The Attorney General of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke SAN today arraigned 8 pastors in court for hiring paid actors to stage fake miracles otherwise known as "arrangee" miracles. The pastors were remanded in prison custody after their arraignment and the matter was adjourned to 15th June 2026 for hearing/motion for bail

The pastors were charged and arraigned before the High Court of Anambra State in charge Nos: A/65C/26, A/55C/26, A/63C/, A/64C/26, A/57C/26, A/60C/26, A/58C/26, A/61C/26 for the offences of wielding fake supernatural powers, using a religious place of worship for the commission of crime contrary to sections 18(3) and 19 (1) of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, 2025 and obtaining by false pretence contrary to section 3 (1) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act LFN 2006.

Some of the pastors were charged along with agents whom they allegedly use to procure the persons who are paid to pretend that they have been healed or delivered.

The charges alleged that the pastors were obtaining rewards from members of the public through the fake miracles they perform.

The proof of evidence filed along with the charge listed video recorded confessions of the pastors as part of the evidence; with the flash drive attached, which indicates that the 8 pastors confessed to the crime. This was confirmed by Nweke SAN who stated in an interview that the confessional statements were part of the evidence frontloaded by the State which the State intends to rely on. He stated that the charge is part of the efforts of the State Govermnent to nip in the bud the practice of exploiting vulnerable members of the public by deception through the stage-managing of miracles, just like the State is doing against bad native doctors

3. Bishop Emeka Nwamkpa – Chapel of Faith Ministry
4. Peter Chukwu – Messiah Adoration Ministry
5. Chinedu Egwuonwu – Citadel of Grace Ministry
6. Ebele Nnachukwu – Jehovah the Mighty Than All Ministry
7. Miracle Iruoma – City of Power Ministry
8. Chukwukadibia Ogwuama – Land of Testimony Adoration Ministry

I wish other governors will do the same thing and rid off these fake people with nothing to offer but to extort innocent people by promising them heavily for bringing forth their earned as tithes and offering....

Sadly, the people he's fighting for will lay curses on him for touching their anointed that did no harm....
