OPERATION HADIN KAI FRUSTRATES COORDINATED TERRORIST ATTACKS, RESCUES CIVILIANS, DISRUPTS INSURGENT LOGISTICS NETWORKS

The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has continued to consolidate its operational dominance across the North-East, recording significant successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists through a series of well-coordinated offensive and security operations conducted between 11 and 12 June 2026. The operations resulted in the rescue of abducted civilians, arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators and logistics suppliers, recovery of arms and operational stores, as well as the decisive defeat of multiple terrorist attempts to undermine security within the theatre.

In a major humanitarian and operational success, troops of Sector 2, while conducting fighting and perimeter clearance patrols around the Amuda general area on 11 June 2026, rescued three abducted children identified as Ali Usman (15), Umar Ibrahim Abubakar (15), and Fatima Abubakar (12). Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims escaped from terrorist enclaves at SAHA and CHINENE in the Mandara Mountains following sustained military offensives that have continued to degrade and dislocate insurgent strongholds across the region. After profiling and documentation, the children were safely reunited with community leaders in Ngoshe. Similarly, on 12 June 2026, troops of Sector 3 swiftly responded to a terrorist kidnapping attempt along the Damasak–Gubio Main Supply Route and successfully rescued six civilians abandoned by fleeing terrorists following aggressive troop pursuit around the Kareto area.

In further demonstrations of operational effectiveness, troops of 68 Battalion at Mallam Fatori thwarted an attempted terrorist reconnaissance mission after successfully ambushing suspected ISWAP scouts and recovering an AK-47 rifle with a loaded magazine containing 31 rounds of ammunition. Concurrently, troops of Sector 3 operating at Check Point 61 intercepted eleven suspects travelling in two civilian vehicles under suspicious circumstances. Preliminary investigations linked the individuals to attempts at recovering vehicles belonging to known terrorist logistics collaborators previously sighted supporting insurgent activities around Ali Sheriffti. In a related operation, troops of Sector 2 at Mandaragirau arrested a suspected terrorist logistics courier, Malahi Liman Muhammad, along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari axis. Recovered items included large quantities of herbicides, blankets, salt, food supplies, mobile phones, and other materials suspected to be intended for terrorist sustenance and operational support. The suspects are currently undergoing further investigation.

The resilience and combat superiority of OPHK troops were once again demonstrated in the early hours of 12 June 2026 when heavily armed Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists mounted a coordinated three-pronged attack against troops of Sector one at the COP Bridge location. The terrorists, operating with four gun trucks and several motorcycles, launched simultaneous assaults from the Wurge, Manawaji, and Kinuba axes. However, the attack was decisively repelled through the gallant resistance of troops, reinforced by timely artillery and mortar fire support. The terrorists were forced into a disorderly retreat, abandoning large quantities of combat equipment. Subsequent exploitation operations along their withdrawal route led to the recovery of three Rocket Propelled Grenade launchers, seven High Explosive Anti-Tank rounds, and other unexploded ordnance. Ground traces, including dragged bloodstains and body marks, indicated significant enemy casualties during the failed assault. Regrettably, one soldier sustained injuries from RPG fragments and is currently receiving medical attention.

These latest successes further underscore the effectiveness of OPHK’s ongoing offensive operations and intelligence-driven campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, denying insurgents freedom of action, and protecting civilian populations. The cumulative impact of sustained ground offensives, aggressive patrols, precision engagements, and robust intelligence exploitation continues to weaken terrorist capabilities, disrupt their logistics architecture, and compel them into increasingly desperate and unsuccessful attacks. The Military High Command commends the courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of the troops and reassures the public that OPHK remains firmly in control of the operational environment and resolute in its mission to achieve lasting peace, security, and stability across the North-East.

This Rehabilitation nonsense really has to stop

Or else, we would be deceiving ourselves
Have we not been deceiving ourselves before now?
I thought the rehabilitation of a thing was allowed because the late president Buhari was a Northerner who somehow shared in their belief. But seeing same thing happening under president Tinubu is really disappointing and embarrassing.

