Some days ago, the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Staff, Gbajabiamila, visited Ogbomoso without even informing the Governor of the state. What baffles me is that when it comes to the struggles of ordinary Nigerians—people who have practically become a government unto themselves—there is always division, politics, and blame games. Of course, every Nigerian is now their own government. We provide at least 95% of what the government should be providing: electricity through generators, clean water, healthcare through agbo and other alternatives because the health sector is poorly funded, and security by whatever means we can afford. The list goes on and on. Yet, when it comes to occasions where politicians are celebrating their children's weddings and other personal milestones, party affiliations suddenly disappear. It's almost as if they are saying, "This doesn't concern the masses, so let's put our differences aside and unite." I will keep saying it: these people do not love the masses. The least we owe them is to hold them accountable, regardless of whether they belong to our preferred political party or not. |

henrybomb:I know. How long, do we accept this forever? |

harsysky:It has come to stay anyways but we just have to fight that urge not to listen their gimmicks. It is only during election they tell you that you are Yoruba, Ibo or Hausa or tell you that you are Christian or Muslim while in the real sense they don’t actually play those tribal or religious cards amongst themselves. |

henrybomb:People don't seem to know we are all human before we had our individual religious and tribal differences. If I love you as just a human, why should I wish bad against you? Those are what we throw away when these wicked people bring in tribal and religious differences. This has been what the white has been able to do for themselves. Charity starts from home. |

harsysky:Even religion preaches love and tolerance which means that what politicians do is nothing close to love or tolerance it is pure hatred and wickedness. They basically spite people against each other because they know it always work. |

Let's define politics in the Nigerian context.. it's the art of subverting the will of the people ultimately for personal gain while feigning to care, but without recourse to the consequences of such action on the polity! We can define the masses as the helpless who have little or no way out than to continue to be 'law abiding' while their common wealth is depleted continually by the politician. Nigeria is a geographical area where a parasitic relationship exists between the politician and the masses, and amongst the masses. Lastly, the Nigerian politician is he who is above the law. I hope this addresses your curiosity, @harsysky |

Day169:Nailed it! Do you think there is any solution to this parasitic nature of the politicians, maybe, awareness? |

henrybomb:Spot on! Seriously, I don't trust any of them. I have had arguments with my dad on some matters I do not agree with him but I find it somewhat funny that some people supporting some wicked and parasitic politicians keep mum even in the face of evil. |

harsysky:Awareness.. the people are largely aware but helpless. R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N .. I'll try to define it. A sudden conflict or schism of seismic proportions within a human population, by the 'masses' against their oppressors, where no one can foretell the beginning or how it may end. ( I hope my grammar no too big. )Look at the old Yugoslavia or Sudan. Scary right? |
