BRITAIN OWES NIGERIA $50 TRILLION FOR ITS PLUNDER OF THE COUNTRY.

THIS FIGURE IS STRAIGHT FROM AI.

YOU CAN GO ON AI CHATGPT AND TELL IT TO TELL YOU BRITAIN'S DEBT TO NIGERIA FOR ITS EXPLOITATION.

THAT IS FIGURE YOU WILL GET.

$50 TRILLION OR MORE.

KEMI BADENOCH IS A BLACK STOOGE PUT THERE TO SHIFT BLAME FROM THE BRITISH WHO INVADED, ENSLAVED, RAPED, COLONISED, LOOTED, AND DESTROYED NIGERIA.

BEFORE THEY CAME, THERE WAS NO HUNGER IN THE LAND.

THERE WAS NO POVERTY.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW, GO AND ASK YOUR ELDERS.

THE BRITISH NEED TO PAY REPARATIONS INTO EVERY NIGERIAN'S ACCOUNT FOR THEIR PLUNDER OF THE COUNTRY.

THEIR PLUNDER OF $50 TRILLION IS THE REASON WE ARE POOR, NOT THE LESS THAN $1 TRILLION NIGERIAN LEADERS HAVE EVER CONTROLLED.
Yea, keep blaming Britain for your leader corruption and uselessness sad can you prove any of these your claims against britain? And oh! Even it is true, who let them plunder Naigeria? Your useless corrupt leaders.

KEMI BADENOCH IS A BORN LIAR.

SHE SAID NIGERIA "HAS NEVER HAD ELECTRICITY".

TO THE AUDIENCE SHE WAS SPEAKING TO, THAT MEANS "ELECTRICITY DOESN'T EXIST IN NIGERIA".

NOT THAT WE EXPERIENCE POWER CUTS LIKE MAJORITY OF THE DEVELOPING WORLD WHO COMPRISE 80% OF THE WORLD.

NO. SHE DELIBERATELY LIED THAT NO ELECTRICITY AT ALL EXISTS IN NIGERIA.

SAME WAY SHE LIED THAT SHE TREKKED FOR MILES TO FETCH WATER.

SAME WAY SHE LIED THAT LIZARDS WERE COMING OUT OF HER TAPS IN HER PARENTS' VICTORIA ISLAND HOUSE, WHICH WAS, ACCORDING TO HER LYING LIPS, CONSTANTLY SURROUNDED AND THREATENED BY ARMED ROBBERS FIRING GUNS AT HER NEIGHBOURS' HOUSES.

SHE'S VILE AND CONTEMPTIBLE.

Liar. In the 70s , 80s and 90s electricity supply was decent. You didn't need to own a generator. Privatization under OBj led to govt selling it's assets. Who brought the crazy idea? Corporations in the UK, so the nations blackout is by design of external for forces, just like the fraudulent revamping of the apapa ports.

Nigerians through their sufferings are subsidizing the lifestyles of people in the UK including herself.

Let her shut up.
What are you talking about.
Decent electricity which 70's, 80's or 90''s.
The first generator I can remember in my household was bought sometime around '79 when we moved houses. Cannot remember anything before that.

But I clearly remember NEPA 'taking light' right in the middle of Nigeria's second game at the 1985 U16 World Cup game and I cried my eyes out because no one was around to put on the genset.

For years after that Saturday trips to NEPA and NITEL complaint offices was our steady diet especially during the rainy season.

So please just rule out 80's and 90's at the very least, it was the same heat and hell.

Is the hard criticism of the lack of stable power and making it a centrepiece of national advocacy demonizing the country? I don't understand.

If it is a thing we cannot possibly do and is a thing we should come to expect cannot be changed then we should all agree to that and continue to wallow.

But I cannot see how this country can develop if it cannot tackle electricity. And by development I mean from the basics of being able to feed, cloth, treat school, protect ourselves.

There is no endeavour today that can be successfully undertaken sustainbly without electricity. Nigeria didn't invent that, the world did and if we cannot or will not quest for stable, affordable electricity, poverty will make this country untenable for everyone.

You can already see the signs, the collapsing security architecture in the face of escalating criminality, all fueled by desperate poverty.

In as much as she is right, things are turning around for good under the administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Our grid and generation did not catch up with our energy demands and that was as a result of Kemi stated, but we now on course.

Once the ongoing upgrade and expansion of the grid is completed, generation will be fast paced.

The most important criteria is continuity of current government policies and we lucky to have more more that 150 million Nigerians in support of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
Let me correct you sir, the problem mainly is transmission, most 33kva to 11 kva transformers are dead, new ones cost from 100m to 350m max, why can't your tinubu buy?

