In a bizarre aviation incident that has raised serious safety concerns, a privately operated aircraft missed its approach to Asaba International Airport and landed on a concrete roadway in the nearby Ogwashi-Uku area early Wednesday morning. Hours later, the jet took off from the same unconventional “runway” without regulatory approval, flying back to Lagos.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) swiftly responded, grounding the aircraft upon its arrival in Lagos, suspending the operator’s permit, and detaining the crew for regulatory review. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo described the unauthorized departure as a “serious breach” of aviation protocols.

According to the NCAA, the incident occurred around 7:43 a.m. local time when the aircraft, en route from Lagos, executed a missed approach while attempting to land at Asaba International Airport. Instead of circling for another attempt, it touched down on a concrete road in Ogwashi-Uku, approximately three kilometers from the airport.

All four crew members on board exited the aircraft safely with no injuries reported. Passengers or other occupants, if any, were transported by road to Asaba. The aircraft remained on the roadway for about three and a half hours before taking off at approximately 11:02 a.m. (GMT) and returning to Lagos without obtaining the necessary clearances.

The NCAA, through Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Michael Achimugu, confirmed the details in an official statement. The authority has launched a full investigation in collaboration with the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) into the circumstances of both the emergency landing and the unauthorized takeoff.

The NCAA emphasized that the operator’s actions violated Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs).

Things are happening in this country.
A very serious undisclosed package ,be it human or non human must really be in that plane and was safely released avoiding security checks.
Things are really happening.
We have not heard the last of this.

Guys, If they allowed people to leave the plane on car without checkup, something is fishy. Those people might be spies, They might be sent to spread diseases to the east. Governments in the east should track those people before it tis too late.

.
Stayed on that road for 3.5 hours.

Obviously nobody uses that road.

And that bridge.

Hope say no be high ranking terrorists from N or SW they drop so like danfo for Igbo land.

They should do a detailed investigation of the plane, crew, passengers, and payload.
.

Re: Jet Loses Bearing, Lands On Second Niger Bridge Road, Takes Off Again (Videos) by Macphenson: 5:22am On Jun 11
This is no loss of bearing. This is a well calculated operation. They should tell us what they came and dropped. Either arms, drugs or money laundering. Who cleared it for landing. Who also cleared it for take off.

Calling Nigeria zoo is an insult to Animal kingdom.

Re: Jet Loses Bearing, Lands On Second Niger Bridge Road, Takes Off Again (Videos) by franchasng: 5:51am On Jun 11
That plane made an emergency landing, but for what purpose if it could take off back?

If people did came down from that plane and boarded any car then it's a security threat indeed. And funny enough the plane didn't have any inscription or name, makes it more worrying.

The people that were around should tell what they observed
