At least ONE (female) judge is standing against injustice in the land.

A land where the likes of Yahaya Bello are getting senatorial endorsement

Cerebral Obi should have the answer. grin

NLCreator:
Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.

There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.

Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.

The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.

While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.

“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.

“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.

“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”

Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

Shameless thieves and characters! It is about time that Nigerians clamour for a Legislature that is remunerated per sittings and without legislative quarters and official vehicles except Committee Coaster Bus required for oversight functions. They should be paid the Salaries and allowances of Federal Civil Servants. That will go a long way in dealing with the thieves and shameless characters who presently parade themselves as Honourable Members of the House of Representatives and Distinguished Senators of the Nigerian Senate respectively. Civil Society Organisations should champion that. The court has done well! It remains to be seen whether the shameless and thieving characters who presently make up the NASS will appeal the judgement. Agba lowo meeri Baale Jontolo! Ask Google for an interpretation!
You got it.

The issue resides with the citizens who consistently choose and eulogize horrible leaders. SERAP has done its own and got the right judgement. Will the citizens demand accountability? That should be like threat passing through the eye of the needle.

I do not think that resident National Assembly members are needed. Part timers are preferred, afterall they do not seat daily and they always take long breaks. That way the country can save money too. Again, most of the assembly members are rich. What else do they need?

Corruption is the center of all the problems that such a nation like Nigeria faces. Take away corruption and see how speedy this nation will develop on all facets.

Corruption is behind insecurity.
Corruption is behind the ethnic and religious crisis.
Corruption is the reason most states are not developed.
Leaders embezzle with ease and supporters, friends and family members praise them for their ill gotten wealth.

Nigerians must wake up and ensure that the country works for all.

I agree with you. Furthermore, self-seeking, dirty, corrupt and thieving politicians will be less inclined to seeking elections into the NASS when financial incentives and perks of office are not available there. It should free the NASS space for citizens who really mean well for Nigeria and are competent to serve. Such citizens will be encouraged to participate in politics and contest to serve. Humongous fees charged by political parties to contest should be gone.

The court should just stop talking nonsense. Just arraign the thieves in court and sentence them to jail. With that I'll believe and take Nigerian courts seriously

God Bless Our Courts - For Courageous JUDGEMENTS -in lieu of Govt-and Officials Intimidations.
-Imagine the Huge Money and Resources - these Legislatures Are Trying To Package For themselves, despite the:
- Monthly Huge Salaries and Allowances -running,into Billions,
- Huge NBILLIONS in CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS Money 💰- that has Increased Astronomically to N2-Billions for Senators and Billions for their House of Reps Counterparts- but most NIGERIA Constituency Are Not Seen Any Difference In Their Affairs - just Pure Poverty.
Yet, they Don't even Care About the Suffering MASSES - that Cannot Afford decent Houses and Transport Costs, or
Build Houses for themselves as Cement - is now 12,000 per one and it used to be 5k, before Subsidies Removal ⁉️

They will fail. The Judiciary is not unaware of the situation of things in the country and how corruption has become the bane of the Nigerian society and that it is imperative to use Law as an instrument of sanitation if the Nigeria is to make progress.

Please let them refund ASAP, like with immediate effects if the money has already been spent.

For the first time in history of Nigeria, Tinubu administration has failed to publish fiscal report since the second quarter of 2024.

Like it's been over 2 years now, and they are decieving themselves junketing around Europe looking for investors, what will the investors base their assement of the Nigerian market on?

Later he will tell his sheeples "na statistics we go chop" grin cheesy cheesy...what a drugie with maggots infested brain.
