The Resource Curse: By the late 1990s, the phosphate completely ran out, leaving 80% of the island's interior looking like a barren lunar landscape. The national trust funds were mismanaged, and the wealth vanished almost overnight. Today, Nauru has to completely reinvent itself to survive.

I hope Nigeria's story will not turn out this way when there is no more natural/mineral resources to turn into money.
