They've been there for years, no opposition but light up Lagos is what Sanwo-Olu is celebrating in 2026 after Ambode made that his first 100 days project in 2015. Make it make sense. Your leaders are evil. Instead of serving you, they corner your resources and always want to settle contractors so the money can come back to them. No light, no water. Bad environment, bad water. You provide your own road (patch)
You provide your own housing (build your own)

Oyo State wanted to tax those who dug boreholes but they were quiet about the negligence of the state to provide water to the people. And they had an engineer as Governor. There's a need for serious resistance in all of these unfriendly policies and I know their scheme, trying to create a class of rich and poor. What exactly is the money for.
What is the government collecting the money to do for the house owner.
What tangible thing is money exchanged for.

If it a permit, a simple piece of paper.
How much does the paper and the ink used to convey the message cost.
Anything beyond that is extortion.

Even if the tax is only for those living in government-owned social housing estate, its still wrong.

How about the government working optimally to provide constant power to the housing estate residents so no one would even think of solar power electricity in the first place.

Why should they pay for it. Is it government that is providing the sun or the solar? The sun shines on everybody and whoever can harness is free to. When I say we should stop supporting failures, e get why.

Government that provides nothing to the citizens, when they citizens decides to provide solutions themselves whether they stay in private or Government residences, the government still want to tax them for people sorting themselves out. Useless government

Very Soon it will be extended to Private Houses and Tenants. Once they Succeed with this exercise and people respons positively, it will cut across other Private Solar Users.