The only responsibility the average Nigerian has is to fight online, vote in same old recycled criminals and cry about bad government later, so remove anything that has to xk with responsibility.

Talking about import goods, inferiority complex is our biggest problem. The average man sees made in Nigeria as trash while made in china as the God tier product. We are too lazy to be productive, entertainment is all we know. The government knows all these loop holes and they're aiding the same citizens in failing.

The first power cuts started in the year 1978. Growing up in the 1980's power cuts were a way of life. People blasted NEPA well well well (I can recall reading an old Jossy Abioye editorial cartoon from the early 1980's commenting about a power cut which took place in the middle of a court session...the punchline was 'and they say the law is no respecter of persons"wink

We used gas lanterns and kerosense lanterns. Only the sufficently rich could own a generator. Infact my family at one time had about four kerosene lanterns and one gas lantern (which provided very decent light, even better than kerosene light)...and we also had candles. As I said, generator back then was for the rich and upper middle class.

And access to power was poorer than it is now. My hometown village was not connected to the national grid until twenty years ago. Only one house in the entire village back in the days had a generator, and it was owned by a relatively wealthy villager (who lived mostly in the state capital back then).

And we blasted NEPA then. See the headline below.

And the problem was the same. Lack of cost relfective tarrif, power theft and people doing illegal connection. Generation as at 1999 was not up to 2000 MW. For a country of nearly 100 million people.

The only place that had good light in the 1980's and 90's was Abuja , which had most of its wires buried underground, and even then by 1996, power cuts were happening, and Jos, which was being supplied by Nigeria's first private electricity company..still exists today.

THE MAIN REASON FOR LACK OF CONSTANT POWER IS THAT NIGERIA HAS 250 MILLION PEOPLE. MOST OF WHOM CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR IT.

ELECTRICITY DOES NOT HAVE AFRICAN PRICE AND EUROPEAN PRICE.

WHAT EUROPEAN CITIZENS PAY FOR ELECTRICITY IS WHAT NIGERIANS WILL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE CONSTANT ELECTRICITY, OR VERY CLOSE.

It's the same equipment they all use!

THE DISCOS CANNOT REINVEST IN POWER INFRASTRUCTURE IF THEY ARE NOT PAID BILLS IN WORLD MARKET RATES.

THE FG CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO CHARGE THOSE RATES AS IT IS TANTAMOUNT TO POLITICAL SUICIDE, PARTICULARLY AFTER THE FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL.

SO THE FG IS WAITING FOR THE EFFECTS OF THE SUBSDY REMOVAL TO WANE, AND FOR REFORMS TO LEAD TO MORE PROSPERITY BEFORE IMPOSING THAT NEW COST, IE LIBERALISING POWER CHARGES.

THAT'S REALLY ALL IT IS... undecided

India and Pakistan have been disgraced as well.,...haha

First time I heard of solar inverter was a CNN report from around 2002 on India. Same story...heat drives up electricity demand, power cuts.

India's problem is the same as Nigeria...lack of cost reflective tarrifs. They even did what tinubu did re band A...got the commercial and industrial sector to pay higher for electricty...to suppsoedly subsidsie the agricultural, rural and poorer population. IT DID NOT WORK. Instead it is a financial drain on the commercial and indstrial sector, and the power sector still loses money.

That is why both Nigeria and India need to remove price controls on power. (It's working in Ghana).

Kemi is right. The problem with her comment is the assumption that being oil rich means you got plenty of money...people like NOI and the current Emir of Kano will tell you na lie. Saudi that everyone uses as an example is a oil rich country with massive wasteage of money and no industrial backup. So, if their oil finishes, problem dey. Nigeria does not have enough oil money

But Kemi is right. Nigeria runs a two tier tarrif system, with profits made from band A supposed to cover losses from band B to e. In reality, the losses from those other bands dwarf any profits from band A. That is why we do not have light. We have a power sector that for decades has been forced to run at a loss. That is the problematic government policy in both India and Nigeria.

I know you love tinubu, but tinubu is making a big mistake repeating what has been done for decades, keeping power tarrifs low to keep people happy. A leader is not supposed to keep people happy, a leader is supposed to take tough decisions that eventually would benefit all. And the price controls on power need to go.

Yeah you said UK took 50 trillion from us. Good, but if we got that money back, we have so many things to fix, and even if we fix power, cost reflective tarrifs got to be charged to keep the profits running when that money finishes.

South Korea got financial aid from its colonial master Japan in the 1960's...and they ran a capitalist economy so that they could keep making money when the Japanese money ran out...and also did not suddenly decide to subsidize everyhting.

This is what I'm saying.

INDIA HAS THE SAME ISSUE OF NOT WANTING TO PAY COST-REFLECTIVE TARRIFS due to the large numbers of people who can't afford to pay the bill.