They are not fans of order and normalcy. On one hand I will not deny they have suffered a disproportionate amount of racial injustice but certain things are indefensible.

The fact that they also kill each other at a higher clip and are never as outraged I also find very confusing

You have to consider there will be other ethnicities too

Asians, Hispanics being the major ones. And they will align to one side or the other

If you think whites are racists towards blacks, let me introduce you to Asians. Which include everyone from middle east to far East including China India Japan Korean etc even if you haven't lived close to them, see how they treat Africans whether within Africa or in their country

The way Hispanics are growing they might become the majority and they cant be accused of slavery or they don't send, are not woke and cannot be guilt tripped
An Asian Rick Chow shot a black kid to death. In his back and was found not guilty.

Black people are less outraged about the guy that shot a kid on his back and went free and instead are defending a boy who actually killed somebody.

I don't like downplaying racism but I find it amusing that black people think these so called minorities are not even more racist than the whites but you can't blame them cos a lot of them don't travel

It's only people that have not experienced proper Arab and Asian racismo that will still see white racism as the worst. Cos at least those ones still care about being Politically correct

Nothing to see here, just a typical Tinubu appointee refusing to be accountable for the failures of the incumbent government.

He gave so many excuse as to why government cannot tackle insecurity decisively like most citizens expect, he claimed members of opposition are inciting insecurity and ended it all by claiming no other government can end insecurity but only God can.

Like I said, there's nothing to see here at all.

The media space is awash with news of citizens of different social standing get abducted daily, but the presidency and government appointees are gaslighting citizens about talks of opposition politics

Major-General Rabe Abubakar: The Wounds We Share
By Gimba Kakanda
I have just read the statement by the Katsina State Government confirming the passing of Major-General Rabe Abubakar, rtd, a former military spokesman, while in captivity. Even though the statement says that “the deceased… died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension,” this does not erase the horror of the circumstances in which he spent his final days. What haunts us is not only the manner of his passing, but the tragedy of a life of service ending in the hands of criminals who have exploited the dysfunctions of our society.

What happened to the General is a tragedy of immeasurable dimension. To return from a career that required putting one’s life on the line for one’s country, only to become a captive of ragtag criminals, is a fate no patriot deserves. It is a cruel reminder that this weather of insecurity is one we all breathe and feel. It bears our names, our faces, our families, and the histories of service behind its victims.

There is no dignified way to avoid the truth that, as a nation and as a government, we have let down the General and many others who have met similar fates. This does not take away from the efforts I know were ongoing to secure his release or rescue, nor from the renewed operations and proactive steps being taken to confront these criminal networks. But grief must never be managed with denial. Something more radical, more coordinated, and more sustained must be done to break this chain of tragic events. Contrary to the assumptions of some, nobody is immune.

What happened to the General is a cautionary tale for all of us in government today. The General, who once served in one of the most protected institutions in the country, could never have imagined such an ending. That is why it remains baffling when anyone assumes that those in public office are insulated from the failures and fractures of the nation. The same roads, the same communities, the same future, and the same consequences await us all.

As a northerner, I am doubly troubled by the direction in which our region has been dragged. No honest person can claim ignorance of how we got here. If we are even more honest, we must admit that the untrained, abandoned, and hopeless children on our streets are being turned into cannon fodder for present and future dysfunctions. Even if banditry and terrorism are defeated, a vulnerable demographic left without education, discipline, opportunity, or hope will remain available for other invidious agendas against the Nigerian state.

This is the part that should frighten us most. We once spoke of building human capital. Today, too many of our people are trapped in the desperate arithmetic of survival.

The government has the primary and non-negotiable responsibility to protect lives and property. But no government policy, however well designed, can fully overcome a society that refuses to confront parental irresponsibility, the abandonment of children, hostility to education in some communities, and the casual normalisation of neglect. Security is not sustained by bullets alone. It is sustained by schools, families, values, livelihoods, justice, and a population civilised enough to reject the temptations of nihilism.

