US wanted to stop IRAN from Nuclear weapon that was actually what caused the whole war not the blockade of the water ways .

Iran first blocked the straits of Hormuz then opened it and start collecting $1m per ship and then Us went and block the exact place while Iran blocked the gulf .

During negotiation for ending the war USA achieved their only objective of the war which is to stop anything nuclear weapon program by Iran .

In your none myopic mind who won, is it the one that achieved the target or the one who was hell bent on keeping up with the program and daring that nothing can stop them ?

USA don’t like the idea and went there to block such thing from happening, IRAN then drifted backwards and block the Persian Gulf . Which means Iran blocked 8 gulf countries from moving shipment within themselves.

While USA blocked the main expressway that shipment cannot enter or leave the Gulf nation including IRAN .
