Their votes are insignificant, but they never learn how to play politics in Nigeria.
It is the most unsmart thing for someone of his calibre to say.

Erstwhile Commissioner, and three term- former federal legislator and now Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo.

Is he saying that the votes from the Southeast aren't counted as part of the INEC figures during National Elections?

Oftentimes, I wonder how these men earn PhDs.

How does the fact that a region's cumulative smaller votes translate to its insignificance upon considering the overall election figures by the Electoral Commission.

You call someone who served as member of the Nigerian House of Representatives for three times pedestrian analyst. Lol

I am sure you cant even win a ward election in your village.
Serving in the House of Representatives doesn't assign ominiscience status to anyone.

What exceptional dividends did he bring to his people of Orumba North and South Federal Constituency in 12 years?

Since when have winning ward elections or being in politics become the determinants of the quality of an individual's reasoning or analysis?

How many of them truly win elections sef?

Yes, we voted Obasanjo and Jonathan and both also became president

This self consolation is predictable. It's delusional tho cheesy

Democracy wasn't actually designed to produce the most intelligent and most qualified candidate. It has never and will never do so, even in the most advanced democracies of the world.

How will a system that gives even a mentally retarded illiterate adult the same choice right as a well educated smart one produce an intelligent winner?
I can’t comprehend what you are saying
Absolute nonsense

So in your view; democracy is designed to have failures as leaders??
Hmm

100,000s of Yorubas in each state if the SW still voted OBJ and Yaradua. They don't block vote like the Igbos, but their votes were still significant. Compare that to how Igbos voted Buhari twice and Tinubu once.

2023 Tinubu's vote:
Enugu 4,772
Ebonyi 42,402
Anambra 5,111
Abia 8,914
Imo 66,171

2019 Buhari's vote:
Enugu 54,423
Ebonyi 90,726
Anambra 33,298
Abia 85,058
Imo 140,463

2015 Buhari's vote:
Enugu 14,157
Ebonyi 19,518
Anambra 17,926
Abia 13,394
Imo 133,253
------------------------------------------
1999 Obasanjos vote:
Ogun 143,564
Lagos 209,012
Ondo 133,323
Osun 187,011
Ekiti 191,618
Oyo 227,668

2003 Obasanjos vote:
Ogun 1,360,170
Lagos 1,129,521
Ondo 840,988
Osun 582,089
Ekiti 301,185
Oyo 828,725

What’s hard to understand about his point of view? If a country can run three election cycles without your input, your political influence is nearly gone — so how will you protect your region’s interests?

Igbo votes are for intelligent candidates who they feel will deliver and not for jokers that I have noticed
Intelligent people like Obi that had third class that took him six years to earn. He doesn't understand the meaning of green energy. He said that he went to Harvard to study Market to Market Management...MMM grin. He said that if he wins the election he will spend one year to go round the country before he will know Nigerian's problems. I can go on and on.

It's hard because it is a defeatist and baseless point of view.

Why would any right thinking person look at the cumulative votes of people from a particular region and describe it as 'insignificant'?

Do those votes not form part of the votes of either the winner or losers of the election?

Una reasoning sha!

In case you don't know, I know Ben Nwankwo very well. He could be susceptible to such petty reasoning. It's such a shame!

Did the winners of the last three election cycles you talked about win in all the regions of the country?

Make una stop such silly reasoning abeg.

Funny how smart ass like you think too much of yourself. For past few elections, Igbos has proven beyond doubt that they are a force to recon with. Every political calculations knows this now.
Though Igbos has voted in isolation most times, all hindering factor remains the phobia and every Igbo think tank knows that and you know it too.

Silly reasoning? Yet your people are often the first to lament marginalization and lack of infrastructure. Asking for a seat at the table is your right, and it should in no way be seen as silly. Play your politics right—split your votes if you must.

No Nigerian is more or less Nigerian than the other, but what grants access is participation. I mean, why would anyone put your interests ahead of theirs if you're not willing to actively pursue and protect them yourself?

Can you back this your nonsense up with the voters data from 1999 till date? Yorubas voted for Obj and Yaradua en mass...
You can only confuse your ignorant and confused followers. Someone has already replied you with data anyway.... So next time don't say what you don't know

Validated:
Very unintelligent analysis, some pedestrian analysts just carry microphone 🎤 to confuse the weak minded.

Yoruba NEVER voted for OBJ and Yar Adua. Yet both were presidents, do we now call SW insignificant?

[quote author=lionshare post=139727099]To look at it objectively, genuine democratic politics happens when voters are free from manipulation and can vote according to their conscience. Relying on split or block voting patterns doesn't define good politics, and it's a misconception to think otherwise.

True governance and its benefits should never be conditional on which region, state, or community provided the most votes for a leader. We rarely see this kind of transactional logic in advanced democracies.

This kind of narrow mindset only holds our country back. It’s especially disappointing to see this outlook from a young person, from whom we should expect more forward-thinking views.

ward ke.....polling unit!

He isnt saying anything that hasn't been said before but you see that pride of accepting reality will be their greatest undoing politically!

The Igbos do well in virtually every other field but when it comes to politics they become emotional and play this self-defeatist game every single time.
Nothing like any igbo pride here but facing reality only a very sick person will expect the whole igbos to be voting for the apc that brought calamity to nigeria a party that deliberately invited terrorists into nigeria to be terrorising and kidnapping innocent nigerians because greed for power never meant well for nigeria and definitely has absolutely nothing to offer. Igbos will continue to vote against the apc in every presidential election even if they end up on the loosing side but will definitely still end up being vindicated.

Party isn't the problem in Nigeria. Why did Igbos vote Atiku Obi in 2019 if they are not voting APC? How is Atiku not APC?. Therefore Igbos are part of the people voting APC

1. None cares who you vote for. Absolutely, no one!

2. Nobody said Igbos as a whole must vote APC but what common sense demands is that you don't put all your eggs in one basket and then turn around to demand from the system what you never gave! This is a reality!

3. Since you end up being vindicated why cry marginalization every single time. You've been crying like this since after the war! Isn't vindication enough for you? You will do this after 2027 again, bookmark this!

4. Purge yourself of hate and vote whoever you choose but stop gaslighting people when they make theirs too! If you voted angels, the SE would be another Dubai by now! So Shoosh abeg!

5. If you have a grouse to grind, go and meet your kinsman and all those who saw sense in what he was saying in the video biko!
