DrAda:
Maybe. I won't argue with that logic.

I like to think of it this way. Imagine you are at a function and your food served. Just as you are about to eat it, a traditionalist shouts that this food has been poisoned with a tasteless substance and then right there and then, a bishop declares that the food is safe and we all should ignore him and eat our food. What will you do?

You can't prove that the food is poisoned just like one can't prove that there will be no accident in this case scenario. So what will you do? Keep eating?
Your own analogy is even simpler to deal with because there is a sure way to know if the food is actually poisoned or not, no matter if the information is coming from a dibia or from a bishop

But when it comes to something like an impending accident, you strictly have to rely on your instinct!

And not on what someone else says

You feel me?

True again but my analogy is not that different from the one painted by the op since you can equally prove if there would be an accident by staying in that bus till it gets to its destination.

I will definitely do as the spirit leads, it has never failed me before.

At times I abort some missions when I get signs, I don't need any pastor or babalawo to tell me anything.
With the current reputation of these modern native doctors... who's to guarantee the bugger isn't planning to kidnap sacrifices for some wicked ritual?

I don't trust them, but I trust the pastors even less.

All I can do is enter battle mode whichever decision the driver needs to follow. And if I could, I'll simply jump ship.

I can't use my life to stake of road sporty.
The native doctor might actually be wrong but will try to manipulate evil to happen so he won't be made a joke of himself.
So here wisdom will be profitable to direct.

BluntCrazeMan:
Before the drama, your spirit didn't tell you anything or give you any signs..
That means, you are definitely staying back.!!
Yes, that's my point.

I don't trust native doctors, pastors these days are even worse. They strike fear in you to collect your money.

You are in a bus travelling and suddenly a traditional doctor stops the bus, says he's seeing an accident ahead and wants to drop off with his bags. A pastor calls from the back seat saying, 'Nothing will happen, let's go.' As a passenger, what will you do?
Seeing is believing, I will stay in between

What's the difference between a Nigerian pastor and the native doctor.... I won't listen to either.
Re: What Would You Do? by EvangelistChuks(m): 9:37am On Jun 18
I will go ahead. Why you may ask ?1) because I am a Child of God.2) because the prophesy is from a lying spirit.3) because the Word of God said that no evil will befall me ,neither will any weapon fashioned against me prosper, even as I will not die but live to declare the goodness of God.
Notice that I didn't mention the Pastor not because genuine men of God doesn't have power but because of my personal relationship with my Jesus Christ.
Jesus loves you.

Well in similar situations that I’ve been in, the crowd decides for me. If I see most people running, I will run. If most are sitting , I sit.

CaseSensitive:
Ifa is a spiritual and philosophical system, you don't sacrifice to Ifa. Do you offer sacrifices to Esu? Absolutely. So, since we're on whataboutism - are there no rituals and sacrifices in the bible involving blood? (Assuming you're christian) You may want to read Leviticus, Exodus, and Deuteronomy especially. Even christians believe Jesus was a human sacrifice to God. (There's nothing like human sacrifice in Ifa system by the way).

Even in Judaism which is the religion that Jesus practised, they offer blood sacrifices to God for a whole lot of things - sin offering, burnt offering, peace offering, guilt offering and other rituals.

Know the religion you practice, read your bible too in depth. Not just the chapters that preaches prosperity, "heaven", and placing curses on "village people".
No1, I am not a religionist. Yes I was born into a Christian home and have read the Bible so many times.
But my conscious self doesn't believe in all those bumkum again.
So if you can call me an atheist now, you're not far from the truth.
.
But in the so call Bible which you directed me to that I have also read. Why are you not separating the old testament to the new ones. The new said no more blood sacrifices.
To my own understanding, anything blood sacrifices is evil. And I am still doubting your ifa doesn't do blood sacrifice of a claim.
I will find that out
Re: What Would You Do? by Lovelydaisies: 11:37am On Jun 18
Unless where you are going isn't important. What if you come down and a car hits you out of nowhere? The life we struggle so hard to save is actually in the hands of God. Follow who you worship.

I myself was born into a deeply religious christian home until I started asking uncomfortable questions and digging dip into history but anyway that's by the by.

Why should you separate Old Testament from the New Testament? If you have to distinguish parts or sections of a supposed "Holy Bible", what does that achieve? If the New Testament is now the "approved" section of the bible that Christians should live by then why did the Old Testament make the cut?

How is blood offering evil? How do you decide what's evil and what's not? What's your frame of reference? Is it the same God that happily accepted blood sacrifices in the Old Testament, the same God that told Christians in the New Testament not to offer blood sacrifices anymore because he already accepted Jesus's blood as sacrifice? Help me make it make sense.

Again, you don't make sacrifices to Ifa. Ifa is like a conduit and depending on your circumstances, Ifa may tell you what deity to appease and how to appease the deity which may or may not include animal sacrifices.

About you being an atheist, I suppose that's fair, you don't have to belong to any religion. Everyone should be allowed to practice whatever religion they deem fit but I hold a strong opinion that Christianity and Islam doesn't belong to us.

I'd trust my Holy Spirit and would most likely get off the bus with the "traditional doctor". A pastor herds a flock of sheep, A real ifa oracle sees with the third eye and guide you to navigate life accordingly. This is who we were before the colonisers brought their religion and told our ancestors that our spirituality is evil.

Ifa is not evil. Esu is not satan.
Esu is not Satan, but esu is the chief head of evils. Babalawos always try to avoid esu in other not to get into trouble since he was the one that always destabilize and injure other gods. ESU MA SE MI OMI ELOMIRAN NI KO SE chants of traditionalist, se Ori re pe bayi?

Don't lend opinions on things you know less about or assert a position out of ignorance. A Babalawo that avoids Esu is not a Babalawo. When they say "Èṣù ma se mi, omo elomiran ni ko se" it's generally an appeal to Esu asking him to bless their path with clarity and redirect any harsh lessons or chaos toward those who mean harm towards them.

Esu is an entirely impartial deity. If you perform good deeds, Esu ensures you receive blessings. If you act with greed, malice, or ignore spiritual wisdom, he enforces the natural consequences of those actions.

Go and learn about yourself, your heritage, your very rich culture and traditions. Most importantly go and learn about your ancestor's way of life instead of some Jewish or Arabian's way of life and religion.
