Netizens are reeling after Instagram influencer Vera Dijkmans documented her own mid-air meltdown, which has now landed her in massive legal trouble. The chaos kicked off mid-flight when a cabin crew member woke Vera up from a sleeping-pill-induced nap to offer her food. Annoyed by the disruption and facing severe nicotine withdrawals — having previously claimed she smokes over four packs a day — she decided she couldn't wait the remaining two hours until landing. Instead, Vera locked herself inside the airplane lavatory to chain-smoke, even going as far as to snap a mirror selfie with a lit cigarette in her mouth.

Her actions caught up with her the moment the plane touched down in Mumbai, India. Police officers were already waiting at the gate to escort her to the station. In a tone-deaf update posted from her room at The Oberoi in Mumbai, Vera laughed off the encounter, telling her followers the authorities were "pretty chill" and released her after taking her passport details and asking for her Instagram handle.

The laughter didn't last long, as the full consequences of her actions dropped the very next day. Turkish Airlines officially blacklisted the influencer, canceling her return tickets and issuing her a permanent lifetime ban. To make matters worse, the airline is now taking legal action against her. Because they had to ground and deep-clean the aircraft's entire ventilation system due to her smoking, they are demanding that Vera foot the massive bill for the financial losses.

What could have been a standard flight has now turned into a potential legal nightmare and an incredibly expensive smoke break. Was this a case of severe, uncontrollable addiction, or just an extreme display of influencer entitlement?
