Mrexcell:Do you know that some countries base on port revenue just like some base on oil? Yet states in Nigeria are being paid derivation for oil but the port states are paid nothing for ports revenue. Do you think this is fair? If not then Lagos is being owed one century of derivation from port revenue |

Amotolongbo:Only primitive people reason like this lagos was also nothing before niger delta oil money was injected into it to give it a heads up and project it for massive development. |

lawani:No lagos ought to show gratitude and appreciation to the nigerian state and to the people of the niger delta for developing those lagos ports with nigeria's collective oil resources and also allowing lagos to monopolise port activities in nigeria for decades. The nigerian state also has other port options in other states but choosed to massively develop lagos ports first. |

UncleAyo:And you are not even from Lagos. I know becos the people from Lagos aren't the ones always claiming Lagos and starting ish. Its always the ones from Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti that drag Lagos the most. Lagosians lived peacefully with their guests and neighbours for yrs until the ones from the aforementioned villages migrated to Lagos and started all this chaos. They imported nuisance and tribalism just like their president who stole Lagos but is originally from Osun |

Mrexcell:You are insulting Lagos but it is not your fault. Why can't you say the oil states should show gratitude to the North for using groundnut money to do oil exploration? What you said is more stupid than that because there were ports in Lagos centuries before Nigeria. In 1960 the western region had a budget of 55 million pounds East had 12 million pounds and North had 7 million pounds |

360who:The Yoruba have actually been living together as one country for millenia but each sub group control their land. The ancestor of the current Oba of Lagos was an Awo from Ijesa who was among the team that founded Lagos island. His name is Baba Alagbaa. He wanted to return to Ijesa but the people begged him to stay and went forward to build him a palace called Iga Alagbaa, he married a princess and theirvson was Ologunkutere who is the founder of the compound of the current Lagos Kings. That was centuries ago and check how far Osun is from Lagos. In my family in the same Ijesa we have relatives in Epe Lagos where the half brother of my grandfather belong to and his father was also Ijesa who obviously settled in Epe as an Osomaalo or hire purchase merchant. There is also Ijesatedo in Lagos that predate Nigeria. If not for state creation by the military, we will all be in one state |

lawani:Only stating the hard facts nothing is stupid here show me the proofs that nigeria used the north groundnut oil money to develop oil wells in the niger niger? If the western region had a budget of 55m pounds how then did the nigerian state preferred to rely on ground nut oil money from the north with a mere budget of just 7m pounds instead of going to the western region with enough wealth to take funds if we are to even believe this ur story? It doesn't make any sense to me. |
| Re: ‘The Igbos Have Given A Lot To Lagos Economy’ – Rapper Illbliss (Video) by lawani(m): 11:01am On Jun 06 |
Mrexcell:You don't understand. People say federal money was used to develop oil resources but it is a stupid assertion because the regions controlled oil before the resource control decree. The idea that oil resources built Lagos ports is even more stupid because Lagos is a natural port that was very busy centuries before the formation of Nigeria |

lawani:So what about the recent loans worth over $1b tinibu took from the UK to modernise lagos ports who is going to pay back those loans is it the lagos state govt? |
| Re: ‘The Igbos Have Given A Lot To Lagos Economy’ – Rapper Illbliss (Video) by lawani(m): 12:16pm On Jun 06 |
Mrexcell:They make more than one billion dollars per annum from the ports. Any money put there or in the oil sector is to make more money and that does not negate the reality that the oil states are being paid derivation while port states are not paid |
| Re: ‘The Igbos Have Given A Lot To Lagos Economy’ – Rapper Illbliss (Video) by Mrexcell(m): 12:38pm On Jun 06 |
lawani:Lagos doesnt get paid but still gets the highest faac monthly allocations in nigeria today and still economically benefits locally from the modernisation of the ports. The niger delta only gets only13% from their oil resources while the rest 87% is shared to other states including ur lagos while their ports is also deliberately made to be redundant so that lagos ports can reap the huge dividends that comes from the redundancy u guys in the west should continue feeling smarter than anyone else in nigeria. |

