The security situations in the country justifies suspecting Fulani men with huge sum of money in cash as a possible kidnapper.
They just need to interrogate him properly to know how he came about that money. What business does he do ? Simple.
If his hands are clean, then they should let him go.
Why not conduct a discreet investigation?

Why circulating his videos all over the Internet space when you didn't find anything very incriminating on him?

This is not the best way to go about this.

Even if the guy is a terrorist, he will win them with this crude approach and might demand compensation for damages.

Which law prohibit people from owning cash less than 5 million?

But because he's a Fulani man we want to twist the law.
How do you know the amount is less than 5 million. The report states "huge sums of money " but you have concluded it is less. Maybe you should be invited the police to throw more light 🤔

I saw one that didn't even reach ₦200k and they attested them. These guys don't bank and ransom money is in tens of millions.
If tens of millions is shared by dozens of kidnappers, a kidnapper will only get hundreds of thousands.
Any Fulani man caught with huge sums of money should be arrested and interrogated to explain his source of money.
Desperate times require desperate measures

What a nonsense! Is that a criteria for terrorism. What of politicians that store money by Bullion vans, and some built warehouses to fill them with money? Everyone knows that, from time immemorial, Fulani people hardly bank their money. They carry cash around. A cow can cost as much as N1m.
Nigerians allow primordial tribal sentiment to fool them most of the times. Instead of undertaking due DILIGENCE to fish out Acts of terrorism culprits, they are here chasing shadows, in greed & INDOLENCE, looking for Fulani man that carry money...

Yeah, you have a point there.
The investigation, arrest and interrogation should be done without public knowledge.
It's sad that we don't do things like that with proper professionalism in this country.
But again, it wasn't the security agencies that carried out the arrest that post the video, rather it was the citizens who happened to witness the arrest (and seeing that as an opportunity to make content).
Anyway, I get your point and I agree with you.

Exactly, I know that it would be very difficult for the terrorists to make South West States a domain location for those kidnapping and killings.....can only last for a short time but prolong kidnapping etc can't be sustain in the South West as norms as done in the North.....the South West is too integrated, too communal, to peaceful to sustain terror.

It's going to be a mistake for those kidnappers to see South West as a next business location as been practice in the North. South West is too diversed culturally, religion wise etc.....

What keep sustaining Terror in the North till today is the majority Muslim population unlike in the South......

I pity the Fulani people, everyone now sees them as enemy of the state either good or bad ones
Unfortunately so.
That's what happens when their leaders don't checkmate their excesses.
They felt untouchable now the bonafide citizens of Nigeria has turned to tide and risen against them.
Hausa a should quickly disassociate themselves from Fulani else they too might suffer the same fate in Southern Nigeria

U are right.
We do things in a crooked way.
What about if said he sold his cow?

I don't know how the CID operate now.
Initially this organization can live and drink with u or disguise just to get information from a suspect without the suspect knowing.

Quick to arrest him without any tangible evidence is not the best approach unless may be there are other things incriminating they have found in him, if none.

The process is a joke

Calm down oga. It's only an arrest. And the current security situation in the country warrant such an arrest.
Fulani men have become notorious for kidnapping activities where they collect huge sum of money in cash for ransom. So if there's a good intelligence to suspect a particular Fulani man and especially if huge sum of money if found in his possession, it makes sense to arrest such individual and question him for the source of his money.

If they're are simply arresting all Fulani with huge sum of money without any other intelligence backing it, a lot of them would have been arrested already. But I believe there are other reasons aside just possessing huge sums in cash that led to this arrest.

Bro, nothing dey normal again in this country. If you suspect anybody, quickly shout out, at least after investigation, if he's clean, you go tell am sorry than to be allow a kidnapper live and eat with you....if you allow such, soon you will be the next pos...point of sales......

Each neighborhood must set up their own security networks and arm them. We must forget about relying on state or federal. They've proven to be useless against these bandits. That's the way forward.

States should follow Makinde's footsteps. Let private security networks be registered under the state for compliance. But now each community has the opportunity to take their own protection in their own hands.

Money gone ... men released. Why would they not release the name of the men ... photos and whatever information to the public? Release that information and get information in return ... as in who are their associates .. etc. Isn't that what the Police do ... gather information to build a case? And these ones are branding themselves professionals.
