Also show me any other politician who rejected land gift and pensions as Obi and still goes about doling out money in millions to support education like Obi. First off, this was a car crash interview the likes of which we have never seen in Nigeria. Considering Rufai was restrained in tearing into Peter Obí and his banal words during this interview, Peter Obí still came out of it very badly. Grabbing the interviewers hands, putting his hands on his shoulders, the optics were very poor, before we even get to the verbals. Back to the topic, we know Peter Obi didn't take any money directly, we also know it was his expenses that was paid off so why the play on words by him as they are one and the same. The only reason he left LP was because Abure had insisted on primaries to select their next flag bearer and Obi knew he can not win LP primaries due to how he treated LP candidates from outside the SE. Even the LP gubernatorial candidate was thrown under the bus by Obi who asked Wike openly to leave presidency for him in exchange for Wike getting the governorship. It is not for you to know how. It is for you to look at the man who is saying this,” Obi said. The former Anambra governor maintained that he had a history of fulfilling promises while in office and reiterated his commitment to improving Nigeria’s electricity supply. “I have said, and I repeat, that in four years we will generate, transmit, and distribute at least 10,000 megawatts of electricity,” he stated. As Rufai Oseni, the host, continued to demand specifics, Obi stood his ground, insisting that voters should focus on whether they trust him to deliver. “They don’t need to know. They need to believe in me,” he said. Obi also criticized successive governments over Nigeria’s power sector, claiming that no new government-owned power plant had been commissioned since 2015.
