40k is the onboarding cost. Monthly recharge of 25k and it's very much unlimited with no fup
I installed this airtel ODU at Lekki II on 20th of May and it's not working since yesterday 30th May. It's showing no internet access. I thought the initial sub should last 30 days or am I missing something. I never experienced this while I was using mtn fibre x in PH. It's so unfortunate mtn didn't cross into my estate.

my own odu is very fast hewre
45 to 70mbps on normal days
Fast is relative. This is my own internet speed. A strong infrastructure backbone is crucial for telecommunication.

Yeah, I contacted the installer this morning. He told me to disconnect the outdoor unit and reconnect after 60 secs. I did so, and I'm back on.

Is this what people usually call as routers?
Plotinus:
Thanks a lot bro, I will try it
Look at where the installer installed it. I feel this might be the reason
Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Love800(m): 2:26pm On Jun 01
Does mtn have dis same stuff?
Livegamesonly:
just imagine. try get a rod, and take your antenna up high to where your gp tank is and recheck the signal, it might cost you more wires, but its worth the try, just remove everything and install in a high position, then check the signal. Airtel is good, its just the quack installers. Used about 680gb this month alone.

What do you mean by current 5G NSA?
Deployed at where?
aieromon:
You do not have 5G signals in your location as shown in the radio signal screen on the left.

Note that the current 5G NSA deployed by Airtel and MTN rides on the existing 4G infrastructure. Nevertheless, you will enjoy great 4G+/LTE+ speeds on your capped 50mbps plan.

Is Starlink is a network on its own, just like mtn, Airtel?

Am asking to know pls, because am confused.

And what is the the meaning of Airtel odu that the OP stated?

Yes, starlink is an internet connection network on its own using satellites instead of network mast unlike Airtel, Glo, MTN.

The only difference is Glo, Airtel, MTN offers both cellular networking (make phone call, send SMS, etc) , and internet connections through SIM cards, and network masts. Starlink is internet connection focused and does that very well using satellites. Starlink is to internet connection what DSTV is to cable TV subscription.

Airtel Outdoor Unit (ODU) is more like a router, that has an outdoor unit which is connected outside your room for a better signal quality and strength, when fully charged it can last up to 3+ hours. Both ODU and starlink need reliable, and stable electricity.

There are two types of 5G - Non standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA). NSA is deployed on selected 4G mast stations by the telecom operator.

5G standalone (5G SA) and 5G non-standalone (5G NSA) are 2 types of network infrastructure.

For operators with an existing 4G LTE network, it is easier to start with 5G non-standalone (5G NSA). For this purpose, these operators use new 5G radio equipment, which they however lay over the existing 4G LTE infrastructure. This allows operators to offer 5G services faster and more cheaply, but a 5G NSA network is subject to the limitations of 4G LTE. Users enjoy a higher data rate, although 5G NSA does not allow access to certain 5G benefits that require the dedicated 5G core that is provided in 5G standalone (5G SA).

In the case of 5G SA, the operator rolls out a completely new 5G network that is entirely separate from its existing 4G infrastructure. 5G SA is a true 5G network, with 5G radios and a 5G core, that fully realizes the promised benefits of 5G.

For ordinary consumer applications, 5G SA is less necessary. Therefore, the typical user will often not notice whether the network is a 5G SA or a 5G NSA.

I think it's your settings because I have more than 2mbs on worst days
I have the same challenge. An Airtel technician set the router for me. When I contacted him about the poor network, he said it's a general problem.

tRIED IT THIS PAST MONTH OF MAY, I USED ABOUT 1 TB AND THE INTERNET SPEED REDUCED TO 512KBPS TO 1Mbps. ITS NOT TRULY UNLIMITED, WILL TRY MTN FIBRE SOON
Gamo89:
My Experience
1)The first month is unlimited, when you renew the subscription the next month 25k=1TB,45K=1.5TB.

2)If you've exhausted the renewal subscription the highest download mpbs you ll get is 2mbps it won't go beyond that(from 18-46mbps - 1.03-1.89mbps).

3)Most time when the wifi signal is showing the (!) I switch the network mode from Auto to 4G and it starts working perfect.

4)When I discovered people who I gave password shared to almost everyone in my street(25-30 users), Most time within 2 weeks 25k renewal sub is finished.

5)I added only people who I want to access the wifi to the Wifi Whitelist(they shared the password again asual it not working only those I allowed worked).

FIBRE X IS A WIRED CONNECTION. THEY WILL RUN A WIRE FROM A POLE OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE INTO YOUR HOME. THAT WIRE IS CALLED A FIBRE, AS IT CARRIES FAST INTERNET DATA TO YOUR HOME. YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE INSTALLING POLES IN YOUR STREET, AND PASSING TINY WIRES FROM THE POLES TO PEOPLES HOMES. ITS STILL SCARCE BUT ITS BEING DEPLOYED GRADUALLY.