And yet, we cannot afford to lose hope. Despair is exactly what these criminals want to manufacture. They want citizens to stop believing in the possibility of order, to stop trusting the state, and to stop imagining a country that can still be rescued. We must refuse them that victory. We must mourn the dead, demand better from the living, and insist that the Nigerian state still has the duty and capacity to reclaim every inch of its authority.

May Allah forgive Major-General Rabe Abubakar, rtd, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and comfort his family. My condolences also go to all families who have lost loved ones to this madness. May their grief not be in vain, and may our country find the courage to end this tragedy.
Very well said

It seems some people don't yet know the games they are playing in the North.

Buharis region has been overtaken by bandits for many months now, bandits have overtaken his homestate even his own village Daura and he is not able to do anything. If Buhari dies today he is not guaranteed that bandits will not attack his burial ceremony
If you know how much Northerners rever and respect military men. I will say next to clerics its soldiers they respect the most. Now seeing a General treated like this in his own state and nothing was done to it shows how much terror and power the terrorists have.

Protect your states, community yourself anyway you can

Nigeria signs a deal to repatriate prisoners from Ethiopia, and 98% of these prisoners are Igbos

There has got to be a serious orientation about this "Get-Rich-Quick" mentality from the East. It's worrisome

Imagine the hundreds languishing in a prison in Ethiopia...Wetin dey Ethiopia abeg?

Nothing to see here, just a typical Tinubu appointee refusing to be accountable for the failures of the incumbent government.

He gave so many excuse as to why government cannot tackle insecurity decisively like most citizens expect, he claimed members of opposition are inciting insecurity and ended it all by claiming no other government can end insecurity but only God can.

Like I said, there's nothing to see here at all.

The media space is awash with news of citizens of different social standing get abducted daily, but the presidency and government appointees are gaslighting citizens about talks of opposition politics
Someone will come here and start trying to pick silly holes in my argument to split the country by pointing to India.

Matawalle doesn't have a university degree. He finished secondary school in 1985 and worked as a school teacher from 1990-1993, and a clerk in ministry of water resources from 94-98 before becoming a career politician.

This man had a less than mediocre CV that wouldn't get him a job better than a Bank Teller when he went into politics. He ended up being a Governor and ended his governorship term under investigation by EFCC for stealing 70 billion Naira

Matawalle's successor as Zamfara governor, Dauda Lawal, revealed that Matawalle wasn't just cutting deals with Bandits during his time in government house, he was buying the bandits Hilux trucks, hosting them in government house and laundering their ransom money for them.

Matawalle was supposed to be contesting Governorship in 2027. Instead Dauda Lawal the incumbent and his political opponent defected to APC a few months ago and Matawalle announced he would be dropping his own governorship bid and supporting the candidacy of the man who had directly accused him of being a Bandit Financier only last year.

Tinubu has to cut deals with both of these men because the configuration of this useless contraption requires him to get numbers in the north. So a WAEC holder with only 9 years career experience in low level clerical roles is given a portfolio like minister of state for defence, and is asked to suppress his gubernatorial ambitions for his rival who decamps and joins him the same party.

It's no surprise to hear the WAEC holder tell you that politicians are sponsoring insecurity - he's describing himself. It's no surprise to hear him telling Nigerians to pray to God to save them - he's just telling the truth, nobody can solve this problem

But but India...whilst living in a reality where even life is bängïng on a bángër boy

Tinubu is himself a shady character, and has been cutting deals with shady characters before he met either of Mattawale or Dauda Lawal.

It seems PSP has failed in Lagos under this Sanwoolu's administration.

Alsmots all major bus stops and public spaces now you would see dirt lined across the road. Road median and kerbs are not spared sinpky because the refuse collection trucks have not been going to people's places of residence and business to collect refuse as at when due.

I had to buy an extra drum as dumpster because these people have stopped coming regularly, yet the drum is filled and they are nowhere to be found.

I fear there might be an outbreak of Cholera or any other endemic that thrives in dirt mixed with water especially now during the raining season.

In all of these, it seems Sanwoolu and his commissioner of environment don't even care at all. Seems everyone of them have zoned out of 2026 and getting geared towards 2027
