FG To Extend Lagos Red Line Rail To MMA Terminals – Keyamo by dododawa1(op): 6:46pm On Jun 08
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, Monday, disclosed plans by Federal Government to extend the Lagos Red Line rail to the domestic and international terminals of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, in Lagos.

Keyamo said the rail extension would connect the Ikeja Bus Stop to the General Aviation Terminal, GAT, Murtala Muhammed Airport Two, MMA2, and the international wing of the airport.

He said this at the opening ceremony of Invest Lagos 3.0, organised by the Lagos State government.

He said when completed, the project would improve accessibility to Nigeria’s busiest airport and support government’s vision of transforming Lagos into a major aviation and logistics hub for Africa.

He said: “We are also planning to extend the rail line that ends at Ikeja Bus Stop. We are working with the Lagos State government to extend that rail line all the way to the local, through the Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, BASL, and all the way to the international airport. That rail line is about to start. It’s the extension of the rail line. So, Lagos is just ready for the next big step in terms of its aviation activities.”

Keyamo also urged local and foreign investors to take advantage of opportunities in the country’s aviation sector, adding that government had committed about $500 million towards the reconstruction and modernisation of the Old Terminal at the Lagos airport demonstrates its determination to deepen investment and accelerate growth in the industry.

That will be great.. just like what’s obtainable in advance countries.. major airports connected to city via train/underground trains.

Mr Keyamo is doing a great job.. I witnessed tremendous work ongoing at MMIA

That will be very nice. It means anyone along the Oyingbo - Alagbado railway route can easily get in or out of the airport to their destinations without relying on Uber.

Provided that their luggage isn't much.

Some few ones will still prefer Uber as it will drop them in their compound, inside their house gate.

Lagos is moving forward
Re: FG To Extend Lagos Red Line Rail To MMA Terminals – Keyamo by naptu2: 6:50am On Jun 09
That was the original plan (during the Tinubu and Fashola eras), but it was modified during the Ambode and Sanwo-Olu eras due to cost.

I'm glad that it's back on track.

This initiative makes no sense.

You're coming from travels and you take a train to get down at the station and walk down to your house, with all your luggages, announcing to the whole area say you just come back?

IN NIGERIAhuh?

People will still take Uber or get relatives to come pick them.

The question is if a rail is coming from oshodi enroute agbado, will it go to airport straight and back to Ikeja termina, then continue the journey to agbado which will be weird or will they have their coaches and terminate at airport and back to oshodi or yaba or whatever? We will wait how the design is going to be. Nice one though.

As it has been since 1914, Lagos continues to enjoy federal money disproportionately but its failed leaders looters are using xenophobia to distract attention from their roguish ways.

Looters that have turned Lagosians into kwashiorkor potbelly people who drink water from shitty boreholes.

Due to which cost? Even after the over estimate cost of the red line you mean they had to modified it due to cost?

Funny.

E go make serious sense.

From the Airport, one won't need to rely on using a car.

I hope the red line will eventually be linked with the blue line

Is there any state without such looters? Remember Lagos has no mineral resources aside waterways.
Yes, corruption is undeniable but in terms of dividends of democracy they are ahead of many of not all states of Nigeria

Have you asked yourself...the viability of air travel when the economy is comatose?

The way you people reason in APC Lagos ..its best you have your own Nation, so people will see you in all your failed Glory.

Sophisticated failures
