First School Leaving Certificate Issue by Landowner101(op): 7:17pm On Jun 08
I recently received an appointment letter with a state ministry in Nigeria. The challenge now is that we have worked for about three months without pay, as we were informed that salaries would only be processed after verification.

During the verification exercise, we were asked to submit our degree certificate, WAEC certificate, birth certificate, First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), and BVN. When it got to my turn, the verification officer informed me that my First School Leaving Certificate was not acceptable because it was not issued by the Ministry of Education. As a result, they refused to verify my documents.

Surprised, I spoke with some colleagues, and they confirmed that the issue was likely because the certificate I presented was a privately printed school certificate. I was then asked whether I sat for the FSLC examination. At the time, I only wrote the Common Entrance examination, as my primary school simply registered us for Common Entrance and promoted us to their secondary school.

I contacted my former school today to explain the situation and seek assistance. Unfortunately, the proprietress said she was not sure what could be done to resolve the issue.

At this point, I am confused and worried because my verification has not been completed, which may affect my salary processing. Has anyone experienced a similar situation before? Is there any alternative document or process that can help me resolve this issue and complete my verification?

I would sincerely appreciate any advice or guidance from anyone who has successfully handled a similar challenge.

I have never heard where cert from the school was rejected like this? Have you tried going to the ministry of education to see if something can be issued for you or so do you have a copy of your common entrance results? If you do, use am join body as evidence, also ask your colleagues that went to private school how they take run am na, or better still, ask the verification officer how to resolve the thing na

Most of my colleagues were from government schools background, while some from private schools wrote Fslc exams in their primary 6 together with common entrance.
