My mum is the one adjusting her status to a green card holder, we the children are in Nigeria waiting for when the ucis will transfer our case to Nigeria embassy, just wanted to know the duration of time we will have to wait to be called in Nigeria embassy

I'm guessing you are all under 21?
I'm not sure what she was adjusting but if your under 21 then you'd be immediate relative category .

I'm assuming she filed for you same as hers
Your case would have to get to NVC stage before Consular interview

Anyways your process would be pending when the visa ban that affects immigrants visa for those doing consular interviews is lifted.

We can't say where you are but if you are in F category (which I doubt) share your priority date then we can gauge from the visa bulletin.

If you're in immediate relative category then

I'm even more confused after yesterday ruling as to wether it's about the immigrants already in the US seeking for adjustment of status or applicants in those foreign 39 countries under ban who intend to migrate into the US.

Its alll about the ban for the 39 countries immigrant alone within the state and Not the ban for other 75 countries WAITING FOR IMMIGRANT VISA OUTSIDE THE STATE

Thanks for the clarification. I was confused when everybody was saying all over social media that Trump has lifted the ban.

A district court ruled against it and said it's discriminatory . Since for the same process the countries can get adjudication but banned country citizens can't.
Anyways Fed still get an injunction and this might go to Supreme court.

I honestly think USCIS would lift the pause and put in some conditions for these conditions

Use booking . Com to look for an apartment/ hotel.You can book uber as early as 6am.

Thank you my interview went well except for the visa pause issue.

We lodged at Ikoyi Fairview Apartments at Dolphin estate and it was quite affordable and a pleasant stay.

The VO just asked our children who they are and who we are to them and to each other basically trying to confirm the genuineness of our relationship as we had stated. Asked me questions about the petitioner, where he lives and what he does. And he said he found the relationship genuine just that he is sorry that he cannot issue a visa to us now as there is a visa pause and that we should contact them when the ban is lifted. The process for us was so fast.. faster than others that were interviewed before us.

When filing in from outside when they start allowing people in at 6:30am, try to move forward so that you will be amongst the early sets of people to get inside the main interview room.

Great!

Due to the Fed district court judgement on the pause for applications inside US from travel ban countries and including immigrant visas at consulate. USCIS has confirmed it will comply at the same USCIS has filed an appeal.

What this means is that pending the appeal the situation returns to how it was before the pause.

So if you recently had your immigrant interview please keep checking your emails and contact Lagos IIV on when you can bring your passports

Yes very easy as long as you have all the documentations that legally require you to live in the US permanently.

Just last year here, my cousin with his green card applied for a schegen Visa and he was given without much stress. He ended up visiting Sweden, Netherlands and Italy..

They know you won't give up your permanent stay in US to run off to stay in Europe as an illegal immigrant. It just doesn't make sense.

But as a green card holder, I think I do not need a Visa to go to Canada. I stand to be corrected.

They may need to check a few things. Just wait.
Fortunately for you since the pause has been temporarily suspended you'll get your visa

my dad he is a citizen. As at the time he started filing i am under 21 now im over 21 yrs

Well, I think your last paragraph depends on your employer. For instance, Delta Airlines employees are entitled to varieties of leaves, vacations or holidays per year. Profit sharing program too.

I'm traveling anyway, I will look for another job if they don't let me continue when I return.

Mehn , na war ooo. My own company na 5 days PTO after you must’ve spent a year with them.

After one 1️⃣ year , it’s about 2 weeks. How I wan take spend 2 weeks for Naija , not possible. Na to find another company we Dey give at least 3 weeks off , I no really need the PTO.


Also my Naija passport has expired , do you know if I can renew without having to go to ATL ?!

Passport, unless you try the contactless method. If you find someone who has done it to the end.

I tried last year, it was the payment organization who didn't let me finish
Innovate or something like that. They couldn't confirm my payment so I travelled like that
