Ten Reasons I Will Not Vote Peter Obi in 2027

He inspires emotion, but he does not impose order. A president must control a coalition, not just excite a crowd.
He changes platforms too easily. A man still searching for a stable political roof should not be asking for the keys to Aso Rock.
He has enthusiasm, not enduring structure. Hashtags can trend, but only structure wins power and sustains it.
His support base often repels the allies he needs. A movement known more for abuse than alternatives shrinks its own coalition.
He speaks like a lecturer, not always like a coalition builder. Nigeria needs persuasion, not just presentations.
He rode a wave in 2023 but could not preserve the gains. Winning seats is one thing; keeping them under one roof is another.
He struggles to discipline loyalists. A man who cannot manage followers will struggle to manage a federation.
He benefits from protest energy, but protest is not governance. Anger can launch a campaign; it cannot run a country.
He is strongest in passion-heavy zones, weaker in broad national spread. Regional intensity is not the same as national viability.
He criticizes loudly, but the alternative often sounds thin. A president must offer more than complaint.

Conclusion: Peter Obi may inspire passion, but passion is not preparation. Nigeria needs structure, discipline, coalition depth, and executive steadiness.
If it’s not insecurity worrying you why would you leave your thread to spew this p.o.o on someone else’s thread.

Dont worry
when you or your family members are kidnapped u won't be writing wetin nor make sense
Rewards only come from performance. If Tinubu has at least even done a little, nobody will be mentioning Obi
Obi is still be discussed because Tinubu failed.
I wondered how an opposition will be talking point of national politics instead of those in power.
Imagine having 10 reasons not to vote Obi but kidnapped victims under Tinubu are still in the bush till now
Children o
If anybody still get mind to vote or even support TINUBU
That person is very wicked and i will continue to pray and wish 10times of what those in the bush are experiencing on the person.

Make una get shame na

Like i will continue saying
If by now, you still support Tinubu, all the insecurity issues
All the people that have died, those kids inside the bush, etc
All these experience will fall on that person 10times

Clearly, some Southeastern politicians like Abaribe and Ihedioha were thinking along that line but Obi threw them all under the bus. That's why none of them followed Obi on his wild goose chase to the NDC. The crop of Southeastern leaders that would not be supporting Obi come 2027 are only doing so because they want to stand the chance of becoming Vice in 2031 and use that as a launchpad for the presidency.
Based on the bold you either believe

1. Atiku will not win 2027 and a Northerner will contest again in 2031 under ADC
2. Atiku will win 2027 and change his Vice from Amaechi to a SE politician in 2031
Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by Ballmer: 2:30pm On Jun 12
When you say those from the East are you talking about those of you that call those of us in the west Agbero or refer to our country as a zoo ?! Your region that want to burn down Lagos as not done anything ?!

OredoPikin:
Ahmadu bello words was directed to the East
Most of the people crying of not getting NDC tickets are not even from the East. Majority of the people that are even defending the party are from the East
Obi himself have remained silent on this matter and allow the party handle things as a party.
So why trying to tribalize my post?
Why are u trying to use my simple post to show your hatred for a region that have never done you anything wrong? Or is Obidient movement now an Eastern movement?

I will report your comment

Comprehension. It is a no-brainer that virtually all the sitting Southeastern governors are in APC or are APC-affiliated even though their people are not. They all oppose Obi because they want to position themselves to become VP candidates when their second tenures will be expiring in 2031. Obi becoming president or Vice in 2027 prevents that from happening. That was why the likes of Ekweremadu and Umahi opposed Obi's nomination as Atiku’s Vice in 2019. This is without prejudice to other Southerners like Abaribe and Ihedioha who would rather prefer their region to align with the North sooner by supporting Atiku in 2027. Zoning remains a party affair and a party that has not yet assumed power has no business sharing power that it has not even gotten yet. If APC Northerners are supporting Tinubu today, it because they expect power to shift to the North in 2031 if Tinubu wins. How does what I analysed above correlate with your conjectures?

P.S: It is also the reason why Dickson is lukewarm to Obi's ambition and will rather prefer Obi doesn't win. He only wants the NDC to become viable in 2027 so he can deputise Kwankwaso as VP come 2031. Kwankwaso is in on it.

That is an APC calculation

APC politicians believe Tinubu will win and complete the South tenure in 2031, then a Northerner steps in where Southerner will be a Vice

What is the calculation of the ADC the party you support that will make a SE the Vice in 2031

I wasn't talking about ADC but to humour you, Atiku’s age and the opportunity to write his name in gold as he has always maintained that he is the pathway to an Igbo presidency. A chance for the Southeast to get a foot in the door as a launchpad to succeed Atiku, just like Tinubu did in 2015. A chance for Obi to become an unstoppable force by inheriting Atiku's bloc and a huge chunk of the Buhari CPC bloc. A Southeasterner still won't become Vice under APC if the Southeast fails to vote APC in 2027 and they likely won't.

