In a country where thousands of graduates spend years searching for employment after leaving school, 30 students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) have just received the kind of news many young Nigerians can only dream about.

Africa's richest industrialist, Aliko Dangote, has reportedly offered automatic employment opportunities to 30 FUTO students after they visited the Dangote Refinery and Fertilizer Plant in Lagos on an educational tour.

The remarkable development was disclosed by FUTO's Vice Chancellor, Nnenna Oti, who led the students on the tour between June 14 and June 16, 2026.

According to Professor Oti, the President of the Dangote Group personally contacted her after the visit and announced that all 30 students who participated in the tour would be offered employment upon graduation.

She wrote:

"Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group of Companies, just called and offered the 30 FUTO students I took on tour of his refinery and fertilizer plant (14 to 16 June 2026) in Lagos automatic employment on graduation."

The announcement has generated excitement across social media, with many Nigerians describing it as a powerful example of how industry exposure, academic excellence, and leadership can create life changing opportunities for students.

The gesture also highlights the growing role of industry and university partnerships in preparing young Nigerians for the workforce. Rather than waiting until graduation, students are increasingly being exposed to real world industrial operations, innovation, and practical learning experiences.

This Nnenna Oti is a pathfinder . She did it for Abia people as a returning officer of the state and announced the right winner Alex Otti and now she is doing it in FUTO. What a woman!
