DHQ PRESS RELEASE

TROOPS RESCUE WIFE OF FORMER DIRECTOR DEFENCE INFORMATION FROM BANDITS

Troops of the Nigerian Army with the support of the Nigerian Air Force have successfully rescued Mrs Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar and former Director Defence Information, who was abducted by bandits alongside her husband a few weeks ago.

The rescue operation followed intensified search-and-rescue efforts conducted by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA. During sustained offensive operations and pressure mounted on the criminal elements, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs Abubakar.

In the course of the encounter, the bandits shot Mrs Abubakar before abandoning her and fleeing due to the overwhelming pressure from advancing troops.

Mrs Abubakar was immediately evacuated and is currently receiving medical attention at a military hospital, where she is responding to treatment.

The leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to ensuring her full recovery and is providing all necessary support to her family during this difficult period.

Troops will continue ongoing operations to track down and neutralise the perpetrators, while intensifying efforts to rid affected communities of terrorists not just in Katsina but in the entire nation.

SAMAILA UBA
Major General
Director Defence Information

Really surprised when I saw the post.

Unconsciously Illbliss has informed his hosts that Igbos investing in real estate are in it for a “territorial conquest”. Highly irresponsible of him.
Which one is irresponsible? That Igbos are investing or that he said it openly?

You're so insecure

If you're angry come and buy land in SE, I have one in a major city I am selling
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 3:24am On Jun 16
You put land up for sale. Someone buys it and you chop the money

Then the person comes openly to celebrate his investments. Then you get offended. You dey mad? Eh Airmark?

He talks too much. Any one that talks too much always has a lot of explanations to make all the time especially when they assume sainthood
He has become an embarrassment honestly. He has lost any goodwill he previously had as one of the pioneers of modern Nollywood.

My annoyance is that he is using the Igbos as a front for his nonsense.

Can Kenneth Okonkwo suggest Easterners that Atiku can use for VP?

Because Amaechi looks like the only option, even though he is a very wrong one...

It's possible that an Appeal court might overturn the judgement. Very possible.

My own issue is that who did he think Atiku should have used?

Unless he was thinking it would be him.

But how's it that ADC, ZLP and Accord party are getting deregistered and Sowore's AAC continues to remain a political party?

What criteria was used to deregister those parties that spared Sowore's AAC ?

This country, if dem explain am give u and u understand it; means the person no explain well.

PS: Not like I'm a fan of ADC, ZLP or Accord party, but we need to really understand the yardstick used to deregister these aforementioned parties while Sowore and his AAC keep existing.

True sha

If you say ADC and the likes should be deregistered because they didn't win any seat in the last election, how come AAC was excluded?

Let's even assume there's a law that says parties who don't meet some criteria should be deregistered. What are the criteria AAC fulfil that parties like ADC, Accord and ZLP has not fulfilled?

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:29am On Jun 16
It was the position of the plaintiff that the five political parties listed as defendants in the matter had persistently failed to meet the constitutional benchmarks required to retain their registration.

The former legislators stressed that the requirements include winning at least 25 per cent of votes in a state during a presidential election or securing at least one elective seat at the national, state, or local government level.

They told the court that the ADC and the four other parties performed poorly in both the 2023 general elections and by-elections conducted by INEC, thereby failing to win seats across key tiers of government.
The bold is criteria the judge used in pronouncing that ADC, APP, ZLP, Accord and AA be deregistered by INEC. Somehow we expected to believe Sowore's AAC and other mushroom parties who will be on the ballot in 2027 met the criteria but the aforementioned parties didn't grin

This country is a joke sha. Our judiciary is a mess ; the same Judiciary that allowed Akpabio and Lawan to contest and win their senatorial bids despite having lost their tickets in 2023 after contesting for presidency in contravention of the electoral act.

Dele Farotimi knew what he was doing when he titled his book Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System; Our justice system is criminal in all intent and purpose!

The main difference is that AAC members do not have any dispute in any court over party leadership

As it is said 'Lizards can only hide in walls that are already cracked'.

The suit did not deregister ADC because of any issues with party leadership

Did u read the judgement as reported in the news at all ? Where in the judgement did it state that the judge's pronouncement was based on "dispute over party leadership"?

I don't seem to get the correlation between your post and the one you responded to.

I did not bother to read the judgement but there was a dispute is why they were in court. The ADC in particular did not conduct themselves very well at all. They should have been able to stay under one umbrella and it would not have been able to affect the results of any genuine primary election because why exactly should who the chairman is matter? And there are provisions in any party constitution to remove any chairman at any time. So the ADC in particular are complicit in whatever fate has befallen them

Don't bring the AAC into the argument. They don't have weight but are united

You did not bother to read the judgement, and you're arguing on it? grin

Na wa!

The judgement has absolutely nothing to do with leadership.

You just have to read first, before you argue, or at least use Google

I can do that later. What I responded to is the comparison between AAC and the deregistered parties

lawani:

The comparison is based on the judgement passed.

ADC was deregistered because they failed to win any political seat in 2023.

AAC failed to win any too, so why wasn't it deregistered? Has Leadership got anything to do with this?

If that is the only reason then it of course can not stand but for the court to make any such pronouncement at all is because there was a litigation before the court that mentioned ADC and not AAC which still goes back to the problem of unity.

So AAC have no issues because they are united
