rabazamba:I just posted a corresponding report on the issue. The statement was actually made last year, but the media failed to give it proper coverage because it did not fit the narrative they wanted to promote. |

BlueRayDick:The speaker corroborated that, it might not be far from the truth.

MorataFC:Is it the Tinubu controlled media that you're referring to or the opposition led media cos I could argue they deliberately failed to amplify it so it won't make Tinubu look bad that Pst Adeboye is questioning his handling of insecurity. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:24pm On Jun 04 |
izzou:Since I've figured he may be RCCG member, I just decided to let him be and not push it further. He spent the whole day trying to change the direction of the discourse. The ask was simple : "Show a post where Adeboye criticized this administration last year" Instead he is showing us: “You can only advise the commander-in-chief. You can’t command him, because if you command the commander-in-chief, then you become the commander of the commander-in-chief. That doesn’t make sense. Why should I bother myself to continue the conversation ? When he actually thinks the above is one and same with Adeboye writing a strong worded petition to Jonathan, threatening to carry out a protest and even going about to collect signature of members who desire to participate in the protest? |

Ellexy:Could it be true that his opponents are politicizing it like he claimed |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by rabazamba: 5:26pm On Jun 04 |
MorataFC:Ok so what Pulse posted was re-echoing what Bishop Adeboye has already said last year. It was confusing because the post was made on June 2nd on X according to the article. The confusing part is his consistent use of 90 days maybe |

izzou:I will agree to anything just to save the children first, If you want to have an idea what they are going through, try sleep on your balcony or outside tonight and see how many flies and mosquitoes descend on you, Now imagine 7yr olds going through that for 3weeks I even believe some of the kids would have died in these time. Given the horrific situation they are in Let us get them out first and deal with anything else after that |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:32pm On Jun 04 |
raumdeuter:I'm not saying they shouldn't negotiate, but the truth is the moment word spreads that the federal government of Nigeria was wiling to pay a billion naira, release terrorists, amend laws and provide vehicles for terrorists ; it's only a matter of time before more and more terrorist groups follow the same MO to bring the nation no it's knees over time. The fact that these demands even leaked is a failure of security and intelligence. Sometimes I wonder what exactly is the work of DSS in this country Sha. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 5:35pm On Jun 04 |
BlueRayDick:If you agree, and then eventually capture them, then it makes sense. The problem with Nigeria is that we pay ransoms with no plan to catch these guys. That BBC documentary in Zamfara would forever live rent-free in my head. How a Governor went to pay ransom and ended it there. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:47pm On Jun 04 |
izzou:Therein lies the problem. The moment that money is paid the terrorists will cash out and disappear into thin air. The terrorists and their affiliate will move on to another kidnap job and will keep moving across state lines unchallenged. I dey reason say normally if things work the way they ought to work in this country, the moment the kidnap was reported within hours, DSS, The army and maybe the airforce should've set a joint taskforce that will give those guys a chase or at least track them via unmanned drones deep inside the forest. At least DSS would have office in a state like Oyo, coordinating a search and rescue mission within hours after the incident happened would've saved everybody this headache now. Not that after the terrorists have moved for days, then we start setting up a team and deploying forest guards. |

MorataFC:So you didn't know it was streamed by millions of people when you were accusing the media of not amplifying what he said then? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel(m): 5:55pm On Jun 04 |
BlueRayDick:I thought we all know what DSS stands for. The work of the DSS is to track people who criticize government officials or government policies online, and also to intimidate/harass opposition members. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 5:59pm On Jun 04 |
raumdeuter:Could it be true that Tinubu politicised this same insecurity during Jonathan's era? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 6:02pm On Jun 04 |
I blame Hollywood. We've always had this vision of James Bond, Rambo, Mission Impossible type security forces or agents swooping in to save the day and kill all the bad guys whereas it's infinitely more complex in real life. raumdeuter: |

1st Image: Even Punch News carried the story as if it was a recent gist. 2nd and 3rd Image: Older publications of the same story in Nov 2025. 9ja Media should do better with all this recycling of older stories (including images and videos) as new ones.

Ellexy:I don't think you understand the question I was responding to. The over 1 million people who were at the camp ground or watched the programme online already know what Pastor Adeboye said. The problem is with the over 200 million Nigerians who neither attended nor watched and therefore depend on the media for information. When the media fails to report such statements, it fails those people, leaving them uninformed and vulnerable to false narratives. As a result, the 1 million people who witnessed the statement firsthand end up arguing with the remaining 200 million Nigerians, who may see them as liars or overly defensive simply because the media failed to tell them. |

BlueRayDick:Ordinary Harrison dey plant tracking devices in ransom cash to use track kidnappers enter forest with few anti kidnapped officers, e come be a whole federal government.. All these calculations are just funny honestly because when one sits to analyze the logistics alone that it takes to move that number of people, then it calls into question our entire security architecture and the willpower of our leaders..I mean Abuja is basically politicians and top military men flexing financial muscles..There's no way that these cowards wouldn't leave a trail.. We should stop this ransom payment honestly, it didn't help when Buhari started it, it hasn't helped now and it would never help.. The more we pay, the more the "industry" booms.. See how the entire focus in on Oyo maybe because it's just never happened there before but there's 40kids also in captivity from Borno, over 150 people kidnapped during Easter, still in captivity.. Just watched the video of former APC chairman who's been in captivity since too.. |

Female Council Vice-Chairman Remand in Prison over Self Kidnap Offence Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti ordered the remand of Ilejemeje Local Government Vice Chairman, Grace Ogunleye, in Prison for alleged involvement in SELF-KIDNAP. Police investigations revealed that she allegedly staged her own abduction to raise money for personal debts and unmet political commitments. |

chrisooblog:No need to blame Hollywood chief cos those Hollywood people won't tolerate or accept this kind of docility from their leaders. They would have impeached or sent that leader packing since. No allow Dayo who's in Hollywood's America to bobo you, he's enjoying all the competence over there but defends incompetency back home. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 7:07pm On Jun 04 |
MorataFC:And my question is this, what if the media is deliberately shielding Tinubu by choosing not to amplify what Pst Adeboye actually told his congregation? By doing so, it creates the impression that Adeboye is supportive of the administration when, in reality, he may be quite critical of it. That’s the point I’m making. Media bias can also be about what is deliberately ignored or underreported. If critical comments are buried while favorable narratives are amplified, the public ends up with a distorted picture of where influential figures truly stand. Get my point now? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by MorataFC: 7:16pm On Jun 04 |
BlueRayDick:Well, I'm not the one who posted what you quoted above, and the question you're asking has already been answered by Potvalor. |

Looks like Pst Adeboye actually endorsed Tinubu. I respect it though, it's his choice.
