I do not blame him. We need real action, as most most of these protests are agenda driven and just performative.

But campaign rallies are allowed. They just want to silence any criticism against the government forgetting that before they started this apc government, protest was their middle name.

You have a point but every state should protest. Lagos should not be absolved from protests especially when it's for the collective good of everybody.

You can see how insensitive some of our people are here on Nairaland. If their family members are part of the people kidnapped, you will not hear them say what they are saying now.

I hope they sustain the energy of no protest in Lagos when a president from another ethnic group emerges.

Hypocrites!
Re: “Protest Not Allowed In Lagos" - Man Confronts Oyo Kidnap Protesters by Mathewrichard99: 12:16pm On Jun 03
Wrong heading OP, It's not that the man was against protest in Lagos.....stop writing what never happened. He only stopped them from a particular location and even told them to go access other location in front.

Understanding matters a lot in life. I think the man has a solid reason for stopping them from protesting at that particular location. He said they could go to the other side but not that particular location due to what they have experienced in the past during endsars.....quite well understood.......

The good thing is Social media is like Sunlight you cant use hand to cover it, whether from top, bottom or corner the sun must shine even it as to burn your arms through

Not here to take any side, and for the record I support the right to protest, and the protesters are doing the right thing.

But the problem with protest is, eventually urchins and idle youth join in, start causing trobule (and yes, some government agent provocateurs would join in ) and before long there is mindless violence, which is accompanied by looting and stealing of property, and damage to property

And loss of life once the police moves in.

Guess who go spend money to replace all those things....as well as dealing with fallout from loss of life. No be government, or the people who started the protest. It;s the people living in the area wey go suffer am pass.

I'm sure the man saying no protest is most likely a trader or resident who has seen things in living in Lagos.

Remember ENDSARS. Started off well, ended in serious violence...which gave ammunition to the government to labell all oppositon activists as traitorous violent people.
