I am a Landlord but I'm also a tenant somewhere right now due to my job location. Where i am rent is increasing and I dont blame the landlords for doing that, instead blame the government for not regulating the cost of erecting a building.

We all buy from same market, children attend schools where fees are no longer same, buy same petrol etc. etc.
My landlord's lawyer recently increased my rent to 100%, I tried to negotiate but didn't succeed as such kind of apartment is over 2.5 million if they should rent to a new tenant. So, it's not everything you fight.

You have only two options, stay and pay or leave.

The question is. Can Nigerians unite and fight against anything? Not even their so called religion.

It's only the law that could do that. But guess what?
We are in a lawless country and more than 90% of us lack emotional intelligence and conscience.

My late mom , one of her extended sisters sold their father's house and got 5M cut (pre Tinubu o ) instead of investing in her business she decided to roof her unfinished house....fast forward to today the house is still not finished and she's broke

As long as your business is growing you can conveniently pay your rent and subsequently use the interest generated from the business to build.

First of all appreciate the fact that they provide you with house to live in, especially in cities, where it is beyond the reach of the average man. Focus on government to build mass housing estates at cheaper rate, the ones government is selling now, the average Joe can't afford it.

I'll rather buy my own land and fence it. At worst build a batcher, manage inside and be developing my land bit by bit.

Dont make that mistake, i have follow that part before. The business fail but it was valuable to sell it off as scrap. Carry that 20million and start building your house it can take you till roofing. Be inside and follow the same way you make that 20million until you become a landlord. A word is enough for the wise

The only way to fight against Landlords is to build your own house or get the Govt to build public Housing Estates for you

That is a great idea, except that the "landlords" are all the big and influential men and women in society at the LG, State and Federal levels. They will stop at nothing to ensure no one messes with their source of income.
