You people should keep disrespecting your hosts everywhere you go. You will not register your own party, you will be looking around for any party that will accommodate you on a platter without contesting for tickets in the primaries , and the moment they do, you find a fault and disrespect them.

You sit here and admire democracies in the West. How free speech and diverse opinions have shaped and developed them.

But back home it cannot be tolerated. We must have regimented societies where boy scout rules reign aka follow the leader.

We rejoice when our much hated Donald Trump is opposed on the streets, opposed in the courts, opposed in the Legislature, opposed in the polity, opposed by celebrities, opposed here and there. We say, yes that is democracy in action.

But here at home we are totally outraged at the thought of having same. Here, dissent is tantamount to rebellion, criticism is now termed 'hatred', and in the case of the 'headless mob', it means such associations cannot win elections as they are bad for democracy......

I just wonder, what kind of democracy do.you folks mean. See Oshiomhole in the Legislature yesterday. Pressing to have people accountable. But the very institution of principal accountability will have none of it. They want silence which to me is just acquiescence, the failure of society.

I was listening, expecting to hear the Supreme Leader say, just as the Nairaland headline thread suggested, "I don't know why Peter Obi can't call his supporters to order." Instead, what I heard was, "I don't know why our leaders can't call their supporters to order."

The last time I checked, Peter Obi is not the only leader in the NDC with supporters.

I honestly don't understand this fixation on Peter Obi. The obsession with him is so unusual that one might wonder whether he is the President, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, under whose watch Nigerians are being massacred, while schoolchildren and teachers are kidnapped, beheaded, maimed, and subjected to other horrific conditions

Why is so much attention directed at Peter Obi while those currently entrusted with the responsibility of governance seem to escape the same level of scrutiny?

Simply say;

Obi is not a leader in NDC.

Simple and short.

You people live in imaginary world. How can Obi a threat to Tinubu infact he's true helper of Tinubu to continue in power. The only way he becomes a threat to APC or Tinubu is if he join forces with Atiku anything besides that is a mirage and a laughing stock to them.

This time he will come distance third because he wouldn't get upto that 6M votes again.

That one will never happen. Joining Atiku will play into Tinubu's hands of making it a North vs South divide and an us versus them scenario

This is the exact problem we have in black Africa. A complete misconception about how societies are built. The thinking that leadership MUST BE FEARED. That leadership that is NOT FEARED, IS WEAK.

Who taught you folks this.
Is there anyone in the White House, in the Republican party, in the US government that fears President Donald Trump....or PM Starmer of the UK or Macron of France....or leaders of other democratic nations...

What they have is respect for the office, and for the person if he is of good conduct. But fear.... that is for dictators and autocrats, the Putin's, the Xi's. Not for someone who perhaps lived on my street, came to my house to ask me to help him into power and a few days later I become terrorized by him. That is not leadership.

And that is why today the people are at the mercy of those they elect as supposed servants. Because they cannot see themselves as the owners of democracy, the drivers of democracy. So the benefits never get to them who own controlling shares in their country.

Please oh, renew your mind about what democracy means.

I am not an Obidient. I don't have a voters card and have never voted and probably never will. Bit if that man ever happens to be elected, I do sincerely hope he continues to fear the people who put him there and by so doing, do their bidding, not his. Do their agenda, not his, prosper them and not himself and his family alone, leaving a people that cannot hold him to account stranded.

Please Obidients, donot allow anyone enslave you. Keep on putting pressure on anyone and everyone aspiring to lead. Let him who wants to be held captive to any tin god remain imprisoned. It is their choice.

After LP's leadership stalemate, Obi should have smartly formed his own party through a proxy figure. Dude kept going about talking and looking for a free platform. Now look at the mess he has put himself.

Trusting Dickson and Kwankwaso is the peak of political naivety. The latter that repeatedly ate with APC and Tinubu just recently. Then he becomes your running mate. Chai! Meanwhile the former is not known to be principled, and thus could throw you under the bus for a good presidential price.

Obi will miss LP. Mark it! Abure and Apapa will soon be proven to be saints.
