Oyo Abduction: Boko Haram Terrorists Trapped In Forest, Using Ieds To Stall Res by CDAnewsreporter(op): 1:45pm On Jun 20
Boko Haram terrorists who abducted 42 pupils and teachers from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been trapped inside the Oyo National Park for 36 days, security sources have revealed.

The terrorists, members of Jama'atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda'Awati Wal-Jihad, have intensified efforts to frustrate rescue operations by planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and frequently changing locations within the forest. They have also orchestrated attacks in other parts of the country to divert attention and stretch security resources.

At least three soldiers have been killed in shootouts during the rescue operation. The terrorists are reportedly using the abducted victims as human shields, complicating rescue efforts. They have demanded the release of two commanders, Mahmud Usman and Abubakar Abba, in exchange for the hostages.

Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed the death of a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army during the operation. Security operatives have blocked all exit routes from the forest, preventing the terrorists from moving their victims out.

Retired Brigadier-General John Sura urged the military not to be distracted by the terrorists' tactics and to concentrate efforts on the rescue mission. He advocated for collaboration with NIGCOMSAT for real-time aerial surveillance of the forest terrain.

The government has maintained it will not negotiate with the terrorists and has vowed to rescue the abducted pupils and teachers.

If this succeeds, it's going to be a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism. And of course, it's going to be the beginning of the termination of the wicked murderous terrorists. Unfortunately, families are loosing bread winners to the murderers. I think it's time to go after those asking for negotiation with the terrorists. The terrorists are only good to be sent back to their maker. Imagine the number of gallant Nigerian soldiers lost to the murderers.

Lols jokers

Nigcomsat satellites are not in geostationary orbit to send real time telemetry for intelligence about the terrorists. Such satellites need to be closer to earth and thus orbit approximately every 90 minutes.

The Nigerian military doesn't have EOD personnel and tech such as IR to detect possible IEDs and remove them remotely?

Here's an idea: since they know where they are, maintain surveillance using drones with FLIR and thermal sensors, agree to release their friends in exchange for the victims, and once they're released, bombard the entire location they're hiding. Simple.

Why am I surprised that the army wants us to believe that these people are sophisticated criminals? The only skill they have is killing people, and they are not even intelligent enough to outsmart the boys scout, talk more of the entire Nigerian army.

But if really that is the situation of things right now and the security agents cannot beat them at their own game, then they should swap positions.

Beat them at their own game how?

Many of you have never held a gun before but believe you know all. If they decide to go all in, what do you think will happen to the hostages?

Make una dey use una brain for its primary purpose once in a while.

Since you are making use of your brain, maybe you should start by telling us how easy it was for a group of bandits to grab and march hundreds of hostages into the bush in broad daylight without any interception from security agents.

Some of you will open mouth waa...to spew rubbish just to promote the incompetent government and her security agents. To beat them at their game is to foil an attack, and not wait until lives are at stake before they begin to jump up and down like fake 'Jackie Chans' from Temu just to prove a point.

I'm sure you have never been outside the country before to know how it's done in other countries. So keep quiet when exposed people are talking.

Like I said, try using your brain for its primary purpose. To think.

1st, the discussion is not about how kidnappers executed their operation, it's about how security forces are engaging them. I understand just how shallow your thinking is and the fact that you have no rebuttal for what I said, so you had to shift the focus of the discussion to something that was never mentioned.

2nd, only Inferiority complex and a complete lack of common sense will make a man believe one needs to travel out in 2026 to understand how security works in other countries. USA is one of those countries with efficient security, right? How do illegal immigrants still constantly cross their borders? How did 9/11 happen right under their nose? How do school shootings still happen?

3rd, anyone familiar with my account on this forum knows where I align politically, WITH NIGERIA! My past comments are there for confirmation. Only stupid people defend or attack something just because it supports, or differs from their political alignment regardless of the substance of that thing. It's beyond foolish to start crying over spilled milk when we should be looking for the way forward. It's easy to criticize everything when you're not actively involved in it. Guerilla tactics is not child's play, and no military strategist has been able to counter it till date(you're free to do your research).

Very daft excuse meant to protect Islamic insurgents. I have always known the army is an islamic army.

AI Overview excerpt
Yes, IEDs are detectable, though finding them is difficult because they are custom-built to evade standard security measures. Detection relies on a layered approach combining electronic scanners, trained animals, and human situational awareness.

How about using drones to find a cluster of 50 people?
The lies start flowing once the iinterests of northern Islam is at stake. Very useless army.

The discussion was about engaging the bandits, but I decided to broaden my own discussion to other areas where the army have failed. So what are you yapping about?

Do you really want to compare Nigeria to the US? How many times have you heard that a group of criminals kidnapped dozens of people at once and matched them to the woods unchallenged? How does that relate to immigrants sneaking into the country or psychos invading public places to shoot randomly? What a smart comparison for someone who supposedly uses his brain!

Also, since you are highly informed and don't need to travel out to know what's happening in other countries, then you should be aware of how the U.S Navy raided the hideout of terrorists to rescue Philip Walton, a 27 year old American citizen who was abducted by Boko Haram in 2020. I guess they used magic to rescue him.

And speaking of guerilla tactics, it is very easy to use Guerilla tactics when you are having a direct confrontation and not when there are dozens of hostages in your midst. Do you think it's easy to move around and hide dozens of people without being detected? But the army have made it easy for the bandits because they are as incompetent as you are witless to defend their lack of tactical approach in confronting the bandits.

Let me also make it clear that I have every right to criticise the army for not doing enough because I imagine what the captives are going through, and my heart sinks with pain. Would you counter me if you or a close family member was one of the captives?

And yes, there is need to cry over spilled milk because the milk has been spilling and will continue to spill because our security agents are made up of people who reason like you. Instead of them to accept their blunders, they come up with lame excuses.