Northerners had no love for Tinubu prior to supporting Buhari in 2015, but they returned the favour anyway in 2023 by voting enmass for Tinubu (he has Elrufai to thank for that but he's ungrateful). It would have also been the opportunity for the North and the Southeast to heal old wounds and go back to the old Northern-Eastern alliance. Obi prioritised self over ambition and he had no patience for delayed gratification, unlike Tinubu in 2015.
Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by RealityKings1: 3:02pm On Jun 12
An "obedient" person or animal follows the commands or requests of authority. The term comes from the Latin oboedire, meaning to submit to the will of another.

Except you want to be a non conformist you are still obedient and that's what we will label you 😃😃

Atiku has already picked Amaechi from SS. If Atiku wins 2027, he will likely do 2nd term if alive and then Amaechi will be in position to succeed his boss. Not a SE person

They know how to cure this behavior with appropriate medicine. They fear them more than God. Even ONLINE.

Ask EsNbrutality and mrchippychappy grin

They go into a camp and within a short period of time they want to relegate everyone they met and take over the camp.

Exactly. If the Southeast say they are not interested in becoming president or Vice via an Atiku alliance and prefer to go solo, neither Atiku nor anyone can help that. As usual, they will give Obi 97% of their votes, but what is it worth? The North splitted their votes into 4 (Atiku got 6.9m, Tinubu got 5.6m, Obi got 2.3m and Kwankwaso got 1.4m) in 2023 and still managed to make Tinubu win. Personally, I have always maintained that if the Southeast will not support Atiku in 2027, they are better off supporting Tinubu than going solo. History has shown that the Southeast is the only region that does not split their votes. They vote in a one-way traffic like a herd so what will Atiku stand to gain by making a Southeasterner a V.P?

I knew how desperate Obi was when he agreed to do only one term. How can you negotiate such conditions for a region that has never produced the presidency and expect to be trusted? If Obi had remained in the ADC and aligned his region with the North, he would have gotten the opportunity to inherit Atiku’s Northern bloc, a huge segment of Buhari’s bloc, as well as his Southeastern bloc. That would have made him unstoppable. He fears he would lose his base in the Middlebelt but that base is already gone to Tinubu, regardless.

Clearly, some Southeastern politicians like Abaribe and Ihedioha were thinking along that line but Obi threw them all under the bus. That's why none of them followed Obi on his wild goose chase to the NDC. The man is just not smart politically.

Amaechi stands a higher chance of being president than Obi.

He pushed too far with his perceived popularity and votes from the last election. Also allowed his fanbase to over push him.
Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by Basic123: 7:03pm On Jun 12
OredoPikin:
When we started this movement, I believed the goal was clear: to make Peter Obi president and birth a new Nigeria we could all be proud of.

But from the events so far with the NDC, it has become obvious that many people are more interested in what they can get from the movement than in the movement itself.

The NDC was already an existing party before the Obidient Movement joined forces with them. They had their structure and plans in place. They accepted us, gave us the top two positions, and allocated other positions as well. When the party later said let us share the remaining positions, some members became angry. Because they did not get what they wanted, they started insulting the party, its leaders, and even Peter Obi.

To make Obi president, we must be willing to compromise. You cannot walk into an established party and immediately try to hijack its structure. Some of those who felt sidelined even tried to set Obi and Kwankwaso against each other.

Ambition is good, but the ambition of the movement must come before personal ambition. If you believe you have what it takes to win an election, there are other parties you can contest under. You cannot ride on the momentum of the movement, and when things do not go your way, start insulting everyone and questioning the main goal because Obi refused to hand over the ticket.

For these reasons, as an active member of Obidient movement that have defended it both online and offline and right here on this nairaland forum from day one.
from today I, OredoPikin cease to be called an Obidient on this forum.
Instead please call me a Peter Obi supporter and also a supporter of the decision of the vehicle (NDC) he is using.

Thank you.

If u understand what it takes to build a business from scratch and be successful in it or hold a management position in any reputable firm, you wont come here to be making a kindergarten or illiterate comments.
Obi did not only build a business from scratch, he held a management position as the chairman of a reputable bank (a financial institution)
What has Tinubu done in his life outside politics?
He never for once built a business, neither did he hold any management position in any company
He just came back from Chicago from pushing drugs and the next thing was politics for him.
And for you, he is smart because he does transactional and agbero politics and Obi refused to do so.
Now he is president and don't even know what he is doing
God save Nigeria from dead brains like u

For months, Obidients have acted as though every party Peter Obi enters should immediately become an extension of Obi’s personal camp. ADC felt the heat. Now NDC is feeling it too. Instead of patience, integration, and respect for the platform, what often arrives first is pressure, entitlement, and public combat.

This is politically foolish.
