I don’t think they are accusing Nigeria of practicing forced labor, rather what they are saying is, Nigeria and the others are importing good from countries that practice forced labor.

That we do not have laws against our trading partners. The US wants us to sanction countries like China and India where we source for cheap goods and forced labor is said to be practiced.

Mind you, US citizens are addicted to Chinese goods and can’t seems to have enough of cheap good from that country.

You can’t make this sh1t up, we are called a 3rd world country for a reason.

Putting Nigerian on a list that contravenes forced labor law is laughable. In Nigeria there's no forced labor but people are force to do hazardous jobs because of the high poverty rate and very low profitable jobs.

Any increase on tax tariff on Nigerian businesses Will increase the poverty rate and swell the number of people forced to do hazardous jobs because of hunger

What's the difference, Chinese and Indians with Lebanese turned Nigerians into cheap labour workers, you should give kudos to America for trying to standardize labour practice. Even the so called Nigerian minimum wage, how far can it go but here you are Castigating America for trying to liberates your labour force from cheap labour and forced labour practice, you are like are slave who has a key tied to his neck but still looking for the slave owner to free him.
Shey na by force to exports to America, they should find another market.

So if we are not practicing forced labor as you said why the sanction.
And if it's by buying goods from countries that practice forced labor. Don't you think the number would increase as 90% of the world bus also from China and India

God bless you.

This is my own opinion also.
The US is in debts and prices of minerals have increased, another way they can get minerals almost for free is by manipulating African economies.

dalass:
The US is totally committed to crippling economies of Africa so that they can have weak currencies favourable for Western countries to keep buying their raw materials cheap for their own industries under any made-up story undecided lipsrsealed undecided

The USA is fast losing relevance. Nobody is scared of the USA anymore. China is now the world leader
No. Plenty of people are terrified of the US. But nobody respects or trusts the US anymore. That's what changed.

And the prime reason given for the tariffs was that the forced labor practices gave these countries a competitive advantage over US made products

This is simply protectionism.

Produce for your people...........the fallacy of export-driven growth is a Western-engineered deception! Export stuff you have a price advantage and as much as possible add value b4 doing so! If we have what the world wants ..........US threat of tariffs will not amount to much

We have what the world want but our leadership is the problem.

Do you ever believe a refinery can work in Nigeria. I guess no

Just as no one believes 24hrs light is possible until the right leadership gets involved

For the US tariff is a strategy to stay afloat, must rare earth minerals are gotten from Africa and manipulating their economy, gives debt ridden US chance to get these minerals almost for free.

The world?

I know it's not united states of America you are talking about.

Majority of the countries in the world would not have food or government and they would be ravished by diseases like polio if not for USA that is trading with them, giving them basic supplies for stipends.

Since the 1940s they have been the mega super world power.
Stop supporting Islamic terrorists and you will experience the good side of Uncle Sam.
