There are 3 prominent Political Ideologies in Iran.

First 30% are made up of the people who would be HAPPY to see Iran ENGULFED in flames.
I'm guessing the MOOMOO Crown Prince in EXILE belongs to this group.

The NEXT 30-40% are the ANTI-NUKER Reformists who BELIEVE they can negotiate with the American TERRORISTS.
They still believe in the possibility of getting SANCTION-RELIEFS and possibly re-integrating Iran into the Western Economy.

There are POWERFUL people in this group.
Including Aragchi, President Pezeshkian and the grandson of the FIRST Ayatollah Khomeini.

Then the FINAL group are the conservatives who have the TOP commanders of the IRGC in their ranks.
Plus, the new Khameini too.

And MOST of the conservatives want NUKES.

But because of the COMPLEX nature of the Iranian Government System, they CANNOT pursue that WITHOUT the cooperation of the Reformists who essentially run a large aspect of the government.

Meanwhile, they CONTINUE to get ATTACKED and KILLED.

And most of the TOP people getting ASSASSINATED appear to be from the Conservative side of the government.

That said, your PhD-level explanation of the Internal Politics have revealed 2 things:

1. Iran is NOT half as authoritarian as the COMPROMISED Western Media would have us believe.

They made it sound like the IRGC act with ZERO input from any other arm of government.
While in reality, Iran runs a system of government that has MORE EFFECTIVE checks and balances than the Epstein Regime.

2. The Reformist part of government is filled with STEWPID and TREASONOUS entities.
