A Nairalander, Wolexyoshi, who claims to be an eyewitness writes:

Wolexyoshi:
Today Sunday 7th June 2026, some Fulani guys were apprehended in my area (Abule-Eko/Igbopa) here in IJEDE in Ikorodu.

They were 12 in numbers but 9 was arrested. They have been secretly living in a Self Contain apartment within the community. When interrogated, they claim to have come from Sudan and Chad and that they are into Network Marketing.

When their phones were checked, transaction of 10m, 5m and 3m were seen and one of them was seen loading AK 47 rifle with bullets in his photo gallery.

They have now been handed over to the Police, but people in the community are not trusting the Police so as not to release them later.

We go share and share so Police won't say nothing happened and that it's a false alarm like they claim last week.

May God help us all in this trying time.

I don't know if we still have the immigrations in this country again self? Why are all our boarders so porous? .....but thorough investigation should be done though. Because these ones look innocent to me, except deadly weapons were found with them. They look to me like they want survival ☹️

If you know how much it costs to transport from Borno or indeed any of the states bordering Chad or Niger to Lagos then you realise that none of these boys can afford it.
How then did they get to Lagos? You see them on trailers that have brought goods up north and are returning to Lagos. You also see them on the trucks of the biggest cement producer in Nigeria. His trucks are one key channel these guys use to move arms and fighters around the country. Is he aware? Who knows?

These guys don't look like bandits or terrorists.

Because one of them from Sudan had a photo of him with an AK doesn't mean he is a bandit or terrorist.

And these guys don't look like your typical Arab Sudanese .

They look more like south Sudanese with their Bantu features who are mainly Christian or Animists.

And in same war ravaged south Sudan, even herdsmen are armed with AKs.

As per transactions alerts , this doesn't prove anything as south Sudanese people have money due to oil and cattle herding.

They should check how they got to Nigeria as this is important.

I am sure they migrated through Cameroun and then through Taraba or Cross River border crossing.

If they came through the NE (Yola or Maiduguri) then that's a different ball game.