Mrexcell:Cotonou and Lome are busier ports than Lagos yet they don't have the population of maybe Abeokuta. Lagos population is increasing because the government has igr. If you have igr then you can employ more and each person you employ will marry and have children and you will have contractors who also marry and have children. You invite investors with your good infrastructure provided with the revenue and the population keeps increasing. Development is a fight over population and if Enugu continues in its current path of igr increase it will surpass Anambra and Abia in population by ten years and it will be able to generate even more revenue. That is how it works and there is nothing special in Lagos which does not have the land mass of Ekiti state. What they have is a more serious leadership that sees the local industry as it's revenue source. If I have just 5 million dollars now I will invest here and employ at least one hundred people and the manager will be well paid. One hundred people will bring their families and etc etc Then there are ports in the East but they are not busy. The question is why and it is because importers believe it is cheaper for them to use Lagos. If PH had twenty million people, the port in Onne would be busy Lagos has the highest population and it is not the most cosmopolitan. Why should it not receive the highest allocation? |

codemaniacs:You see that nobody liked your comment, because you wrote jargons out of frustration .So now, Onne port Calabar port Warri port now belongs to the Igbos of south east. Remember what you said now, i know you people, tomorrow now you will change mouth . The day south east Nigeria the Igbos will claim Cross River State Calabar, River's State Port Harcourt and Delta State, Warri as part of their land that day i know what you guys will say oo.Remember today, you are handing over this States to the south east people! I still maintains my stand..... How i wished Lagos Nigeria was located in the south east of Nigeria, because of the Atlantic Ocean that is bordering with Lagos. By now the industrious Igbos of the south east would of turned Lagos Nigeria to UAE. It's sad the South East people of Nigeria didn't had that opportunity of having a Sea Port close to the Atlantic Ocean as their own. ![]() |

akpumping7720:Lagos Nigeria belongs to all TRIBES in Nigeria! I will repeat it over and over again if you want. Yoruba developed Lagos, so why can't they also develop Ogun State that is very close to Lagos ? |

ArcSEMPECJ:That's what they fail to understand. They keep arguing and arguing with frustrations whenever you mention Lagos Nigeria belongs to all TRIBES in Nigeria. The development should of crossed into Ogun State asap, but nothing of such is happening. |

lightwind:the indigenes of Rivers state are 98% igbos.. Igbos billionaires and igbo state governments can also partner, negotiate and build ports in Akwa-ibom or Cross River or Bayelsa or Delta state then use railways to link to those new ports. the SE has crude oil, one of the largest gas deposits in Africa, one of the largest coal deposits in Africa while Yoruba people don't have the level of crude oil the SE have, the SW does not have gas deposits, does not have coal deposits. when it comes to natural resources wealth the SE is extremely richer and wealthier than the SW and the rest of Nigeria and they should not be allowed to participate in politics outside the SE. SW is significantly poorer than the SE... so it is fuulish of SE people to be envying Lagos state and SW people. |

lightwind:Yoruba and Igbo are not contemporaries by population and that means by any other thing. Lagos not to talk of Ibadan makes it very obvious and all this going back and forth is to not accept the fact. The Yoruba are almost three times the population of the Igbo and if you accept that many things will be easier for you to accept. How many Igbos even are in Lagos? If you give Yoruba 70 percent it means Igbo is 7.5 percent, if Yoruba is eighty percent it means Igbo is five percent, if Yoruba is sixty percent it means Igbo is ten percent. If you now go to the extreme and say Yoruba is 40 percent, Igbo still will not be more than fifteen percent. This is because whatever is left after Yoruba is deducted must be divided into four around equal parts before one part can be assumed Igbo. The four parts are Hausa, Igbo, other Northerners and other Southerners. No survey has ever put the Yoruba at less than seventy percent of Lagos and it may be as high as eighty percent. The English control London, the Germans Berlin, the Americans New York, the Russians Moscow, so the Yoruba are sufficiently big to say they control Lagos. After all they win 99 percent of elective posts in the city. However as long as Nigeria remains one, any Nigerian city is owned by all Nigerians as they are free to live and contest elections there. If you are waiting for Lagos to become a non Yoruba city, you will wait indefinitely |

lawani:Someone else have also asked this question here. If Yoruba really developed Lagos State, why can't the same Yoruba develop Ogun State their next door neighbor. Are they Yorubas living in Lagos different from the Yorubas living in Ogun State ? I thought the Yorubas are one! Fifth of United States population are Canadians by birth, United State is developed if you go to Canada their next neighbor, is also developed. The only thing holding mexico down is drugs, and bad leadership. So what is holding the Yorubas of Ogun State underdeveloped, they all depends on Lagos for survival ? |
| Re: ‘The Igbos Have Given A Lot To Lagos Economy’ – Rapper Illbliss (Video) by lightwind(m): 5:50pm On Jun 06 |
codemaniacs:Nigerians developed Lagos, and not the Yorubas! If the Yorubas claimed the developed Lagos, they can also straight that hand to their closest neighboring states like Ogun but they didn't do that. Are they Yorubas living in Lagos different from the Yorubas living in Ogun ? And for your information SE people were part of the tribes that developed Lagos,Nigeria. So they don't envy what they are part of. |