THE INDIAN POLITICIANS REFUSE TO ALLOW IT FOR THE SAME REASON AS OUR OWN POLITICIANS.

IT'S POLITICAL SUICIDE for any ruling party.

No use calling all these small countries like Ghana with 20 million people whose govt can easily subsidise the liberalised costs, easing the burden on the masses.

But for 250 million strong Nigeria and 1 billion strong India, it's a massive financial commitment that would cost tens of billions of dollars per annum.

It's very easy when you are OUTSIDE GOVERNMENT, and it all seems so easy to fix.

But when you are IN, you realise it's a real battle to bring it all together.

Citizens pay taxes and allow those who ask to serve them, emerge into public office and deliver their promises of making the country/ community better. Is that not how it works?

Why should people offer to serve in public office and fail to do what they promised to make the country/ communities better, but continue to receive taxes from people and from companies on their behalf?

What examples are the leaders looters setting huh

chisomkachy:
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.

The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.

Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

PANDORA PAPERS: Buhari visited Tinubu in corruption-tainted London villa acquired by Oyetola

Governor Oyetola, a relative of Mr Tinubu, may have sabotaged his own country by buying the exotic property as Nigeria made to seize it.

ByNicholas IbekweandTaiwo-Hassan Adebayo October 7, 2021 in Headline Stories, Pandora Papers Reading Time: 8 mins read

It was a meeting of two of Nigeria’s most influential politicians in London – President Muhammadu Buhari was visiting political kingmaker and senior member of his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

In July, the presidency announced that Mr Buhari was heading to London for an education summit. The office also added that the president would also see his doctors for “medical check-up”.

Coincidentally, Mr Tinubu, who had travelled to London earlier, was also receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment in the British capital. So, a perfect setting for both men to meet was created.

Nigeria was designed by British to fail
How is the federal, state and local governments different from the people who have sovereignty and give them the power to exercise it on their behalf temporarily?

How was Nigeria designed by the British to fail? How is exporting our miserably meagre resources and ourselves to Britain a sign of our rejection of their designing Nigeria to fail? Exporting even our emotions to support their league and teams.

By the way, how did Britain design Qatar, UAE, India/Pakistan/Bangladesh, Singapore/Malaysia and even America to succeed but they designed us to fail despite leaving us 66 years ago to our own devices?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

Being born and grow in Nigeria is not easy if you’re not from a rich home..

Funny that people are quick to adjust to suffering , while some even see basic amenities of life as luxury..

Nigerian leaders have destroyed the way Nigerians reason..
Eg, if an average Nigerian sees 12 hours uninterrupted power supply, he becomes anxious and afraid of the consequences of having such long hours of supply..

Some of them will think that after this supply, they might not see light again for weeks..

This is how Nigerian politicians have damaged the psyche of an average Nigerian who doesn’t know that to have 24 hours power supply is his right..
You and Kemi have to update yourself on the change made by APC since 2015, when Fashola and Buhari said they will give us electricity.

msmon:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday unfolded its power agenda should it presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, be elected.

The party plans to generate at least 20,000 megawatts (mw) of electricity in four years to surpass Nigeria’s consumption level of around 15, 000mw.

In a statement, the party’s Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) expressed dismay that the Federal Government under President Goodluck Jonathan had only added 1.400mw to the national grid in four years.

The statement by Mallam Garba Shehu, the spokesman of the campaign, quoted Gen. Buhari as saying that while he will not run a witch hunt government, he will not hesitate to deal decisively with cases of impunity and corruption. No probe of any government official, he added.

The statement also quoted Gen. Buhari as saying he is passionately concerned about the sorry conditions of our armed forces today who, despite huge budgetary allocations, have failed to effectively deal with manifest security threats, including the Boko Haram terrorism.

“What he said at every given opportunity is that he is keenly interested in knowing what has gone wrong, if any, with the army that he knew. When he has access to them as Commander-in-Chief, he will like to hear from his commanders what problems they are dealing with so that they can be solved,” Shehu said.

“In a democracy such as ours, all institutions of government, including the armed forces, are accountable. No country can achieve results in its counter-terrorism efforts when there is no transparency in the management of huge resources for the purpose. He (Gen. Buhari) will reinvigorate the armed forces and restore their rapidly evaporating morale,” he said.

The APC Campaign Organisation accused the PDP of wasting billions of naira on non existent power, managing to add a yearly average of 87 megawatts of electricity, showing a massive failure to substantially raise generation and distribution of electric power despite promises and cash infusion of between $16 billion and $20 billion.

Shehu said “nearly 16 years of PDP administration gave this country a miserly addition of 1,400 Mega Watts against the expenditure of more than $16 billion. That translates to 18.5 MW per annum”.
