So the Owo massacre culprits are actually Yorubas that signed up to Al Shabbab (Somalian terrorist group). Even within moderate societies like the Yorubas, anything can happen under foreign influence |

Ibime:That is why agenda is dangerous. I am Yoruba and I know we have criminal and religious zealots among us. Recently there was a training ground for zealots discovered in Osun There are British American European born and raised people going to join ISIS. Not all terrorists are Fulani or Arab . Indoctrination knows no boundary The Omeiza name sounds like Kogi |

Adelabu sister kidnapped in Ibadan struck me for 2 reasons 1. Don't tell me bandits are approaching Ibadan 2. She took voluntary retirement from CBN civil service last year at the age of 42. While the trend across developed countries is to increase retirement age thus increasing the base of net contributors (workers) and reducing the base of net takers (pensioners), Nigeria seems to be going the other way. No reasonable country should have people retiring before 65. |

Ibime:I remember mentioning it either here or somewhere else that the attack were not carried out by Fulanis and I was hounded by many who didn't understand what was unfolding. There are BH/ISWAPvsleeper cells active around Kogi, Kwara, Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo |

Ibime:Abdulmalik Omeiza is definitely not Yoruba. Omeiza is a Kogi name |

Ibime:There is a large stretch of ungoverned forest reserve from Niger down to Oyo and with upsurge in illegal mining activities- terrorists infiltration is easy |

Ibime:Last year CBN let go over 1000 staff of the apex bank while they were doing restructure; It made the news then. I think they were paid decent terminal benefits. |

BlueRayDick:What is the difference between Twitter and Nairaland? Many people on both platforms, especially some younger users, tend to accept fake news hook line and sinker without verifying them. this thread in particular. Is A40 not on this thread as well? He was the one who asked the question, and I simply responded to it. I don't see anybody forcing Tribal narrative into it here, rather people are seeing it from the lens of Pastor Adeboye not speaking up because Remi Tinubu is a pastor in RCCG. And there's also pictures of Pastor Adeboye eating with Tinubu's family online. And you fell for that? If a former governor visits my house and dines with me, how does that become a crime? ... and more so this particular photograph being circulated is almost 20 years old. I already explain the context of the whole thing stemming from mix-up in the timeline of events. It is majorly about Pastor Adeboye being vocal against the last 2 administrations when things weren't looking good.Perhaps you are confusing Pastor Adeboye with Pastor Tunde Bakare. Pastor Adeboye has never been particularly vocal against past administrations. For the record, he spoke publicly about insecurity only once during Goodluck Jonathan's 6 year administration, twice during Buhari's administration on his 8 years reign, on the issues relating to EndsarS and insecurity, and once during Tinubu's administration in the last two years. So where exactly is this claim that he was consistently vocal against previous governments? People are always against the truth, and If you believe otherwise, can you provide verifiable facts and evidence to support it? |

Amoto94:I really hope they go through with the sentence But justice after 4 years...How does that pacify more than 20 families that lost their loved ones? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Amoto94(m): 2:28pm On Jun 03 |
raumdeuter:When you begin to profile crime/criminals by ethnicity you lose track of a whole spectrum of others who are involved in criminal activities. In as much as some of the perpetrators of kidnappings and banditry today are from a particular ethnic background it will be incorrect to attribute any reported case as being perpetrated by members of such without proper investigation. Also, security is local and we all must remain vigilant and support those in authority to combat the scourge of insecurity ravaging the country |

Same point I made about MURIC like adherents in SW who could be potential future terrorists. raumdeuter: |

MorataFC:I don't why you are being unnecessarily defensive here. I posted a link to what Adeboye said about Jonathan's government already. Below is excerpt of his opinion about Jonathan's government in 2010. "The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who yesterday initiated the move, insisted that it was high time religious organisations raised awareness over the depreciating standard of security in the country, adding “we cannot afford to celebrate, clinking glasses and congratulating each other when a horrendous decimation of the most vulnerable is picking up a pace and our stock of human capital heading for the abyssHe didn't just say the above, he actually sent a petition to Jonathan and collected signature of RCCG members who planned to join in the proposed protest. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/10/kidnapping-rccg-petitions-jonathan-to-stage-one-million-man-protest/ I'm not confusing Adeboye for anybody, you are the one reading my post with something else in your mind. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:I'm not buying the whole conspiracy theory of always linking mining activities with terrorism jare? Is it mining that is responsible for the terrorist attacks in Benue, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Ekiti and now Oyo? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 2:58pm On Jun 03 |
izzou:Na the same people say don't blame the West say make you hold your leaders in Africa accountable. Now holding the failure called Tinubu & his failed incompetent government administrators don to crime against humanity.
|
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 3:00pm On Jun 03 |
BlueRayDick:U misunderstand me. I didn't say it is because of mining. I'm just wondering why the consistent & back to back attack happening there. |

izzou:Imagine 4 useless lives even if they get killed versus the 20 innocent families wasted |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:12pm On Jun 03 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Normally, na wetin security agencies supposed do investigation and provide answer to be this. But when you see body language of government and even minister of defense already making speculations that the attacks are likely politically motivated with accusation fingers pointed at opposition, we may not really fin out the reasons. |

raumdeuter:Like..... Omoh, I don't even know what to say. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by MorataFC: 3:18pm On Jun 03 |
BlueRayDick:You are actually proving my point rather than disproving it. No one is denying that Pastor Adeboye occasionally commented on national issues. The statement you quoted was made in the context of rising insecurity, and as a religious leader, he had every right to express concern about the safety of Nigerians. The real question is about your claim, and I quote "Pastor Adeboye was vocal against the last two administrations when things weren't looking good." So far, one statement on insecurity in 6 years does not establish that he was "vocal." Even in the example you cited, the focus was insecurity and the protection of lives, not a sustained political campaign against Jonathan's government. And during Buhari's administration, he spoke out only twice. How can someone who made public comments just 3 times in 14 years be described as vocal? That is the point I am making. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:23pm On Jun 03 |
Someone caught the Adelabu sister's kidnap on camera. In my personal.opinion this doesn't look like a terrorist attack at all. It looks more like a targeted kidnap carried out with just one single vehicle in sight
The way DSS and other security agents to drill people wey dey live for this house ehn.... 🤷♂️ |
