The government is not focused on the substance of the case as they have nothing to hold against him. The focus is rather on keeping him away from the 2027 conversation because Tinubu himself knows the capacity of Elrufai to unmake him as president. The ingrates and betrayers will be taught bitter political lessons come 2027. |

A typical Nigerian politician cannot be outside the radar of the govt except if your hands are clean and never steal a kobo from public funds. If the govt is ready for you, no Jupiter can save you. If you think you're above the law, just try and steal public funds and continue to harass the govt in power, na that time you go know say khaki no be leather. I have never seen a sincere politician in Nigeria, they are all the same. |

Amalekki:Why not tell us what the key charges against him are? The only key charge against him I know about is that he left the APC and vowed to unmake Tinubu as president. Meanwhile Yahaya Bello and Ifeanyi Okowa are running for Senate. Even Nnaji, who left the APC and became the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Enugu just saw a resurrection of his certificate forgery case. Meanwhile, Tinubu passed a law in the electoral act decriminalising age falsification and certificate forgery. Apparently, it only applies to the president. |

El Rufai is corrupt and Tinubu is not. Wonderful! Ganduje? No Wike? No Akpabio? No The evil that men do lives after them Note: I am not exonerating El Rufai but selective justice is the worst form of injustice |

Corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of Nigeria that it is now the norm. That the searchlight is flashed on El Rufai, is a welcomed development, and he is entitled to defend the allegations against him. However, let me ask: Had El Rufai agreed to support Tinubu when Tinubu was wooing him, would El Rufai had been charged for corruption? If Yes, why are other well known corrupt politicians still in his cabinet (to the point that some of them are unapologetically controlling the political activities of their states of origin against the people's wishes, and some are awarding government contracts without following the procurement laws of the country) not being tried for corruption? So, is it not corruption not to judicially try corrupt officials in the current government? |

post=139722876:this looks like a state sponsored trial else officials involved should be made to answer not him |
