PDP did well to license this private refinery, as part of the 2012 deregulation of the oil industry, which included subsidy removal. Thankfully, one term president Jonathan did not cancel Dangote refinery licence when he reversed his policy of subsidy removal, following Ojota protests by wicked APC Thankfully, Buhari also did not cancel the refinery construction like he did to the Lagos metro project in 1984, after he executed the only successful coup against democratic institutions at local, state and federal levels in the legislative and executive branches. Thankfully, Dangote was smart enough to counter Tinubu’s efforts to strangle the refinery after he fought for power, grabbed and ran with it cluelessly to worsen APC extreme poverty and insecurity shege since 2015. Otherwise, APC would be feeding us propaganda lies about NNPC refineries producing and even exporting fuel while stealing way more than PDP stole on turn around maintenance schemes, and importing fuel from their Malta blending plants. https://www.nairaland.com/post/36404920 https://www.nairaland.com/post/133186055 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x5IMzjHPug HenryThegreat1: |

I don't see the need for this nonsense information. Ex CEO of NNPC stole 210 trillion Naira which equates to 154 billion dollars and you are talking about the change that Dangote has. Is this post suppose to make us feel good or what ![]() Great100000: |

"For decades, Nigeria exported crude oil while importing much of its refined fuel. The Dangote refinery is helping to reverse that model, reducing reliance on imports and creating a new source of export revenue." This has not helped Nigeria and Nigerians except the thieves... |

Darkjudge24:For one, political failure means the inability to keep YOUR OWN promises. The things you said you will accomplish that people believes and thus voted for you. Secondly, as a politician, the things you criticised past governments about creating an atmosphere that you will do better if given the opportunity particularly banking on your own history in public service. It is like political fraud. Posing as something, to get something but ended up different. And all this is because democracy as a system puts you on a stopwatch from the time you are sworn in till the time you have to submit your test papers. You are given exactly four years to do everything you said. Sometimes like in written or oral educational examinations the examiner may score you well based on intent. He can see you know it just that you probably didn't have enough time to present it properly. Intent can also get a politician reelected if he can show what we call in these parts 'workings'. So where are the promised achievements of this government or where are the workings to show intent in all the critical areas Nigerians care about. Remember...tick tock...tick tock...tick tock... That is why abroad they go in looking normal and leave office looking far older than their ages....here to hey come out fresher and younger because they practically do no work or worrying. |

Easier said than done, do you think all our leaders don't want to do all these? Everybody wants to achieve remarkable things. From Obasanjo to Tinubu, you think none hasn't thought about this? the question is how easy is it ? we dont even have the money to achieve that nairalanda1: |

/ Moral of the story: Stay your lane; enjoy your life. Dangote is now worth $39 billion (unimaginable wealth by all means). Elon Musk is at $1 trillion. Heck! If Elon Musk wakes up tomorrow to be worth $39 billion, he will be mocked into possible depression. Inside life! / |
