I don't think any language certificate is required...
Okay sir, but what document did you use to prove your language skills?

I am not using any just my degree is enough. I joined the queue in October and I haven't been called for preliminary review yet but that is what I have learned from people before me... Unless something changed of recent.

I don't have any specific knowledge on the certificate you would need, but I think the other person did not remember that there are two pathways for the visa, the point system and the university degree pathway. The point system is the one that requires certification, and I haven't seen any info on that. Most people here use university degree.

Yea... That was why I had to mention in my second response that I am using my degree

Between a €13,000 blocked account and a part-time job contract with a €3,000 blocked account, which is better and increases visa approval chances?

I think you would need to do more research, but here is a good starting point https://www.expatrio.com/opportunity-card

Please guys any update?

Also October applicants, have you started receiving invites?

Since early March, I haven't seen anyone post about receiving a decision after their interview. What's happening? Has everyone suddenly stopped sharing updates?

Please, I only responded to the question asked if anyone has got decision. I don't know anything about the person's process be it the date he or she applied or receive the decision. I just felt the need to pass the information that someone got the visa. Thanks

Hello Guys. My interview is coming up soon. I was wondering how will I get my documents back after the whole interview process?
Do I need to bring a prepaid courier envelope(DHL or FedEx) or I want just pay for delivery at the consulate there?

Hello everyone, please I need some advice.

My birth certificate contains incorrect spellings of my surname and my parents’ surnames. Since I’m unable to obtain a corrected birth certificate, I’ve opted for an attestation process. I first completed an affidavit for age declaration before getting the attestation done.

However, I’ve already uploaded the birth certificate with the errors. Will I be able to remove it and upload the NPC attestation when I get to the PR stage?

Also, is the NPC attestation sufficient as a valid replacement document in this case?

Any guidance will be appreciated.
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Jollyana(f): 10:17pm On Jun 21
You can't delete or remove any document you have previously uploaded. You can only add the newly updated docs.
The NPC attestation and the age declaration affidavit from a High Court work best. Someone once said they favored this because it has a QR code on it that they can scan to verify your details.

Good Afternoon, Is there anyone that has been recently called for interview?

Dutch2:
The Opportunity Card, also known as the "Chancenkarte," is a program by the German government designed to facilitate the entry of skilled workers from non-EU countries. It gives you the opportunity to move to Germany to look for work in your field of qualification for 20 months without a need for things like a blocked account, sponsorship letter, or invitation. The perks and more details of this program are as follows.

Entry without Permanent Employment Contract: Unlike traditional visa programs, this program allows you to enter Germany without having a pre-arranged permanent employment contract. This opens up opportunities to explore the German job market firsthand.

Criteria for Eligibility: To qualify for the Opportunity Card, you must meet specific criteria, including having at least two years of vocational training or a university degree recognized in your home country. Additionally, you need to demonstrate proficiency in either German (A1 level) or English (B2 level) and prove financial stability to support yourself during your stay, more on this later.

Points System: Candidates are evaluated based on a points system. You need to score at least six points to be eligible. These Points are awarded for various factors such as language proficiency, professional experience, age, and previous connections to Germany.

Duration of Stay: For People who qualify for the Opportunity Card, you will be allowed to stay in Germany for one year ie 12 months, at first, with the possibility of extending your stay for up to two additional years, i.e. 24 more months. During this time, your focus must be on finding suitable employment.

Work Permits: With the Opportunity Card, you are permitted to work in Germany for up to 20 hours per week, in jobs unrelated to your field, as you continue to look for a job in your field. This allows you to gain practical experience and explore potential career opportunities in the German job market. With this permit, you may not need to present proof of financial stability upfront, as stated previously. There will be a portal opened when this program officially kicks off in the next few weeks, to help you apply for these 20-hour-a-week jobs, to help you finance your stay in Germany while you search for a job. With a job offer through this portal, you won't have to provide proof of financial stability upfront.

Path to Permanent Residence: While the Opportunity Card itself is a temporary residence permit, it can pave the way for obtaining a permanent residence permit in Germany. Successful integration into the workforce and meeting certain criteria may lead to permanent residency.

Simplified Entry and Job Search Procedures: The Opportunity Card streamlines the entry process for you as a skilled worker from a non-EU country, making it easier to enter Germany and seek employment. It eliminates the need for lengthy approval procedures and allows you to start looking for jobs immediately upon arrival. Literally, the next day after your arrival.

One question that may be on your mind is, How does the transition from the Opportunity Card to a permanent residence permit work?
You have to apply for another permit or for a permanent residence title in Germany at the local Foreigners’ Registration Office. You can change from the Opportunity Card to a follow-up residence title if you meet the criteria for the other residence titles. This could be language skills or specialist knowledge in your profession. If you have found a part-time or full-time job in Germany via the Opportunity Card, this counts as a criterion for extending your stay in Germany. Changing to a residence title for regular employment is uncomplicated.

Questions like the one above and many more are available on the Official Chancekarte website. https://chancenkarte.com/de/

Everyone is welcome to contribute to this thread and provide any information that maybe helpful to others, about applying to this program, what the job market in Germany is like, and general living in Germany as a black immigrant. Good luck to everybody.

They've not even gone far in October... October 8th candidates yet to be called. September applicants should help us with the status of their applications so far... If they've gotten to the interview stage or still on the review stage.

You don’t need to as long as your documents are ok and no forged one.

One of the most important things you can do for this journey is to evaluate your Degree through Zab. Even though your Degree and your School is on Anabin. It saves the long process of verifications and makes them perceive you as being ready.

Also, make sure the company intending to give you the contract goes through Agentur für Arbeit to evaluate the salary and see if it is matches the role they are offering to you. You might be denied even though your documents are ok but your salary doesn’t meet the minimum threshold for the role offered.

If possible, ask the company to help you do a ‘Fast Track Procedure’ it means ‘beschleunigtes Fachkräfteverfahren‘. It will cost the company €411 to do it. Due to the cost, not every company will want to do it but if they eventually agree, after your physical appointment at the embassy, within 4weeks, you'll get your visa approved.

Interesting.

What then is the typical timeline?. I thought 4 weeks is already long

Thank you very much. I've applied for Zab/kmk verification and the company is waiting for the Zab result to proceed with fast tracking 81a procedures both at their expenses

Hello everyone, I stumbled on this thread last year "Migrating to Germany for free" sounded interesting, and I read it end to end to understand the process, eye opening honestly.
I joined the opportunity card waitlist, but knowing I couldn't afford the blocked account amount, I started job hunting, hoping to land a part-time role to meet the funds requirement. It went further than expected, I went through an interview process, the company suggested I look into the blue card instead so I could work full-time, and I eventually got a full-time offer that clears the threshold. So I'm now on the Blue Card route. Got my ZAB done in about two weeks (Blue Card priority) and submitted.

Thank you to everyone keeping this thread alive, I genuinely wouldn't have known where to start without it.

One question for those ahead of me: I had a few things to correct at the preliminary review stage and fixed most of them. After the last correction required, which I completed over a week ago, I haven't heard back and the portal still shows preliminary review. Is that normal? Earlier, correction requests came within a day or two, so I'm not sure if the silence means everything's now in order or something else. Would appreciate any experience.

I'm not sure you did the right thing and your application will most likely be rejected.

You cant apply whilst being under consideration for a Blue card as you have a full time offer already. You have to stick to one which in your case should be the blue card.

Since you have a full time offer, I would advise you strictly stick to the blue card and possibly withdraw your opportunity card application.

BTW, this is just an advise, please feel free to do your own thorough research before deciding
