Parts prices will likely erode whatever gain you might make on fuel costs

Kindly tell us how much you bought the skeletal bumper at Ladipo for a start

Nigerians tend to forget that fuel is only one of the many expenses involved in having a car...what's the point of saving money on fuel but can't find vehicle parts, or the parts are expensive ?
Will he be changing parts everyday?

I swear bro.. I can't imagine that.. I will rather go for a car I will just fuel and drive away
.

Some of us like to understand the mechanics of machines and derive joy in fixing stuffs, like bringing death to life😀. The body rebranding is already giving me joy. By the time, all is set and done, the small guy will be a joy🙂.

Lie lie. I counted the cost before setting out. After all expenses, the 2016 model will still be below 3m. I don't think it's a bad buy.

You have got a very good and reliable car OP.
And top of, it's a Skyactive Engine. Most car enthusiasts are beginning to lighten up on Mazdas.
Congrats and take care of your machine. 👋

Today, 22/06/2026, my Mazda2 fired up for the first time smiley after the steering was fixed. I still noticed some noise when steering to the far left but the steering is very soft now. The movement to work this morning was smooth. I'm testing with 10litres to know how much Km it will cover.

I just saw the recommended car PSI on the door tag- 36 for front, 46 for back. What do you suggest Elders about inflating the tyres with the recommended?

Documenting for future reference:

The car covered 121km on 10 Nigerian litres. I think it's fair enough. Tuning will commence fully. I have drained the oil and used 5W-30. I will change the front passenger tire to rhyme with the driver's side. Go for wheel balancing and alignment to monitor handling and fuel consumption, then scan the car. Thanks

So yesterday, two old tires 185/65R15 were discarded and new 195/65R15 was used to rhyme with the others. Today, wheel balancing and alignment continues.
All expenses below 2.5m. 10litres of fuel served the working days

For first-generation car owners, my advice is to keep things simple. Read the owner's manual, follow the service schedule, and don't ignore warning lights. Check tire pressure and engine oil regularly, as these small habits can save you money later.

If you're buying your first car, it's also a good idea to read reviews and compare different models before making a decision. I found <a https://carzonwheel.com useful for checking car reviews and comparisons.
